We never expected it to stick in our minds so much. I highly recommend it! Of course, the steaks were amazing too. We also ordered a dessert and mentioned that one of us was celebrating a birthday, so they brought out a special candle for the occasion. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating, especially since we have a baby. Their approach is quite different from other steakhouses, as everything is à la carte. This made it a bit challenging to decide what to order since I have my go-to choices at steakhouses, but everything turned out great. John was our server, he's nice and friendly! We really indulged! The restaurant is baby-friendly and not intimidating, so I would definitely recommend it.

Back in 1980, while a junior in high school, I noticed a really cool group of guys hanging out on campus attracting all the young ladies. Since I knew a couple of the guys already because I played little league baseball with one of them, and varsity football with the other (who would go on and play for the Raiders), I asked if I could join the group. I did not know it at the time, but later found out that they called themselves "Members Only." Yes ... I said Members Only! Before you ask, yes everone had at least 2 Members Only Jackets. Fast forward to the evening of 4/16/2026, at BOA Steakhouse, I was really excited to see the guys because I had not seen most of them since The Members Only Very Merry Xmas Dinner Party that I hosted at Ocean Prime in Beverly Hills, the previous year. Now back to BOA, dinner and service was great for the most part. Several fellas ordered steak with a side of Alaskan King Crab Legs, and I had my usuual Seabass with my favorite Old Fashioned drink. I tried to warn a couple of the fellas about ordering Alaskan King Crab Legs at a restaurant that didn't Specialize in Alaskan King Crab Legs, but they didn't listen and complained once their ordered arrived. Several hours later, when the bill was finally dropped off, I had consumed 4-5 old fashoned drinks and I was in a Great Mood. I therefore paid the bill and then we went outside and talked for a while and took some pics. Apparently, I had enjoyed myself a little too much because the General Manager, Eddie, called me and informed me that I had forgotten my credit card. I therefore walked back into the restaurant and retrieved my card. There was not a problem until the next day when I sobered up and looked at the bill. Apparently, the side of Alaskan King Crab Legs that the fellas ordered with their steaks were $120 each. This caught me completely off guard because there were 4-5 crab legs that measured approximately 5 inches long placed into a small bowl. Instead of delivering 1-2 Alaskan King Crab Legs to the table for each guest that ordered them, the chef decided to cut them up and deliver them in a small bowl. Bottom line is, I was Not satisfied with the quantity of crab legs in relation to the price paid. A few days later, I managed to get GM, Eddie, on the phone and expressed my disappoinment with the Alaskan King Crab Legs that my guest ordered. According to Eddie, my guest ordered 8oz crab legs each and that's exactly what was delivered to them. When I asked , Why the crab legs had been cut up and placed in a small bowl? He responded with "For Convvenience!" Apparently, the table would not have accommodated several Alaskan King Crab Legs, so for Convvenience, they cut them up into approximately 5 inches long and placed 4-5 of them in a small bowl. To be honest, his response Stunned Me because living in Laguna Beach and having Real Alaskan King Crab Legs in local restaurants, they did NOT appear to have that problem. I will NOT return! Sincerely, Taking my Business Elsewhere

I dropped by on a Saturday afternoon, where a few other patrons were already dining. The seating has around 6 or so tables inside that can fit around 4 each, and they also have high chairs for children! I ordered a number 17, which is the gyro, and got a side of hummus and pita then found a table to sit at. I had just finished buckling my child into the high chair when my order was delivered to my table! They are super fast here! The super friendly waiter delivered my meal, and I dug in. The gyro was stuffed with meat! This is a huge deal, since a lot of places skimp and don't give enough. So extra points to Al Hamra for a job well done. The flavor of the meat was juicy and well seasoned, super delish! The hummus and pita was good, although I usually add a bit of spices to my hummus so this one was a little plainer than I'm used to. Either way, it was a nice addition to the meal. The grand finale were the desserts! I usually go for baklava, but decided to try the knafeh, a layered cheese dessert with syrup and pistachios. Get the knafeh! The warm cheese and syrup were so delicious and made for the perfect ending to a good meal! I will definitely be back, the food was super tasty, and the people working there were friendly and helpful. Thanks for the happiness, Al Hamra!

Our group of four adults and two kids came in starving. I had the chicken kabob wrap, which was a perfect burrito-sized meal, while my husband enjoyed a beef and chicken kabob plate that fully satisfied his appetite. Honestly, the highlight for me was the warm pita served with garlic mayo, so much better than the cold or room-temperature pitas you often get at otherMediterranean spots. We also shared dessert, the kulfi cheesecake, and left completely stuffed. Al Hamra is a cozy family-run restaurant with just a few tables, but the food makes it well worth it. I'll definitely rotate between this spot and Chicken Maison for future visits.

I was greeted with a big smile and hello from Antonio who was so pleasant and recommended the Flat Iron Steak. I love that he asked how I liked it cooked and was served perfectly as requested (medium rare). It was served on a fresh ciabatta roll that was nicely grilled for the perfect crunch. The steak was dressed with fresh arugula and tomato with a flavorful chimichurri sauce that interestingly had grilled onions as well. The steak was juicy, perfectly seasoned and cooked and overflowing nicely from the roll, definitely well portioned. I opted for the green salad as my side, which was served separately (which was nice), and filled with fresh mix lettuce, carrots and cherry tomatoes, cucumber and ranch dressing. The restaurant had some games for kids to entertain them which is great for families, especially while away from home. They offer a full bar and specialty coffees as well. Antonio shared they have a new breakfast menu that I hope to try in the morning.

These plants appeared to have union representation. They're everywhere. Hanging from things. Growing out of things. Quietly observing your meal. The whole place feels like someone built a really nice restaurant and then let nature move in as a long term tenant. The room hums. Not loudly. Not aggressively. Just enough. Glasses clink. People lean into conversations. Servers weave through the room carrying plates that look heavy enough to alter their center of gravity. Nobody seems rushed. Everybody seems busy. It's a difficult balance. The biscuits arrived first. Now, I'd heard about the biscuits. People talk about these biscuits the way fishermen talk about the one that got away. Slightly dramatic. A little emotional. Hard to verify. Turns out the stories were true. Warm bacon cheddar biscuits with maple butter. I took one bite and immediately understood why people order a second round. The outside has just enough structure to remind you it's baked. The inside is soft enough to make you wonder whether butter has secretly become a building material. We ordered another. Not because we needed another. Because apparently that's what happens here. The creamy polenta showed up next and felt like the culinary equivalent of a weighted blanket. Comforting. Smooth. Relaxed. The sort of dish that encourages you to slow down and stop checking your phone. The duck was one of my favorites. Lightly fried with crisp skin and tender meat, resting on white Italian beans and rosemary. It felt like something a French chef would cook after spending a weekend in the countryside and becoming briefly inspired by fresh air. At some point you stop evaluating food and simply nod in agreement with it. This was one of those moments. Dessert was equally dangerous. The olive oil cake arrived with strawberries and disappeared much faster than logic suggested it should. The cheesecake somehow managed to be rich and light at the same time, which feels like it should violate a law of physics somewhere. Service deserves its own mention. The whole team operates like a group project where everyone actually did their part. Plates appeared when they should. Water glasses mysteriously refilled themselves. Questions were answered without anyone making you feel like you should already know the answer. The chef's French influence shows up everywhere, but not in a showy way. Nothing feels complicated for the sake of being complicated. Everything feels like somebody spent a lot of time thinking about it so you wouldn't have to. By the end of the meal, I realized Manhattan Beach Post had done something difficult. It felt special without feeling serious. You can dress up. You can come casually. You can celebrate something important or absolutely nothing at all. Just order the biscuits. The plants already know you're going to.
