Came in on a Sunday late afternoon with some friends to celebrate. We were able to grab seats at the bar. Our server was very nice and we retreated by the host immediately who is also very friendly. We ordered drinks and fries to munch on. The ambience was nice. The restaurant was packed. I was definitely come back for dinner service as this was my first time at the Manhattan Beach location. Edgar was amazing and super attentive.

What a fabulous dining experience! Everything from beginning to end was superb. Our service was impeccable - the waiter was thee ultimate host and was very knowledgeable of the best items on the menu. There were a few items we should've taken his advice on bc the options we chose weren't the greatest. The wagyu cigars 0/5 The complimentary tofu app 0/5 Our steaks- the cowboy Cajun and NY strip 5/5 - simply delicious and made to perfection. I thought the sides were good also but needed just a bit more seasoning. Our mocktails were very refreshing. Complimentary anniversary dessert was beautiful to the eye and delicious to taste - it looked much sweeter than it tasted and that was totally fine with me. The ambiance was soooo beautiful and made us feel like we were on vacation. We'll be back!

Had the best birthday experience for one of my close friends from the world of design. They gave us the works, delicious appetizer ( bone marrow stocks), crispy wagu finger rolls. Of course the steak was the star of the show. It was only up staged by the exquisite customer service by a team of excellent waiters and waitresses. They made the Birthday girl feel like royalty.

Good! Really good! Came here to for lunch with friends. It was a beautiful space, artfully designed, good food, great customer service, 1/2 dozen oysters. Fresh and tasty beautifully presented. Beef tartare. Well prepared and served with toasted bread and fries. Delicious!

Another enjoyable meal here. This was my first time coming for lunch. I ended up ordering a steak, but learned that they have burgers and sandwiches on their lunch menu! It's a really nice space inside and the service was friendly and attentive. The cook on my steak was a bit inconsistent, but still tasty nonetheless. The creamed spinach and fries were also delicious. This is a nice, upscale spot for a meal!

We had a couples dinner with a couple of friends and their S/Os at this BOA location in Manhattan Beach. The overall experience was very good. I don't remember the individual price of each item. However, the prices are in line with other high end steakhouses. We started off with the Full seafood platter, and it was packed. We enjoyed oysters, mussels, prawns, lobster, crab meat and I think poke. All of the seafood was super fresh, and the amount of food was plentiful for 6 of us. Secondarily, we had the bone marrow at the suggestion of our waiter. The meat on the toast was super moist, and the torching of the marrow at the table was a cool touch. Between all of us, we had ribeyes, NYs and one person had a filet mignon. There were no complaints, and the steaks were made as requested. The sides were really good, esp the fries and mac & cheese. The tallow fries were super crispy bc they were fried in beef fat, and the mac & cheese was rich from the truffle. Lastly, the comped desserts were a great way to end a savory meal. We appreciated the gesture bc of our large tab. Regarding the ambiance, its big in here and the tables are spaced nicely. It was easy to carry on a convo. Our waiter Kevin, was super knowledgable about the menu, and was on top of all our requests. He also decanted the wines we brought, and brought us fresh glasses for each wine. He also checked to make sure there were no spots on the wine glasses: The mark of a detailed waiter. We tipped him 20% on top of the taxed amount. Secondarily, the Manager, Vinny stopped by to say hello, and introduce himself. That was a nice touch. The only downside to the experience was at checkout. Corporate charges a $5.99 fee to pay via QR code. This is underhanded in my mind, and I refused to pay it. The Manager, Vinny stepped in and made it right by processing the payment the old fashioned way. The $5.99 fee should be eliminated bc most customers prolly don't notice it. Corporate should give full disclosure so customers can make informed decisions.

    Happy Hour menu

This review pertains to happy hour. Came here with a guest and had a nice time while doing a little people watching as well. Surprisingly enough, things weren't busting at the seams for happy hour other than what appeared to be a few business groups that were either coming from or preparing to leave for LAX. While preparing to order we noticed a nice touch..... It appeared that the large groups that were preparing for travel or had just arrived had a fair share of luggage and baggage with them. The host didn't hesitate to inform them that there was a place the restaurant could keep their luggage and belongings to get them out of the way while they dined. Nice! But back to the food.... We both went ahead and ordered the smashburger, with cheese and it was cooked to order. We went ahead and grabbed two crab cakes at $30 bucks a pop (not from the happy hour menu needless to say) and they were delicious. Last last but not least, the CSA, or customer service All Star was Renato. A very attentive gent whose recommendations were spot on as well as the quality of his service. Definitely recommend this joint particularly for happy hour.

A 5-star dining experience right in the heart of Manhattan Beach. Good attentive service, and delicious food, with an upscale luxury atmosphere. Out of everything we ordered, I felt that the salads were the standout. The table side Cesar salad is exceptionally good. It's so fresh and crunchy and the dressing is very tasty. I ordered the chop chop salad and LOVED it. It was delicious. I'd come back just because I crave the salads. The rest of the meal was solid, but kinda like any other steakhouse. Steak was good, and cooked perfectly but flavor didn't blow me away. The wagyu meatballs and spaghetti was just OK in my opinion. It wasn't a stand out but if you love spaghetti and meatballs I think you would like it. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they brought us a complementary cheesecake, which was a nice touch and very yummy.

10 out of 10! Every staff member I came in contact with was professional, personable and welcoming! Great Job BOA Steakhouse management! Now let get to the dishes. What can I say, 10 outta 10! You can not go wrong with anything else on the menu. And the ambience warm, intimate and music choices was so on point for whatever your style music is. BOA Steakhouse -Manhattan Beach California, you have a new customer for life. Thank you, for making my daughter 's birthday memorable!

Wow!! I am blown away by the food and service at BOA. I booked a reservation to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and I am beyond happy with our experience. The establishment has plenty of cute spots to sit at, whether it is a booth or table setting. Our server was named Oscar and he was phenomenal! We encountered 3 employees (idk what their role is in the restaurant) but they were all soo sweet and gave us great recommendations. Australian Waygu Ribeye - medium rare with truffle butter 5/5 sooo tender and melts in your mouth. The right amount of fat and the meat was cooked perfectly! This steak is huge! Between the two of us we couldn't finish it Truffle Mac & Cheese 5/5 I'm a sucker for truffle and this didnt disappoint! I found myself going back for more portions of the mac throughout the dinner Roasted Bone Marrow 4/5 i wish the dish was less oily. The bone marrow paired nicely with the short rib and bread. The salad also added a refreshing touch. Chipotle Lime Corn 4/5 yummy! The flavors balanced each other out Sea bass 4/5 very soft and buttery. Knocking off a point for the portion being small but it is still delicious Toffee Cake 5/5 WOW this was delicious. The cake was warm and soft. The ice cream brought a great balance to the sweet treat I will be thinking of this dinner for a while. The hospitality of the staff is beyond amazing and they made our night so special!

This place is so beautiful. My friend and I came during happy hour and we were not disappointed this was my first ever visit at BOA and I would completely 100/10 recommend. Our waiter was Kevin and his service was also 100/10 he was such a vibe, kind, helpful, cool and just made the experience so nice for us. I originally booked a reservation for dining at 4:15 but when I realized they had happy hour until 5pm I asked Kevin if we could move and he obliged with no issue moving us to the bar seating (Happy hour is not offered in the regular dining area). He recommended the wagyu skewered I believe they're called - BEST MEAT I've had ever ! He then recommended the Thai chicken - BOMB.. we also ordered the Philly and the wagyu smash burger and they were so delicious it's ridiculous. I would love to return again with Kevin as our server - I took off a star because although there were plenty of ladies working our area , at least 3, when he went on break he asked Kristen I believe that was her name, to check on us so he could go on break but no one checked on us for the duration of our meal. He did apologize upon his return. Which we didn't fault him at all.

The service here was very friendly. I went here for a casual lunch. BOA usually has a "dress code" but being a Beach City location in the South Bay it's more relaxed for appropriate contemporary community standards of Manhattan Beach... so fret nor fear not! Call 'em if ever in doubt. BOA by nature is expensive in the realm of other steakhouses like Ruth Chris, Maestro's, Flemings, etc. where steaks run $50 on the very low end to an avg of $75-100 for a good cut and stated portions around that 6-12 oz realm without any sides, a la carte. It's a high end dining experience. It's also reliable quality. Expect to dine for about $75-100 per person at minimum, but be prepared to spend about $200-300 per person if you wanted appetizers, sides (sharable sizes) and desert... more if you drink alcohol. BOA is a trusted So Cal name in the LA area, as I've dined at various locations. It's known in our circle as the perfect restaurant for business meatings (meetings with quality steak) and eatings (they have seafood here too!).

We wanted some fancy steak, and fast, and we were able to get last minute reservations for BOA Steakhouse in Manhattan beach. We came a little early before 5pm so we could get some happy hour at the bar before we sat for dinner. We had the happy hour half dozen oysters, the caviar cones, and the golden hour cocktail. The caviar cones were slightly warm with an interior like a creamy mashed potato with the dollop of caviar on top. We enjoyed our small bites and cocktail then were seated for dinner. The restaurant is very inviting with fire lights and greenery and very comfortable seats. For dinner we started with the table side caesar salad, side of creamed spinach, the center cut filet, peppercorn sauce and 12 oz New York strip. The caesar salad was crisp, flavorful, and came on chilled plates. The steaks were buttery and satisfying. We enjoyed our side of creamed spinach which had crispy onions on top as well. For dessert we had the ultimate chocolate lovers dream which was the Valrhona Chocolate. This over the top dessert featuring rich chocolate mousse, chantilly cream, chocolate meringue, then the waiter pours chocolate sauce all over it as it is served. We were so full and enjoyed our food and thought the restaurant was very beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant and would love to return.

Our server was great, very quick to get our drinks and put our order in. When our food came out all I said was "WOWZERS" the tenders were a very big portion and you can def share and they come with fries. Their onion rings were good but I keep going back for the fries instead. I did love that they had their own ranch and dips they were both great. We also got an order of their distracts and those were my favorite and will probably get them again, delicious, crispy and their salsa was really good and flavorful. These plants appeared to have union representation. They're everywhere. Hanging from things. Growing out of things. Quietly observing your meal. The whole place feels like someone built a really nice restaurant and then let nature move in as a long term tenant. The room hums. Not loudly. Not aggressively. Just enough. Glasses clink. People lean into conversations. Servers weave through the room carrying plates that look heavy enough to alter their center of gravity. Nobody seems rushed. Everybody seems busy. It's a difficult balance. The biscuits arrived first. Now, I'd heard about the biscuits. People talk about these biscuits the way fishermen talk about the one that got away. Slightly dramatic. A little emotional. Hard to verify. Turns out the stories were true. Warm bacon cheddar biscuits with maple butter. I took one bite and immediately understood why people order a second round. The outside has just enough structure to remind you it's baked. The inside is soft enough to make you wonder whether butter has secretly become a building material. We ordered another. Not because we needed another. Because apparently that's what happens here. The creamy polenta showed up next and felt like the culinary equivalent of a weighted blanket. Comforting. Smooth. Relaxed. The sort of dish that encourages you to slow down and stop checking your phone. The duck was one of my favorites. Lightly fried with crisp skin and tender meat, resting on white Italian beans and rosemary. It felt like something a French chef would cook after spending a weekend in the countryside and becoming briefly inspired by fresh air. At some point you stop evaluating food and simply nod in agreement with it. This was one of those moments. Dessert was equally dangerous. The olive oil cake arrived with strawberries and disappeared much faster than logic suggested it should. The cheesecake somehow managed to be rich and light at the same time, which feels like it should violate a law of physics somewhere. Service deserves its own mention. The whole team operates like a group project where everyone actually did their part. Plates appeared when they should. Water glasses mysteriously refilled themselves. Questions were answered without anyone making you feel like you should already know the answer. The chef's French influence shows up everywhere, but not in a showy way. Nothing feels complicated for the sake of being complicated. Everything feels like somebody spent a lot of time thinking about it so you wouldn't have to. By the end of the meal, I realized Manhattan Beach Post had done something difficult. It felt special without feeling serious. You can dress up. You can come casually. You can celebrate something important or absolutely nothing at all. Just order the biscuits. The plants already know you're going to.

Some dishes could've been executed better. Going down the list of dishes I had here: - Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits: These were more like scones rather than biscuits. Crunchy with good bacon and cheddar flavor. - Japanese Hamachi Crudo: Unique and I liked the citrusy flavor and creamy texture. However, 3 small slices of fish for $26 was overpriced. - Leafy Greens & Radicchio: Solid and crispy salad with a nice tangy dressing. The cheese also added a lot of sharp flavor which was nice. - Skirt Steak: Good flavor and char, but a bit tough. Also some dry pieces. - Chilean Sea Bass: Lemon orzo risotto was creamy and delicious. The sea bass itself was okay, nothing special. It felt overpowered by the risotto. The fish was moist and flaky though. - 20 Oz Prime Beef Ribeye: Quality was subpar relative to price. Portion size was solid by the steak itself was inconsistent. Some of the pieces were rarer while others were more well-done even though we asked for medium rare. There were also some dry pieces which I did not like. Flavor was good though. - Strawberry and Olive Oil Cake: Was confused since there was just a thin layer of cake, but realized the title also referred to the mousse. I would title it 'Strawberry Mousse with Olive Oil Cake" to make it less confusing. Regardless, this was a delicious dessert! Love the fruity strawberry and savory pistachio flavors as well as the smooth textures. - S'mores sundae: Got this on the house for my aunt's birthday. A generous portion but the components were a bit too sweet for my liking. I visited this restaurant for a birthday that I organized and my experience was overall good. Reservation was made easy using OpenTable and I could also mention it was for a birthday occasion. The ambiance was gorgeous with good mood lighting. Good for group and 1 on 1 dining. Parking is metered or street parking. Overall, I probably wouldn't come out of my way to dine here again, but my experience wasn't bad just not significant enough to put in my rotation. Would come back if someone treated me here though.
