Old school location with street parking and a free parking lot right across the street. Inside you will find dry goods from Italy and the counter towards the back. They have premade torpedoes ready for pickup so no need to wait. Two sizes - get the large one, you'll thank me later! Forget the copycats... THIS is the original spot, and now officially my favorite restaurant. My Wife and I used to frequent the Torrance location until I found out this is the original and not affiliated with the other one. After eating here, the difference was obvious. The cannoli tasted fresh and had a good texture on the outside without being soggy nor too hard. They had ready to grab smaller desserts as well in the open fridge section. They had gelato and freshly made bread. This was a very enjoyable experience. None of the desserts tasted old nor did it have that old oil flavor. I'd definitely come here again. This local spot is one of my favorites for Italian food in the South Bay! Both times I've been it's been packed so i definitely recommend placing a phone order ahead of time. The parking can be tricky but I've always been able to find a spot. Inside there's a lot going on, they have a small market with Italian products and wines, a deli, prepackaged food fridges, and the actual food counter. The only food item that has disappointed me here is the chinese chicken salad. I found it bland and mostly full of lettuce with little dressing. The chicken parm with red bell peppers, the fettuccine, and the torpedo are all very delicious and must tries. The torpedo may not look very appetizing but it's a staple for a reason! I ordered the Giulio sandwich which came with mortadella, salami cotto, Italian salami, capicola, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peperoncini and dressing. Shrinkflation is hitting Giuliano's! I've been coming here for over 20 years and have been very happy with their lunch sandwiches... until recently. I bought 6 large torpedos this last Saturday and noticed they felt lighter than before (I buy anywhere from 4 to 6 every week). When I unwrapped them I noticed that the amount of meats was much, much less than before. I had to cut them in half, then use the meats from one half to build up the other half. We visited on Father's Day and ordered spaghetti and meatballs. After paying and sitting down on the patio, we opened our meals and noticed that one of the spaghetti and meatball orders only had one meatball, while the other order had three. We checked thoroughly, even moving the noodles around to make sure it wasn't hidden underneath, but there was only one. Assuming it was simply a mistake, my mom went back to ask if the missing meatballs could be added since we had paid for the meal. What bothered us was not the mistake itself, but how it was handled. The employee looked at the food, spoke with other workers, and then asked my mom if we had "mixed" the food. My mom explained that we had moved the noodles around to check for the missing meatballs. The implication that we might be trying to get extra food was disappointing and honestly insulting. We come here because we enjoy the food, and if we wanted additional meatballs, we would have gladly paid for them. Eventually, they did provide the missing meatballs, but only after questioning us. What bothered me even more was the lack of customer service when I tried to address the situation. I stood at the register area hoping someone would acknowledge me or ask if I needed assistance. Despite being clearly visible, no one did. Eventually, I asked another employee who was at the deli section who the manager was, and he directed me to a gentleman in a white shirt at the register.. But then proceeds to ask if there was something wrong and if he could help me. He mentioned he was one of the managers.. To his credit, this manager listened to my concerns, and was apologetic. I'm not writing this because of a missing meatball. Mistakes happen. I'm writing this because customers should not feel accused or questioned when politely requesting that an obvious mistake be corrected. The food is still good, which is why we continue to visit, but the way this situation was handled left a sour taste on what should have been a pleasant Father's Day meal. And to add even after that insult, My father still went back inside to purchase more products. Luckily, my dentist office is across the street from Giuliano's. This was my first visit since my stroke in 2025. I was lucky enough to find parking near the entrance. I grabbed a large torpedo sandwich. I was able to carry the sandwich to the front and pay for it. Customers were kind enough to help hold the entrance door open for me, making it easier to navigate in and out of the store. Once I got my sandwich home, I cut it in half and gobbled one half for lunch. I ate the second half the next day. If you love sliced meats and cheeses then this is a must try. They have a wonderful selection of meats including our favorites salami and the roast beef which are delicious. We always get provolone and a smoked cheese. The bear claws and lemon squares are the perfect sweet complement to the meat and cheese.
