We held a 75th birthday party at Marigold last weekend. This is a great space in a great location! It's above Churchill's at the corner of Church and 14th. Had around 60 guests. Everything went swimmingly and all the guests had a great time. Many of my friends complimented the space, which was perfect for us. Easy to use audio and video. Great food from the caterers. Great on-the-spot service from Carlos, who also ran the bar. They also included a special cocktail that a friend had "invented" for me! We dealt with Jacobo in the weeks leading up to it. He was super helpful and gave us some great suggestions, including the caterer, Hil's. Heartily recommend Marigold for such events. read more

We just had our intimate engagement party at this gorgeous gem in SF. I had a lovely experience working with Jacobo from beginning to end. He was professional, responsive, and fun to work with. I trusted him with decisions and suggestions as he really knew the "events world". The party itself was awesome! We brought in a few snacks, a walk around magician, a dj, guitarist, and a surprise opera singer while playing Peaky Blinders on the large projection screen in the background. We also showed our engagement video with ease, and that left no dry eyes in the room. They have in-house electric candles, coat rack w/ hangers, lounge furniture, a handheld mic, a few tables w/ linens, and personalized drink menus (they let me create my own fun names to their delicious and beautiful cocktails!). The staff onsite... amazing! Door Guy, Winston (great!), Barback, Sabino (great!), and Bartenders: Carlos and Miguel (AMAZING!). They were the best. They were kind, quick, talented, and super professional. They work downstairs at Churchill bar sometimes, so please visit them (we will!). This is an amazing location for a party! Jacobo answered many questions about the venue/drinks etc. He was great at communicating and also gave me a fantastic recommendation for a caterer - Hil's Cooking. The venue is really beautiful with a mural, and Jacobo had flowers on the tables for us. We used the projector to show photographs. This was the venue of choice for our 2022 Winter Social event and it didn't disappoint. Our party consisted of 23 people, catered food on site (from an outside vendor we found), bar service, and use of their projection and sound system to Zoom into our US office award event. We rented the venue from 1-5pm, arrived at noon to set up, and were out on time as there was another event booked for after us. Michelle of Marigold Event Space was extremely pleasant and easy to work with from start to finish, scheduling time to come by a week ahead to test the projector/sound system set up, moving the tables around to accommodate the camera view we wanted and her accessibility leading up to and on the day of the event. The drink selection and bartender were both amazing and the resounding feedback from our office is that it was one of our best office events to date. Highly recommend this venue for both company and private gatherings. Pros: Efficient and friendly Marigold Event Space team, great drinks, and comfortable space. We hosted my husband's 50th birthday party at the Marigold Event Space and Churchill Bar (rented both spaces) and it was a terrific experience. Jacobo was a pleasure to work with, both spaces already have lots of character (so while I decorated, I could have gotten away with not doing much at all), and everything is totally dialed in for a seamless experience (e.g., their audio, video, relationship with a fabulous caterer, Hil's). I had my 30th birthday party here and it was amazing to say the least! Michelle who led the event planning was very easy to work with and quick to respond to all my questions. The venue is perfect for small to medium size parties, I had about 50 people there. The space has a great vibe to it, and is super cute! You can bring in your own tables and things if needed but it was ideal as is for me. The bartenders and staff were awesome, they made some of the best drinks we've ever had! We hosted my Husband's 70th birthday at Marigold. I wish I had known about this venue sooner! Jacobo and the staff were extremely accommodating and easy to work with. Marigold is already tastefully decorated so you can just show up or add your own personal touches as you wish. We did bring in our own buffet catering and Marigold provided the tables and table cloths for us to use. The sound system and projection screen was plug and play. Some highlights of the space: - We were able to create a custom cocktail program for the event, printed beautifully on menus, and all of the drinks were delicious (even the non-alcoholic option, which may have been the best one!) - Completely private and customizable, with the A/V setup I needed to pull together the event - A bouncer! and you can even determine the secret phrase guests need to use at the door to be admitted - Open bar!! at a very reasonable price - A dedicated venue manager, Michelle, who was INCREDIBLE Even from before the event, Michelle was so friendly and supportive, and helped connect me to a variety of potential vendors. I had a very out of the box vision I was trying to pull together for this party, and Michelle was so supportive and enabling every step of the way to help bring this crazy vision to life. She was a huge help during the day of the event, helping to coordinate various moving pieces, from the DJ, to a brass band I hired, to various programmatic elements. After the event was over (I was a little intoxicated), she was so patient with me in terms of picking up items I left at the venue. I don't think this event space is well known so I wanted to leave a review to let others know about it. Recently my daughter and I hosted a Celebration of Life there. We had two choices of the upstairs or downstairs. Both were great spaces but we opted for downstairs due to its larger seating area. The manager Jacobo was extremely accommodating and attentive to our needs. He recommended a caterer and a florist and both were great. They have a mic for speeches and TV's for photos or whatever you need. We had the whole bar to ourselves. They provided a bartender and outside security. Prices were reasonable. It's on Church and Market so very easy for people coming from the east bay or other parts of SF. I can't praise it enough! read more

We rented out both the Marigold and the Churchill for a large party and it was excellent! Jacobo was the point of contact for the event and he was very easy to work with and quick to respond to all questions. He even helped us get our special QR Code printed on their menu so our guests could share pictures they took from the event! Jacobo and team coordinated with our catering vendor (Hil's cooking who was equally awesome) and offered to coordinate with our DJ too which took the pressure off having to give instructions to everyone! The venue is perfect for any size party. We ended up having around 120-130ish people and it was more than enough space across both the marigold and the Churchill. We had the event during the holiday season and the space had AMAZING holiday decorations / lights had a very fun and upbeat vibe to it! The bartenders (especially Carlos) were awesome! All of our guests were raving about the drinks they made as well as how chill and cool everyone bartending was. I had my wedding reception at Marigold and it was exactly what I envisioned. Michelle was great to work with. It was so smooth, almost hard to believe how easy things were. We had our ceremony at home and headed over to Marigold after. We had a DJ with dancing and open bar for about 90 people. The cocktails. They were SO good! If you go to the downstairs to Churchill you can try them out. We had food delivered from some of our favorite places - El Sur empanadas, Super Duper, Anthony's cookies. We had our company holiday party here and it far exceeded our expectations! The service and staff were amazing, not to mention the food. We partnered with their recommended catering company (Hil's Catering) and it was amazing. Highly recommended the sushi platters. Often times when you cater sushi, it's meh but this was fantastic! So fresh! We also asked to extend our party for another hour and they easily accommodated this. It was a very last minute request and they were so great about it. Security was also secure, they made sure anyone who wasn't part of our party did not get in which was nice to have :) Overall, FANTASTIC place to have your holiday party/event/birthday party, etc. We will definitely be back! We looked into renting out space for our wedding reception. We were interested in a Friday night or Saturday daytime event, and ended up renting out the main bar on Saturday from 2-6pm. We thought the cost was very reasonable, given the size of the event and the number of attendees. Overall, everything went extremely well. The event coordinator worked with us to have a selection of cocktails specific to our group, and provided options for catering (we ended up using the service they ordinarily work with, and that was just fine). During the event, the bar staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating -- everything felt very personal to our group, and they took excellent care of us, both making drinks and engaging people with conversation. We are fairly relaxed, but I would highly recommend Marigold / Churchhill if you are looking for an event space. read more

For my sorority formal, we rented out Marigold and Churchill and it was a blast! Jacobo, Carlos, and their team were amazing to work with and made the night so awesome! They provided a custom beverage menu with our sorority name on it, and the drinks were DELICIOUS! All of the staff was so kind and helpful which made the night very special! We also were able to come up with a secret password to make sure only our guests entered which was so fun and unique! My guests especially loved the photo booth (when the photo strips printed out they said the name of our sorority on them which was so cute!) and pool table! We had a celebration of life event at Marigold for my mother, who recently passed away. The location was perfect - very centrally located in the city. The room itself is great for a small private party - lots of space with big windows all around so you don't feel like you're in a cave. The room has a warm, welcoming feeling unlike hotel spaces which can be a bit cold. There was more than enough room for the 35 people at our event, and the room acoustics were great. We didn't have to shout to hear each other. Our Marigold event manager was Michelle Vilardi, who was extremely responsive and accommodated our every need. Truly a top notch operation; very impressed. Jacobo is a model example of who you want to work with while planning an event. He is very responsive, flexible, and a wealth of knowledge to help plan your event, including tons of recommendations for 3rd party vendors such as DJs, photo booths, florists, photographers, caterers. The Office is a great open space for parties and events up to 100 people. We had the option of a hosted bar with a minimum tab, or an open bar for the whole night. The open bar is the way to go and a good deal considering how much regular drinks are at normal bars, not to mention how much other venues charge for the same service. Plus The Office has a true full bar (liquor, wine, beer, champagne, mixers), plus you can request or bring others if you really want something specific. Some other highlights included: We had the choice of creating a customized drink menu that was tailored to our wedding reception and personalized to our liking; The doorman/security could use a provided guest list or you provide a secret password for entry; shuffle board for some fun; and a banging sound system with a projector screen if you so choose. You'd be hard pressed to find a similar place that provides so many options and is willing to accommodate your needs, while not nickel and dimeing you for all your money. read more

I wanted to throw a birthday party and my friend recommended this place. She held her wedding reception here (back when it was called The Office) in 2017 and I'm so glad I chose this place as a venue. I worked with Jacobo to plan the event and he was always prompt, reliable, and professional. I can be stressed when it comes to event planning, but the whole vibe was easy-going and reassuring, which made it stress-free. The night of the party was awesome and ran incredibly smooth. The staff was fully vaccinated and Jacobo ran the bar, the audio and mic systems, and the lighting throughout the night. Setup beforehand and cleanup was a breeze and there were no surprises with the bill. Before choosing a place, I emailed a bunch of other venues in SF/Oakland.
