My condition was getting worse. Other endocrinologists were unable to help and all of their effort was to constantly change my medications without any explanation and no results. I always felt rushed during my doctor visits with them especially after having had to wait in the waiting room for long periods, which was very inconvenient and useless.  Dr. Tashko is one of the very few doctors I know who is extremely passionate about his profession. He takes time to make sure all my questions are answered. He works with me to address my health concerns and makes sure I understand my course of treatment and action. He makes sure we are on the same page and understanding. He takes his time to explain the prescriptions and their side-effects, how they work, and the science behind them. He discusses several options, the outcome of each, and which best works with my lifestyle for the best result. I have NEVER seen a doctor who cared so much. He always prints out handouts for me to take home and he directs me to related articles and resources to educate me on my health condition. Hands down, Dr. Tashko is one of the best doctors and I'm so blessed to have met him and have him as my endocrinologist. After having two babies back to back in 2018 and 2019 I had gained a lot of weight and my A1C went up to 7.0. Thanks to Dr. Tashko I lost 36 lbs and dropped my A1C down to 5.0. This is the best I've ever felt about my health and physical appearance. I would also like to add that his staff is very friendly, respectful, and responsive. I went to see Dr. Sadikman and that was the start of a wonderful patient-doctor relationship. Dr. Sadikman is my GP or general physician. He is absolutely the kindest, most caring doctor, and such an excellent doctor. He won't give up in finding what is wrong with you, if you are sick. He listens to you and is very thorough in checking for what is making you ill. He will recommend a specialist, if you need one. The office just moved and they are in Bethesda now off of Rockledge Drive. His nurses Lilly and Taryn are the nicest medical professionals you could happen to meet. They are so receptive to your needs. Dr. Sadikman is a concierge practice. So, you pay a yearly fee. The nice thing about that is you can get in to see him, when you need to. I highly recommend Dr. Sadikman.

Case in point, I had a question about a vaccination prior to international travel. Yes, CDC lists this vaccine and advises to take it, but Dr. Sadikman went much further, asking me about specific conditions I am likely to encounter, time of the year I will travel etc. before making his recommendation. That was most thoughtful. Dr. Sadikman is so much more than other docs who just want to write you a prescriptions. I feel very fortunate to have found his practice. Sorry, I wasn't sure on her credentials) and resident were absolutely gracious, respectful, and kind, I do not intend to pursue care with a doctor who repeatedly violated my boundaries, disrespected my lived experience, and demonstrated ignorance regarding many well-accepted concepts and diagnoses in the medical field. Since you evidently do not understand the nature of trauma or mental distress, allow me to enlighten you. Your aggressive and unprofessional approach triggered me. Unfortunately, you are not the first ignorant doctor I have encountered who has made me feel small and scared and objectified. In this case, those feelings caused me to mentally shut down and lose the ability to properly communicate just how hurtful and inappropriate your questions and comments were to me in the moment. Please allow me some time to express those feelings now. Firstly, you spent an unusually long amount of my appointment discussing your own life experience, so allow me to share a bit of my own. I am a direct descendant of Eastern European immigrants, a direct descendant of people who were victimized by violent antisemitism, and a Jewish historian. Your utter lack of awareness regarding the nature of intergenerational trauma is quite shocking. Telling me that I shouldn't be depressed or anxious because at least I'm not in a cattle car to Auschwitz or being barred from education in Afghanistan was cruel and disrespectful, both to the people who have experienced those things, and to me. Furthermore, when I verbally expressed that I found this line of communication hurtful and unproductive, you nevertheless persisted in violating my clearly stated boundary a few more times before the end of my visit. Additionally, when I informed you that I had recently gained a significant amount of weight due to a battle with a lifelong eating disorder, you not only calculated my BMI (a widely debunked methodology) and informed that I was obese, but also asked why I was fat and anxious if my boyfriend is calm and in better shape. I'm not even sure which of the myriad of potential offensive things you were attempting to imply there, but they all reveal an embarrassing cluelessness regarding basic eating disorder and mental healthcare best practices, as well as a deficit of simple human kindness. To be clear, I understand that weight is a potentially relevant factor when discussing heart health and I was prepared to have that conversation in a reasonable and measured way. What I could not abide, however, were your callous and, frankly, incorrect comments about a subject which I clearly expressed was difficult and painful for me. I respect your life experience and the things you have suffered but your success does not negate anyone else's trauma, nor does it have anything to do with my health. I urge you to educate yourself. If that is too much to ask, then at very least I advise you to simply keep your mouth shut next time anyone mentions mental health to you. You are literally causing more harm than good.
