Potatas bravas. (Sauce was perfectly spicy)

On a spring visit to Barcelona I did some research for gluten free options since we were traveling with our son with Celiacs. This restaurant popped up on every search. I made a reservation for a late lunch after some early sightseeing seeing. The entire place is gluten free so my son was in heaven selecting tapas he normally would not be able to enjoy. Even the rest of the family who don't require GF eating enjoyed the food. The restaurant is beautiful and cosy, exposed brick and tastefully done flowers and metalwork made it feel posh for lunch. Service was spectacular. Our waitress early on told us when the kitchen would close so if we needed more plates we knew in advance. Although we didn't order full meals the tapas we had were great. Would highly recommend you make advance reservations as it's very popular. A few small tables outside also available but the inside really is where you'd prefer to be.

Came here for the lunch menu. This restaurant has the menu in both Spanish and English. Great deal - 13.90€. The ambiance was cute but what I loved most on this hot summer day was the AC! They also have gluten free options. My boyfriend and I both did the lunch menu and ordered all different plates so we could have a variety. For appetizers: Scrambled egg with asparagus and Portobello mushrooms. I'm a mushroom lover and the dish was great. The asparagus had a bit of a crunch to it and the plate was well seasoned. Roasted Tomino cheeses and dry tomato on top of arugula. I actually liked this plate better then the scrambled egg. For entree: Aubergine (eggplant) filled cod with caramelized onions and olive paste. This you must get! It was very filling and better tasting then the other entree we got. Braised fish with yucca chips (extra 1.90€) - it was a piece of tuna steak. I thought it was over cooked and a bit dry. The yucca chips are very crispy and not much flavor to it. For desserts we got the cheesecake and chocolate coulant (extra 1.90€) Loved the cheesecake. Chocolate coulant was a little to rich for me. Overall, great service and decently priced lunch menu.

This is, hands down, one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. It was a little tough to get a table, but once we did... Oh my!!! We shared the gf bread, ablnd the fried eggs with a couple kinds of traditional sausages. For a main I had grilled octopus and my husband had lamb. Usually we determine who wins the entrée, but it was a draw. Each entrée was both generous and delicious. For dessert I had a creme chocolate (mousse) with olive oil and salt, and my hudband had a pastry of cream with a chocolate sauce. I'm definitely a fan of the mousse. As it was our last outing before flying back to the US, we had sangría tinta, but the wine list was full of local wines. The service was excellent. The waiter spoke catalán, Spanish, Portugués, English and a little French. We had some fun with all of it. I look forward to another visit. There are a lot of dairy free options. I recommend a reservation (we got lucky). Vegans might have a bit of a tough time. There are better choices for you in the immediate area!!!

We were a group of nine people at dinner. Our order was taken fast and our food came fast and was all great. Very well done.

A local told us about this place so we gave it a shot... The food was fabulous!!! See my pics! So so good!

Tuna tartar. We had it as an appetizer although it's listed as a main entree

Stumbled upon this restaurant as we were walking around looking for a place for dinner. Menu looked great so we stopped in. So glad we did! The food was great. Not your typical Spanish restaurant.. Not really tapas here. Everything from the beef carpaccio, tuna tartar, coconut shrimp, filet, rack of lamb were all delicious! Had a crema catalana for dessert which was delicious also. Bonus if you need- they have a kids menu. The service was also great. My kids kept wanted more and more of things and as we ordered more of something, it all came out pretty quick. They couldn't get enough!

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

Our server, Amaya, was funny, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He took great care of us, and every single recommendation he made was delicious. I wish I knew all the Spanish names of the dishes because everything was amazing. The highlights for us were the Bacalao -- so tender and full of flavor -- and honestly the best octopus I've ever had in my life. We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant itself has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful décor that made the whole dining experience even more special. I hope it wasn't because we had walked about 25k steps by the time we got there but because the place was so darn good! We got there around 630pm on a Monday evening got seated right away. When we left an hour later there was a line to get in. Amaya was our waiter and he was wonderful. We knew we wanted to try the following dishes: Razorback clams 5/5: I've only seen these in NY and had them stir fried. These were steamed and perfectly tender. Of the 3 pieces I ate, one had that funny tang at the end but the other two were great. Squeezed a little lemon on top and it was perfection! Creamy Asparagus and mushroom 3/5: Dunno why everyone says to order this. It was okay but nothing special to it. A good hit of garlic I suppose but nothing to write home about. Spanish omelette 5/5: It really tasted like a melt in your mouth scalloped au gratin. But the combination of tender potatoes, cream and light egg just melts in your mouth. Loved the little buttered tomatoe bread too to balance the "omelette". Amaya, our awesome waiter wanted to surprise us with his recommendations. They were: Suckling pig 4/5: I had wanted to try this and the first bite was disappointing too salty but when I added some of the orange sauce it balanced it out perfectly. Very tender but I wouldn't order it again. Prawn skewer 5/5: Wow. That's all there is to say. The prawn and calamari rings were so tender and the prawns were fresh and juicy. Cooked to perfection. Cod with "olivado" 5/5: This was the best dish by far. The fish was flakey tender and the cheese? with hint of tomatoes was all balanced to well. I thought the hubs was going to lick his plate! For dessert he ordered us the "torrija" which tasted like a combination of donut, cream, and creme brûlée. 5/5! The combination of flavors and textures in your mouth was sooooo good! We also had a half pitcher of sangria and some sparkling water. The ambiance is upbeat and even though it was crowded, it wasn't noisy. It's a very pretty space and fairly large. I would say this was one of my best meals ever. You need to come to this place!

We missed that the Cuttlefish had squid ink-no matter, so light and exquisite-only complaint would be to have more cuttlefish. Service was engaged and friendly from start to finish. My Greek salad was very authentic and was as good as any salad I had while I lived in Greece. Very fresh vegetables, great Feta and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp scampi under the Tapas menu with garlic was equally good and oh so tasty. The smallish inside restaurant is best described as rustic and a tad warm. Instead I opted for the outside dining area, which has just a few tables but offered a very pleasant ambiance in the small side street this business is located on with low foot traffic and a very nice breeze on the warm day I dined here. The relaxed dining on the outside is definitely the way to go here especially during the summer months. From a negative standpoint, certain aspects of the service were too slow. I was seated pretty quickly upon arrival but I waited a tad bit too long to get my order in. Once ordered though, the food came pretty quickly on a positive note. However, for all intents and purposes the service stopped at that point where I had no follow up and literally had to walk inside the business to get my bill. Overall, the dining experience was still great for me slow service aside as the quality of the food and outdoor ambiance far outweighed the negatives. I would say if you are in a bit of there rush you may want to look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a relaxing dining experience with great food than this business will be definitely fit the bill!

Taverna El Glop wraps you up in its warm, lively atmosphere the second you walk in. We were a group of four, and from start to finish, we had an awesome time. The open kitchen is a great touch -- you can watch the chef in action, which adds to the energy and makes the whole experience feel more connected and authentic. We shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was on point. The paella was rich and delicious -- exactly what we came for. The patatas bravas were crispy, creamy, and gone in seconds, and the shishito peppers were the perfect salty, snacky starter. Of course, we had to get a pitcher of sangria (okay, maybe two), which was fruity, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep things festive. The space itself has this great, rustic charm -- complete with checkered tablecloths and even an old cigarette machine near the bar (haven't seen one of those since I was a kid -- aren't those banned in the U.S. now?). I don't smoke -- smoking sucks -- but it added a bit of unexpected nostalgia and character. Service was excellent. I always make a point to be friendly, ask people their names, and introduce myself -- and that's usually met with warmth. It definitely was here. The staff were quick, kind, and seemed to enjoy the place as much as we did. Personally, I loved it. It's the kind of place you remember -- not because it's fancy or trendy, but because it's fun, flavorful, and full of heart. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
