Plenty of jaw-dropping moments at Enchant! We even witnessed the most magical proposal. CROWDED I was looking for holiday activities in San Jose, and this one caught my eye. My husband and I brought my in-laws for a double date on a Tuesday night in mid-December. I hoped to avoid the crowds by going on a weeknight and well before Christmas, but I was wrong! It was still packed, even though our entry time was after 7 PM. Watch out for kids running around, and be prepared to wait in line for some photo ops. CONFUSING PARKING We prepaid for parking, thinking it would simplify things, but I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to 1) figure out exactly where you're supposed to park and 2) sit in traffic through the parking lots and into the structures. There weren't enough visible signs or clear directions provided beforehand. It took us almost an hour to finally get into PayPal Park. SUPER FESTIVE Thousands of square feet of dazzling lights, sculptures, and festive stalls. I just wish we'd had more time for an ice-skating session. Still, we enjoyed some good food, drinks, and live music. TLDR A cute date-night idea during the holidays with lots of IG-worthy photo ops. If you don't mind crowds, go for it! Just plan ahead and know where to park.

Huge tree that you can actually see when driving on the freeway!

Really beautifully done Christmas lights at PayPal Park!!! Maze was a scavenger hunt for kids and at the end the kids get to make a wish and find candy hidden in the decor. My 9 year old really enjoyed it. Lots of great photo ops: various animals, trees, giant engagement ring, carriage, tunnels, etc. It wasn't too crowded after Thanksgiving at all. Arrived around 9:30pm so we comfortably took photos without having to wait in super long lines. Cute little holiday market area near entrance so you can buy little gifts. Some typical stadium food and drink was available to purchase inside. Hot chocolate was $6. Helped to keep us warm. Hopefully next time we will get to try ice skating. The photo op sign in the entrance was not placed right though. All the faces come out dark in photos. They should put some lights facing the Enchant sign so that faces will be lit up. Bring some hand warmers! Prepaid for parking on website but nobody even checks...

This year was a little more underwhelming than last year because I noticed significantly less colorful lights. Most of them were white which was a bit boring for me. But other than that I loved coming to Enchant whenever they come around. I get their marketing emails and this year, they send out the earlier bird offer back in the summer for half off tickets to schedule for the winter. I didn't even bat an eye before buying. I knew I'd make it work to come down. It's a great family event or date event. They have an ice rink in there (extra charge) and some food trucks and plenty of vendors. In the center of it all is the Light Maxe. They give you a little scratcher tracker with 6-ish light fixtures you're supposed to find before leaving the maze. I always have to double back -- not SUPER challenging but not just a walk around! We'll probably come again next year!

When looking at pictures on Instagram and their website it looks like a very exciting experience. We had some family from out of town and decided to get tickets, however, we were very underwhelmed. For the first 5 minutes it was pretty to see the lights on the very large animals but upon looking closer they were really dirty and not that exciting after you've seen a few. I think more interactive lights would've been cool. The market was also not that great. I approached one vendor that I was interested in (permanent jewelry) and they didn't even make a sound, so no sell there. Drinks were pre-mixed and over $20! Not my cup of tea. The ice skating looked cool but I didn't try it. It was also the most crowded area in the park. I did enjoy the light tunnel, colorful dance floor, large Christmas tree, and yummy donuts from Pearl's!

It took us an hour to skate. We had reservations at 8:30 and didn't get in till 930 due to the lines to get in, everybody having to do waivers, and then they do the Zamboni to clean the rink just before we're ready to go in . The lights part was nice, but overpriced but skip the ice rink. In fact everything was overpriced. Single photo with Sana was $39. Two hot cocoas $19. $35 for parking that was a 2 block walk away Not including the food, I Spent $300 for a family of five for all of this. What a rip off.

Enchanted Christmas is definitely a visually stunning experience. The light maze, decorations, and overall organization were great. The ice skating and the light bulb drink included with the Premier Pass were fun touches. However, the woman taking drink orders at the bar was like a classic unhappy robot. A warm smile or a bit of friendliness would have made such a difference, but unfortunately, that was missing. When you visit a place like this, you expect to feel cozy and warm inside after being out in the cold, but that feeling wasn't there. Despite all the beauty, I don't think the true holiday spirit was captured. On top of that, the event is quite expensive. Without the Premier Pass, you'll spend a lot of time in lines, but with it, the cost increases significantly. It's worth trying once, but I'm not sure I'd go again.

Had a magical time at Enchant! The lights, music, food and market boutiques all add to the holiday experience. The maze is beautiful. Recommend the parking pass, makes it a lot easier to walk right in. The Tipsy Tavern is a relaxing place to lounge for a break.

I was surprised by how well done Enchant at PayPal Park was. It was pricey to be sure, but I left feeling glad I'd gone. I bought early access tickets and also paid for the premier access, which gives you accelerated entry to ice skating and at Santa's Landing, as well as a mocktail/cocktail in a light bulb collector's cup, and $10 credit at the Enchant Store. More on whether premier access was worth it later. In advance, I paid $42 per adult for general admission, an additional $26 per person for premier access, and $35 for parking. So not cheap. And as it turned out, there wasn't really a need to pay for parking in advance. The cost was the same and there was plenty of space in the garage. When we arrived around 6:45 (and we came on a Friday evening), there was a special line for premier access holders, though there was no wait in the general admission line, so it didn't matter. I was expecting Friday evening to be quite a bit busier than it actually was, though the space became more crowded during the time that we were there. Upon passing security and scanning our tickets, we were directed to a VIP line to pick up our premier access wrist bands, drink vouchers, and enchant shop vouchers. There was no wait so we picked them up almost immediately. There are quite a lot of food and drink kiosks throughout the event. So there are many places to redeem your drink vouchers. The bummer for me was that I didn't want the cocktail or mocktail because I'm trying to avoid sugar in my diet. And when I asked if I could redeem my voucher for coffee, which would have cost them less than giving me a cocktail or mocktail, the answer was no. So I ended up paying $6 for a cup of coffee. There are food trucks near the ice rink with a number of dining options, as well as a large bar. The concession stands throughout the event also had a variety of different food options, which I appreciated. One place had hamburgers with impossible patty options and gluten free rolls on request. In the food truck area, there was a crepe place (with a gluten free option!), and a bbq place, among others. Onto the main event, the light maze! When you enter, they give you a card to scratch off all the big animals with bells you find in the maze, which kids can apparently redeem for a prize. I used the card as a guide to make sure we saw most of the maze itself. The maze is stunningly beautiful. So many lights and lots of photo-taking and selfie taking opportunities. There's so much Christmas magic going on there, it filled my Christmas-loving heart with joy. The maze is spacious, with lots of room for people and to take photos. There are also food and beverage kiosks throughout, which was also nice. They were giving out Lindt truffles at the end of the maze. The Enchant store is right at the maze exit where you could use your $10 vouchers. This was the surprise of the evening for me-the items were actually reasonably priced. With our three $10 vouchers, we were able to get an Enchant glass ornament that lights up, and 8 nice Kurt Adler Christmas ornaments for our tree. The Enchant Store vouchers actually made me feel like I got value from the premier access passes because we didn't need fast pass access for the maze, didn't ice skate or visit Santa to use the fast pass, and we didn't use two of our three complimentary mocktails/ cocktails. But in the end, it worked out. I could imagine that this would be such a fun experience for kids. They even had a play area where Mrs. Claus read stories, every hour, I believe to kids. Overall, I had a great time at Enchant Christmas and would recommend checking it out if you are looking for more Christmas fun.

I joined a group of friends to visit Enchant, and it was beautifully decorated--every corner offers a perfect photo opportunity. I do agree with others that it's a bit pricey, especially with Christmas in the Park nearby, but it's definitely worth a visit at least once to change up the scenery!

Enchant is a great family-friendly holiday event! They have multiple city locations each Christmas. Last year I was fortunate enough to check it out during our trip to Las Vegas. This year we are able to check out San Jose Enchant which was held at the PayPal Stadium. So excited and grateful to be able to go on Military Night. First stop, go visit Santa and take pictures with him. My kids were most excited to do some ice skating. They offered a variety of food stalls, concession stands, little shops selling trinkets and bar stalls too, they offered beer, wine and cocktails, holiday themed drinks. The light maze was great, very beautiful, light displays. Many spots to pose and take pictures. Upon entering the maze, the elves offer a scratch card to participate in a fun search while you walk through., You need to find all the forest animal friends. As you exit then you will receive a prize. We had a very nice time together as a family. I would definitely make it out again next year, especially if they have another military night.

It was so magical! The attention to detail was top notch and the atmosphere was purely Magical. I saw it online and thought to myself "why this would be a great thing to do with my friends! So we bought the tickets and it was nothing short amazing! We brought our dogs and it was one of the most amazing Christmas light shows I have ever been to! We also saw Santa and the picture we got looks like my dog was giving him a kiss totally used that for my holiday cards this year!

What they ask for AFTER purchasing your dog's ticket
    Evonne M.

This is a review for a Paws and Claws event on a Sunday night. There was barely a line. The website asks for vaccinations after purchasing your dog's tickets, which was inconvenient because it was a weekend after Thanksgiving. Vets are closed. Luckily I had a hard copy of my dog's vaccinations, which they did not check upon arrival. It was a simple scan in check in for our dog. Btw, Parvo vaccines are not mandatory for the state of California! $$$ $34 for humans, $20 for 2 dogs max, $35 for parking if you didn't pay ahead of time. Though there were lots of vendors around the stadium for drinks and food, everything was well over $10. We could have brought sealed water bottles. On the website, they said clear bags only, but I swear I was the only one who brought a clear bag haha! You just walk through a metal detector. They give out a stiff scarf for your dog when you leave. Otherwise, lots of lights, lots of things to do with your family. Performances, shops, and games if you walk around the stadium.

Ice skating (it started raining so not many people were on the ice)

This Christmas-inspired, light maze attraction had us all super pumped and excited to check it out over the holidays. Even when we were on a flight landing at SJC 2 days before Thanksgiving, we already saw the huge Christmas tree and all the lights set up at PayPal Park across the street, and from the air, I was already oohing and aahing! Fast forward to 4 weeks later, and there we were with more family (6 adults + 2 kids) all feeling like we were about to walk into Disneyland on Christmas morning! My in-laws even treated everyone to the "VIP Experience" and preferred parking in the Audi lot, so parking and entrance were a breeze. I feel like Enchant deserves 3.5 stars overall, but I'm still feeling the Christmas spirit, so I'm bumping it up to 4. The reason is that with all the VIP upgrades our group had, we really didn't feel that the extras were very VIP at all and certainly not worth the extra $25+ per person. The website said that you get a special VIP lounge area where you get a complimentary welcome drink, some Enchant souvenirs, and other perks. Well the complimentary drink was either a watered down cranberry & vodka that was mostly ice, a "mocktail" of some sugary blue raspberry drink, or a plastic bottle of water. You would think that in keeping with the theme and the cold winter nights, they'd maybe offer hot chocolate, hot cider, mulled wine, and maybe even some Hot Toddies! The VIP souvenirs were also a miss. A canvas tote bag (maybe the best item), a cheap medal to wear around your neck (why?), and a choice of either a s'mores snack or an ugly headband that looks like Santa's legs are up in the air as he is diving down a chimney, but instead of a chimney it's your head... Pretty much the kind of things that all will probably end up in a landfill unfortunately. We would have preferred just a simple little ornament that says Enchant or something. None of the gifts even say "Enchant" on them except the tote bag. As far as the "other VIP perks," they were nonexistent. It was a bit of a letdown considering how much the whole thing cost. To end my first review of 2024 on a positive note though, I will say that the light maze itself is fantastic! You're surrounded by lights and going through an interactive maze looking for the magic stars to help put Santa's Magic Timepiece back together (the theme of the maze). Along the way we saw elves performing, got a pic with Santa, danced around the color-changing lit dance floor, and were in awe of all the beautiful lights and 100-foot Christmas tree. If it returns next year to San Jose (this holiday season the attraction was set up in 7 cities across the country), I'd say that despite our less than stellar experience, it's still a fun & festive activity for the holidays overall!

What time is night owl start?

It depends on the day. You'll need to go look at the date you wish to go. Some days it's 830 and other days it's 9:30pm

Is the venue covered? Trying to understand if OK to go on a rainy day.

The light maze and ice skating are not covered. We went last night and it was raining lightly the whole time (you can bring an umbrella). The only things covered are some of the vendors, pictures with Santa, and the VIP lounge.

    Rain at the event?

Enchant is still open if it is raining. Not everyone comes prepared for cold weather events, but they should be wearing jackets.

I snacked on some savory filipino empanadas from Tita Weewin's and a delicious sushi taco from Aki (a vendor based in SF). I enjoyed the live music taking place throughout the festival. On the main stage, Ryan Woodward & J Stewart played a variety of songs on the guitar and vocals, like Tom Petty and Dave Matthews Band covers, followed by the Sean Carscadden Trio entertaining the crowd on Saturday afternoon. Other tribute bands were scheduled to take the stage throughout the two-day event too, as well as street performers such as Bob Culbertson, a musician playing lovely tunes, including the Harry Potter theme song, on the chapman stick, a unique string instrument I was unfamiliar with until this day. In addition, the event offered art workshops and fun activities for kids, like a spider jump bungee trampoline and water ballerz (giant "hamster balls" for humans to climb inside and walk on water). It's amazing to see how all-out so many of the houses go, just about every single one has some sort of Christmas or Hanukkah display, light, or decoration. It's also amazing how much more crowded it gets every year. I used to drive it, but now I don't dare try. I'll typically park near one of the main streets and get out and walk. This is usually much more enjoyable since you aren't having to fight nonstop car and foot traffic. This year I went a little late in the season and even walking it wasn't all that enjoyable because of the groups of 15+ people together and the people running around doing a scavenger hunt, so lesson learned. This past year we parked a bit further and got to see some displays that I either haven't seen in the past or are newer, but it was nice to stroll the less crowded streets and still enjoy the holiday magic. What we thought would be a short stroll turned into a full holiday experience, one of those nights where Christmas feels alive. We have seen many decorated streets and cul de sacs before, but Willow Glen surprised us. Multiple neighborhoods followed shared themes, with streets labeled things like Candy Cane Lane and Santa's Sleigh and Reindeer. It felt like walking through a storybook, where each street had its own chapter. The decorations were beautiful and thoughtful. Some areas felt like a small festival, with trains, horse carriages, brews on bicycles, and families everywhere enjoying the moment. Vendors selling churros, hot chocolate, hot dogs, and light up toys added to the fun. These streets truly embody Christmas, warm, joyful, and full of wonder. The highlight of the night was meeting Mrs. Santa Claus of Willow Glen. She was kind, welcoming, and full of heart. She hosted the churro truck and clearly gives so much back to the community. She felt like the soul of the neighborhood, a reminder that Christmas magic often comes from people, not just lights. Bring your family and friends and take your time walking around, or enjoy it from your car. There is so much to see and feel here. This is the kind of place that turns a simple evening into a memory, and it will definitely be an annual Christmas tradition for us.

We loved the games that were in the kit, my partner was called as he was a winner of the scavenger hunt! We joined everyone to put our lantern into the water. We were one of the first. When we returned to our vantage point, we could view a current of people and lights heading to the water, melodic music was playing in the background, and the beauty of the night sky created the perfect setting. It was a lovely event for couples, families, friends and groups to enjoy a delightful evening in a very large community. Things to note: ~Get there early for easy parking and a good seat on the grass ~Bring a blanket to sit on ~Bring extra markers as they only give you one color in your kit ~Meet your neighbors and enter the scavenger hunt! You may win a fun prize

There was no parking at or near the festival, but it was a nice day for a walk (and my running day)…read moreanyway, so I was fine with this. They accepted both cash and credit cards for the $5 admission fee at the entrance. Taking place at the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, there was plenty of outdoor space for food, drink, and merchandise vendor booths. So many delicious bites sold throughout, from grilled meats to classic greek desserts, I was overwhelmed with choices, but having too much good stuff to choose from is not a bad thing. I ended up grabbing a few delectable specialty dishes, including some to take home, like tiropita, spanakopita, pastitsio, and moussaka. That greek lasagna was especially yummy! Greek beer and wine, and cocktails, as well as frappes/coffee, were available on site too. Church tours were scheduled throughout the day, and of course live entertainment. Music and dance performances full of energy and smiles, embracing the culture, and keeping the crowd in good spirits with lovely sounds. This included live music by Mythos, with open public dancing. A unique song selection played, beyond just classic fast-paced greek tunes. Think a mashup of greek melodies and Wipe Out, yup those musicians definitely kept it interesting. I was captivated by the footwork as guests engaged in chain dancing in front of the stage. The mayor of San Jose joining in the fun as well, putting on his best moves on the dance floor. Also, a greek dance performance by Ethnos on Sunday afternoon (and multiple times throughout the 3-day event), a group of middle school kids dressed in costume showcasing their talents for the crowd. There were plenty of tables and seating throughout, including an air-conditioned indoor hall, and even the entire entertainment stage area outside was shaded for the comfort of guests. Wow, amazing! The festival was organized incredibly well, and a detailed event program and map was available online, which was ideal for attendees to plan ahead of time while learning a little bit of history about the food, traditions, and more. A joyful atmosphere and great sense of community, altogether.

I never received a reply. Offerings: * Lots of rides for kids 3 ft or taller. Four rides for kids under 3 ft. * Alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages available. Good looking churros for sale.

It was nice to get out and get some fresh air and hang out with family. Unfortunately, the…read moreambiance wasn't up to normal par. The big tree was a little disappointing and the trees on the outside weren't lit up, so they were difficult to see. My next opinion carries two thoughts. I was so happy to share Christmas in the Park with my 7-year-old nephew and my sister who lives in Southern CA. We were all super excited. Then at once we came upon a tree with a photo of the cutest child. Then I noticed wings on the tree. Actually, I noticed the wings first and then the child's photo. Initially I was like, oh, that's cool to put angel wings on the tree. Then I saw the photo and my heart sank. My niece who was closer was able to read that the child had passed away. It totally ruined my vibe. Was this appropriate for a festive park? That entire section had photos of people who had passed away. So, here's the other thought on my opinion. I saw a picture of an adult female and then I thought, "What a wonderful way to memorialize her for the season." I had missed emotions, but I would have preferred to overlook this section altogether. For years we would come and my small child would get this plastic Rudolph that would be on a stick. I probably got him that thing 3-years in a row. I was hoping to grab one for my nephew this year...ha ha, it's been over twenty years, and they didn't have any of the plastic blow ups for sale, but they did have hot chocolate. I'm not sure if the vendor now is the same as the one over twenty years ago, but this hot chocolate was clearly Swiss Miss or Nestle. It was basic, but the exciting part were the toppings... we had whipped cream, sprinkles, a candy cane and a little plastic snowman's head. We got the large, which was totally unnecessary and not just because of the $11 cost. Noticeably missing were the snow machines throughout the park, but my nephew was probably too young to enjoy it anyway. Also parking around the perimeter is impossible because they block all the parking. You can circle around to find a park or do what we did and just park in the lot next to the skating rink, which is across the street. I believe it was $2 per 20 minutes. Here's What I Think... If you've never been, check it out. It's nice to see the efforts the children and organizations put into decorating their trees. For me, it'll be another few years before I go back.
