Not too long ago my haircare brand (that I use due to my allergies) changed their formula. They didn't notify salons or third party sellers so it's been difficult to find the old formula and stock up until they change it back. Let me start off by saying I was 12 minutes late to my appointment and the staff was nice. But nice doesn't matter since I was given the worst haircut of my life. The whole time she was cutting my hair she kept saying how my hair was super straight so it's hard to cut... I should've just told her to stop and walk out. The layers were choppy, uneven, and she kept cutting it shorter and shorter. I already had short hair, all I asked was for a slight reshape of the bottom to a "soft u" shape with light long layers. And to top it all off, she ended my haircut saying "I'll fix your hair for free, you came late so it is what it is." I'm now glad I came late, otherwise she'd cut even more out! Not happy at all. Randomness is sometimes nice, sometimes enchanting too. On a slow-moving weekday, I had an interview at nearby hospital. I looked into the mirror at home and asked, "Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the messiest hair of all?!" I needed the mirror's advice. These past few months, my thin, straight-ish/wavy Asian hair became very dry, tangled, and looked like I lit the ends with a torch. Probably due to stress, my scalp became very dry and my hair started getting unmanageable. Although I loved my long hair when I straightened/curled it, I really needed to snip it off to a manageable length. I have been to 1 hair stylist my entire life but she's in GA and I'm here, so trying to find a new stylist gave me anxiety. I researched multiple places around Walnut Creek but ended up deciding on Enchanted Hair Salon due to all of the raving reviews and price. I was able to make a same day appointment with Lek for a regular haircut. When I entered the salon, Lek and Ken were busy with their clients, but greeted me and they were very friendly. The salon was clean, bright, and had a bomb playlist. I arrived to my appt a bit early so I kept myself busy in the waiting area. Lek was apologetic for starting my appt 5 minutes late even though it didn't bother me. I really appreciate her being aware of the time because my old stylist would have me waiting 1+ hours after my appt time and never apologized. Once I was in the chair, Lek brushed my hair out and we measured how much I wanted to cut off. After brushing out my hair some more, Lek recommended I keep the shape of my hair, not cut it as short as we originally agreed, and she would give me long layers. Throughout the cut, Lek would explain to me why she was doing what she was doing, which really helped my anxiety. After doing a thorough check and styling, Lek showed me the results, and I absolutely love my haircut. The length is shorter than what Lek wanted it to be, but I really love where the ends hit my shoulder. The service was quick, gentle, and engaging. The hair stylists are so friendly and take their time. While I was there, both Lek and Ken knew every customer coming in by name which means they've built up a network of returning customers (major green flag). 10/10 over all. I went in here on a whim coming from Pete's coffee with my son. Noticed this was a new hair salon but also saw men going in! I thought perfect, my 2 year old needed a cut pronto. I'm so happy we did. We walked into such a fresh salon, the modern and sleek look, welcomed us in with such happy faces and stylists laughing with their clients. One thing I do love is a "family" atmosphere, so overhearing conversations, these clients are loyal and definitely trust their stylists.. which made it so comforting for me, since I'm not from this area. I would definitely come back here with my whole family from SF. Li did the "good boy" cut on my son and even corrected it, as previous stylist from a different salon messed it up. She implemented a lot of info, which was very nice of her as it's obvious, I'm a new mom to a boy with some thin hair. So she told me how to style it, which works best, and how to maintain his fresh cut. As far as my son, she was patient, caring, and did her very best to make sure he knew what was going on and the buzzing was just a sound that wouldn't hurt him. She took her time with him and made sure I was very satisfied with his cut. Overall, I love everything walking in here. They have a cute "waiting space," very cozy with magazines, shelves full of hair products (that they don't try to sell you on), as well as such a cute front space. Again, very cozy and welcoming since it's so bright yet dark interior. I love how everyone here is so friendly, welcoming, and just very easy to trust. I just got my hair cut here for the first time (also the first time in the past 3 years) and had an amazing experience! I moved to the area a little over 2 years ago and have been putting off finding a new hair salon because my hair is so fragile and thin, a lot of places tend to make it look choppy or try to give me "layers for volume" which ends up making my hair look thinner. I finally had enough, did some research and found Enchanted, and I will say they have a new customer for life! Lek did my hair cut and was very honest with me from the beginning, letting me know it would be best to cut most of my hair off to achieve the fuller look I came in wanting, and no more layers!!! She took the time to explain to me why the specific cut was important to get the thicker look for hair like mine, and showed me all the products she used and explained how they would help get the look I want. I've been coming here since they opened post Supercuts era and although the staff is friendly, I noticed they have become detached from the professional norms of a hair salon. The conversation is focused on personal interests and not on the customer experience, regular phone call interruptions despite the scheduling app, and somewhat inconsistent haircuts. I seem to be repeating the same instructions despite coming here for years and addressing issues with little concern. I needed a cut on a kind of last minute basis and based on the Yelp reviews, I decided to try Enchanted. The reviews mostly looked great, but I admit I was a bit apprehensive based on the few negative reviews, particularly one where the poster had hair similar to mine. I went ahead and took a chance, and the whole experience was wonderful. I hadn't had a hair cut in a long time so I really needed a refresher. The hairdresser (Elishiah) was friendly, listened to what I was suggesting and also offered her suggestions, and then delivered exactly what I was hoping for. She was efficient but I didn't feel at all rushed and I actually appreciate that the appointment didn't take up half of my day. I happened to see who I think was the owner cutting a man's hair, and asked if they also cut children's hair (which they do), so I took my middle school-aged son the next day for a cut. He saw Ken, who was also really great. Ken asked what we wanted (and we didn't really have any preferences), so he suggested what to do and delivered. My son looked great and said to me as we were leaving that he liked this cut the best out of all the different hair cuts he's had. We'll definitely be back! read more

I've been getting my haircut at Enchanted Hair Salon for a while now and have been satisfied with Li as my hair stylist. I think there's a certain level of professionalism and normal etiquette between customer and business. Everyone's time is valuable so when an appointment is made, it should be respected both ways. Customers arrive on-time or a few minutes early and business honors the scheduled appointment. With that said, I do understand sometimes things happen and previous appointment goes over a few minutes or so. I get it. I arrived about three minutes before my scheduled appointment. I see she's cutting another client's hair so I just sat in the waiting area. Her male colleague was professional enough to check in with me (which was great...even though he was cutting a young boy's hair). I told him I had an appointment with Li in a few minutes. He politely asked me to wait while she finishes up. I sat there for almost 25 minutes with no acknowledgement from Li that she was really going over the scheduled time...nothing! Clearly the current client wasn't going over from the previous appointment. It was a man's haircut which usually takes 20-30 mins...40 mins max. I'm guessing she either accepted a walk-in customer even though I had called the day before to schedule a time with her. She can see me waiting patiently from her station. I didn't make a scene (as that is not me). I just got up and left. Clearly, there's no respect for people's time. And walk-ins somehow have first priority over scheduled appointments with a repeat customer. Don't get me wrong. Li can do decent haircuts but if you respect your time and have some sort of baseline...bare minimum etiquette, you might want to go elsewhere! read more

I've been supporting Li with business for the last 3 to 4 years. I was disappointed that she discriminates. I had an appointment at 1:45. Another client, said his appointment was for 2. She tells me that she's busy and can't see me but was willing to see the male at 2 instead. I wouldn't support this type of business. This isn't the first time I've seen similar problems at this company. I give them chances to improve but it gets worse because they are money hungry and not interested to keep loyal clients happy. She prioritizes men, even if you have an appointment and drive over 30 mins to make it to your appointment. I will not be coming back here. P.s. to the manager's/Li's reply to my review. You did not say you would take me after because you know there were other appointments after she would be done with the man. Secondly, I did not make a scene at all, I only said my appointment is before his and Li responded "I'm behind, i can't" no apology nor compassion and I walked out. Supposedly other clients complained? Sad, you are taking desperate measures at making up stories for the public to think I'm a client having a tantrum? You are actually lucky I did not cause a scene but trying to make your own customer who helps keep your doors open to pay your bills, look crazy and that they are lying is not a good strategy for your low end business, just fyi. All your employees lack personality and need to be trained instead of acting like professionals when you have alot to learn about the industry and actually giving good service. I found Ken! After years of hair styling by Ken at another location, I was surprised to learn he had moved to a new salon. I was so excited to see him today for my first cut at Enchanted Hair Salon. This new spot is modern and fresh compared to his old location and it's adjacent to Peet's and so many restaurants. Ambiance and music were great and parking was abundant. Li and Irene were friendly and welcoming and super happy. Loved that I was able to book my next cut at time of payment rather than have to call day of. The reservation system sent me a text message to remind me of the next appointment too. Great new modern tech. Ken's styling was spot on. He was friendly, talkative and very attentive to me.
