I fell in love with an arrangement Aileen posted on her IG page and she did her best to recreate it for me. The arrangement was delivered Sunday morning and my mom was so surprised and happy! Eileen agreed to refund the cost of the Roses, but told me that I was lucky to have only been charged what I was charged because of how hard she worked to put everything together. There are all sorts of costuming options , whether you are designing your own or want a ready-made getup. Perhaps the most impressive feature are the displays of decorations including a small in-store haunted house that you can walk through, and all sorts of animatronic characters. All of which are for sale. The thing that I like about Spirit is that if you're serious about costuming you can find higher end make-up and prosthetics compared to what you'll find at Wallyworld or other department stores. It's going to cost a little bit more than the bargain-bin stuff because you're buying a better quality product. Having been tutored by my daughter (a professional makeup and theatrical costumer who has worked in the film industry and whose custom one-of-kind Halloween costumes have received national recognition) on how to build my own woochies and special effects make up, Spirit is is only store I can find reasonable quality materials (outside of professional trade shops) to create truly wonderful costumes. I'm proud to say I have won several costume contests for myself and friends who I have costumed, using items I have found at Spirit. It is my 100% "go-to" shop. On this occasion, the lady at the counter accused our son of breaking an item and went on a rant about it. Now accidents happen, I can't say for sure that her claim was true as I didn't see it occur. As parents, we would have gladly paid for the item, but instead she removed it from the storefront and went after our son and his father. Unacceptable on all levels!!! There is always a calm resolve to situations like these, she did not remain composed or in check. How disappointing for such a quaint town, for our visit to be overshadowed by a basement-dwelling troll with absolutely no customer appreciation at all. The Grinch stole Christmas and resides here in Jerome. Shame on this business owner, you really should consider turning this store into an online store, a museum or even bettet yet, do this community a favour and close your doors!
