I give EMUNA my Biggest Thumbs zip and Gratitude ! I am so amazed by Edmuna and especially John ( who was do caring and understanding at my last moment nite call )! It rare during Passover to find anyone who sells food - not GRUMPY ! I want to share it with the world . Kosher catering is usually acceptable but not beautiful or extremely delicious but I was amazed by everything Emuna and John did for me . I usually do all the cooking on holidays for my family and rely on caterers for things I don't do ie. Defile fish , Matzoh balls etc. However this Passover I had not expect to be in LA, due to commitments in NY so I didn't make big plans for Passover . since my children ( grown and 2 out of 3 married )!!BH At the last minute the thought of not being with my children and granddaughter made me feel very sad . They also kept complaining they would not have my " famous" brisket . With so little time I relied on the kids her butchers I do business and also had to quickly kosher my house etc. A friend recommended Edmuna and I said what do I have to lose ..., the other caterers have been less than exciting and I really was in days of Passover . I called emuna and instantly I knew I was dealing with next level people . As an avid chef and coming from NYC we have so many great options. I found in LA that was not the case. John couldn't commit at first since he was basically done taking orders . I wanted his chef to come to my home and he laughed ( it's a NYC type of option). We spoke so many times over the next 24 hours - and my guest list was growing . At B the very last moment my younger daughter announced we need a birthday cake for her husband ! John I not only accommodated everything but he even did 4 beautiful Seder plates for me . I kept changing and adding things until the last moment . When the food arrived I expected and believed it would be good but to my utter shock IT WAS BEYOND AMAZING !!! It didn't present or taste like the kosher catering I have experienced over my life. Everything was beautiful, fresh beyond belief , done exactly to my requirement and tasted as if I had a secret Michelin starred chef in my kitchen !! I think EMUNA is exactly as definition !!! I will never use another caterer and I'm the future I will feel so comfortable putting more of the food load on Emuna and really enjoying my family! I can't recommend EMUNA enough and I am a very difficult customer to amaze when it comes to food ! I work with all the top chef's and restaurateurs plus I am a cook myself but Emuna went above and beyond and you see, taste and feel the love for what they do and the customer's enjoyment ! I give EMUNA a 6 STAR B review on a scale of 1-5 ! I am so lucky to have happened upon them and I know this is the beginning of a very long relationship . I ordered turkeys for Thanksgiving--and while Thanksgiving is usually all about the sides, with turkey playing a supporting role, that was definitely not the case here. Emuna Catering went above and beyond... and then they went above and beyond that!!! I'm an Azeri Jew from the former Soviet Union. Not only is our cuisine very specific but our culinary style is vastly different from what catering companies are accustomed to in this country. We redefine what the term "family style" means. On top of a loaded cocktail hour, we were looking for a caterer that could provide 12 cold appetizers to each table, a few hot appetizers, and 5-6 different entrees that would satisfy meat-eaters, pescatarians, and vegetarians alike. And of course, on top of it all, it had to be kosher. I spent many stressful weeks talking to different caterers. None of them took the time to truly understand what I was asking them to do. And none of them could deliver. Enter John. John delivered on every level. We had an abundance of food. Shawarma. Chicken kabob. Shish kabob. Kubideh. Tacos. Avocado egg rolls. Moraccan cigars. And that's just cocktail hour. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We had so much beautiful food waiting for us at our table after the ceremony concluded. I'm tempted to list everything here but it would make this review far too long. Nobody was hungry for one second at any point throughout the night and the food was amazing. There was also a desert room at our wedding that could have doubled as an art installation. The fruit was cut and assorted beautifully across the tables. There were so many different types of pastries. We had a tea station and an espresso station, both of which had a server who showed the most generous hospitality with their spirit. Everyone keeps talking to us about the desert room. My aunt just called me yesterday to rave about the wedding, specifically the food and the deserts. She told me it felt like we were all relaxing with everyone we love in a beautiful home that we created. Meanwhile, the bar at our wedding was outstanding. The bartenders were having fun with our guests. At one point, they brought out a tray of shots to the dance floor with bottles that had VIP sparklers attached. I had no idea they were going to do that. It was a blast. If that's not your thing, I'm sure they would read the room accordingly. But they understood our vibe and added a lot to our celebration. I'm telling you, John didn't deliver, he OVER-delivered. I probably called him 50 times throughout the course of the wedding planning and he always made time for me. I had a lunch reception following the unveiling of my son's memorial monument. The food was beyond fabulous. Every dish was endowed with the freshest, high quality and delicious ingredients. The Smoked Turkey Sandwiches on soft pretzel rolls had thick slices of smoked turkey with lettuce, tomatoes and the perfect sauce. Same was true for the Grilled Chicken sandwishes on Baguette. The Veggie Sandwiches on Baguette and Falafel wraps were filled with tasty veggies. The Harvest, Garden and Quinoa Salads had an incredible variety of fresh vegetables with just the right dressings. the Fresh Fruit Seasonal Plattes besides watermelon, cantalope, pineapple, honeydew melon and huge strawberries included papaya, figs and enormous, juicy, white and red grapes (the expensive type you find at Gelson's). He also had good recommendations for amount of food, the tables and other equipment we would need, and even a kosher bakery to use (which was also great). The day of the event he dropped off everything including the needed trays and supplies right on time, picked it up right on time afterwards, and was able to accommodate last minute adjustments. And, most importantly, every single dish was delicious! We ordered brisket, salmon, and stuffed peppers as main dishes, and a few different sides of rice, pasta, salad, etc. I would order all of them again, and we had multiple attendees ask us for his information (which we happily shared). They cater the best Rosemary chicken with sides wild rice and ginger green beans in town. We tried their salmon with sundried tomato caper sauce. It was outstanding. Price was a little bit higher than I thought I should be paying, so I talked to them and asked to lower their prices since I was feeding a party of 75 people and was my first time trying them. We ended up getting a great price and very delicious food. Dessert was very very good, but a bit expensive.
