Great spot for coffee and pastries! The carrot cake was wonderful! It's a delightfully light cake that paired well with the coffee! The frosting was refreshingly creamy. I'm definitely getting this one when we come back again. Sooo good! We also tried the berry and almond tart. It was perfectly sweet (not too sweet) with a hint of tartiness from the berries. I wish we could stay and try the breakfast (it looks great here), but we were on a time crunch. Next to the cafe, there's a little art store. It was closed when we got there, but it looks like a great place to check out some local art! Service was great here. Kind and incredibly helpful. We will definitely be back next time we're in Bacalar! read more

I really wanted to like this spot but didn't. I had the vegan chilaquiles with jack fruit pibil - it was awful. Why would one put all the corn tortillas on the bottom, to be completely soaked with juices and disintegrate before the customer gets the plate? The hot chocolate was delicious, though. Come for the coffee and the atmosphere, go elsewhere for the food. read more

We ordered avo toast, yaca chilaquiles, chia pudding all of which we did not eat. Avo bread had a strange rye, boxy, sour taste. The yaca in the chilaquiles was unpleasantly sour and the chia pudding tart. Def lacking taste. Ambiance is fine but the flies, vendors and smell of pet urine was too much. Came based on reviews which highly fell short. Go to Yerba Buena instead. read more

Terrific Nordic sandwich complete with lox, capers and cubes. We also ordered the classic which came on awesome multigrain bread. In my opinion the wonderful, thick bread overwhelmed the 1 thin slice of turkey. 2 sammys, 2 coffees and tip cost us 350pesos, which is no cheap eats, especially for breakfast. Very nice cafe/bakery! We had breakfast here. Outdoor seating was great under a tree. They even had some live music for a little which was very nice. Their mocha coffee (Moka) was amazing!! Especially with coconut milk. We also tried two different fruit waters: mango and passion fruit. Both were great but the mango was exceptional. We started with some fruit which was served with delicious lemon/honey/turmeric sauce. Their egg scramble with goat cheese was also very good. Staff was very nice and friendly. read more
