Located in a tiny strip mall it was hidden. Such a hidden gem, it was so cute inside. We were greeted and offered water or Alani. Yes, please!! Inette listened me explaining the look I was hoping for and she translated it into a look better than my wedding day! She created a smoky eye that made my eyes pop, matched foundation to my skin tone PERFECTLY, and applied a lip color that stayed put for 12 hours (no matter what I ate or drank). My review would be zero stars if it was possible. Make sure you read the reviews and note how long in between positive reviews. We had a contract which is incredibly detailed and shouldn't have been a problem until a week or two before the wedding that she double booked on our wedding day which led to concerns about her making it to SF in time from Walnut Creek on a holday weekend Friday. When voicing concerns, she will inflexible, unprofessional in her concerns and communication. She clearly has issues with clients when you see her contract and it felt like it was set up to be a money grab. We could not worry about her being on time and ruining our special day so we found a more professional make-up artist. I do not recommend ths company or how they operate. They should do everything they can do accommodate the bride on her special day. read more

I'd like to preface this review by saying the employees of the salon were incredibly kind and talented. The owner, Inette, not so much. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding party and had my makeup done by Inette at The Glam Bar. The maid of honor and I had the first appts in the morning and we arrived 5 minutes late due to last minute wedding prep errands. We value the time of the artists and apologized and graciously accepted that there would be a late fee. Inette made a point to mention the fact that we were late multiple times, even going to the point of saying that SHE always plans way ahead and would never be late because she's just that type of person. It was incredibly uncomfortable and felt unnecessarily condescending. She also wasn't accommodating in the slightest for the bridal party. The maid of honor was told there would be a table to setup breakfast items and refreshments for the bridal party since the services were going to last from 9am-2pm (and no one wants a group of hungry bridesmaids!). The table provided was a very small cocktail table awkwardly positioned in the back corner where we were later told we weren't allowed to congregate to snack and chat with the bride while she was getting her makeup done. We understood it was a small shop and tried our best to be respectful of the artists and out of the way but Inette seemed annoyed with us at every move. My makeup was very disappointing. At one point she wiped under my eye so closely with a paper towel with alcohol on it that i got alcohol in my eye and it was burning. My eye makeup still turned out ok but I had to completely remove and redo my foundation because it was super pale and overly moisturized, so much so my face was slick. I couldn't help but feel it was partially intentional because she was so irritated with us being late. Luckily the brides hair and makeup still turned out beautifully but the general consensus from the bridal group is the customer service from Inette is severely lacking. read more

I was so excited to make my first appointment. I was appreciative of the email confirmation, and marked my calendar. Unfortunately I had an unexpected issue arise and needed to cancel. I reviewed the cancellation policy and believed I was well within the terms. I called to cancel then planned to call back to reschedule. The woman I spoke to was nice, cancelled my appointment without comment. She then followed up with a surprise email saying they had charged my credit card $165! I called to clarify, apologised for the misunderstanding and asked for their flexibility because I wanted to reschedule. Unfortunately all I was met with were all the reasons they would not be flexible. I apologised again for the misunderstanding and while I was apologising she interrupted me and accused me of not letting her talk! Only to talk more about how she would not be flexible. So, I said thank you very much and I won't be spending any money with you. If you can't be flexible with a new client, you lose all of their future business, including their friends. What happens if there is an issue with the service? No flexibility? Beware. I'm sure there's many other options with better customer service. read more

Love, love, love this little jewel box! If you were like me, and grew struggle-hair throughout Covid, then you and your hair were in desperate need of some TLC! My longtime hair dresser (Ada at Signature Blowouts) was working from here, and of course, I would have done anything to get a proper do! As soon as I walked in, I was in love. A totally unexpected location in Walnut Creek, but this little spot is so adorable, you gotta do it. Super cute touches, studio lighting, all the girly little frills. And yes, they are taking all the Covid precautions, which includes one client in the salon allowed at once. I did a cut and color - which came out BOMB. If I wasn't watching my budget, I would have picked up some of the makeup they had on sale too, which was J Lo for Inglot. Glitter glitter glitter everywhere! Maybe I'll go back just to pick up that body glitter. I can never resist, LOL. I have used glam bar twice in the past and was generally happy with their services. I had an appt scheduled and found out the day prior that my photographer was sick and needed to reschedule. I called glam bar right away to see if they would let me reschedule but said that is not an option and they would be charging me the full amount. If I were basing this review strictly on how my hair and make up turned out, I would definitely give it a five star review. However, communicating with Inette was unlike any other make up artist/hairstylist I've ever worked with. I set up appointments for myself and an elderly friend who is not very computer savvy and does not have a smart phone. When I made the appointments online it was very clear that there was no refund for Saturday appointments after the initial 24 hour grace period. Immediately after booking I realized I had some questions and reached out. Despite my best efforts nobody answered the phone and I did not get any return phone calls. Should have cancelled but didn't. After the 24 hours had passed, I realized that my services were now nonrefundable with both my friend and I having over $300 in services each booked. When I finally heard back from Inette she was very passive-aggressive in her responses to me. She would say things like, "Was there something on the website you found confusing because most people are able to figure it out pretty easily." During our conversation she made several remarks like this to the point where I almost wanted to say "Well I guess I'm just an idiot and can't figure things out. " One of those things was that I had booked for hairstyle, half up half down, but actually wanted all down I've never heard of this before were you have to differentiate hairstyles, such as all down versus half and half. Had I been able to cancel our booking, I would've done so just based on my initial conversation with her. However at that point I felt like we were stuck and didn't want to lose out on the money so I had to just go along with her ridiculous comments to me I also explained that my friend is not computer savvy and it would be difficult for her to get a picture of what she wants her hair to look like because she doesn't use a smart phone Inette offered zero flexibility and said it's a requirement that we send in a picture ahead of time. I asked about the timeline since we had booked back to back services each lasting 90 minutes I asked if there was any way that we might finish early if one of the services didn't take the full 90 minutes. Again with her very passive- aggressive tone she proceeded to tell me that she runs exactly on time and that if one service is booked from 9 to 1030 and another from 1030 to noon then she will stick to that timeline exactly. (Of course in all actuality, we did finish early since the services did not take a full 90 minutes) When I was there, she asked me to tell her about the event I was going to. I thought she was making small talk like my regular hair gal often does so I started telling her about the function that evening. After about 10 seconds she cut me off and said "I don't need the whole back story I just need to know the basics so I can do your make up accordingly." Okaaayyyy...... Again, she really did an exceptional job on hair and make up and for that I was thankful. However, her attitude, inflexibility and rigidity was enough that I will likely not go back. With lots of options available in the area, customer service should always be a priority. read more

Wow! Where should I start, when I walked in I was promptly greeted, the space was easy to find, clean and smelt amazing, comfortable space love the set up. Before my service (natural make up) I was prompt to wash my hands and shortly after Inette did the same, she sanitized each item she use right after with 70% alcohol which allowed me to feel comfortable, the conversation and the welcoming that she gave me during my graduation was amazing! She made my experience very enjoyable the cherry on top was seeing the end results. My most recent visit was with Inette so this review focuses primarily on my experience with her. I had gone in for natural make up for our annual family photo shoot. This was my first time with Inette so I didn't know what to expect. When I got there she was very kind, welcoming, and did a great job of talking me through her process. Throughout the appointment she would frequently check in and ask how I was liking the look so far and for my preferences. I have never been good at applying or knowledgeable about make up but she made sure I was involved in the entire process and was getting exactly what I wanted. She was great at communicating what she was doing at each step which I found very helpful.
