The repair was done beautifully -- the stitching is clean, strong, and looks almost like original. You can tell they really care about quality and detail. Very disappointed and will never return. Evidently there was miscommunication. One shoe heel came loose. I expected both worn heels to be replaced. I paid the requested prepayment of $40 and was told it would take two weeks. When I picked up my shoes, I noticed the heels had not been replaced. He explained the loose heel had been glued. Two weeks and $40 to glue a heel?? Ridiculous amount of money and wasted time for something I could have done at home. I would not recommend this repair service to anyone. read more

First time visit. Needed the sole glued back on to a work boot for my son. He'd paid $150 on Amazon for a pair of Keen work boots so wanted to get as much life out of them as possible. Faruk gave excellent advice and a truly decent price. He called when the boot was ready and it was a few days early. My son wears that pair 4 days a week and they're still going strong. Most amazing? I made a special trip here on my lunch hour to inquire about a purse strap repair and was given very little help by a vague young guy. Tip: there is NO parking for this location. Love this place and have used them for years. Most recently, they re-soled my favorite pair of boots--an obscure Australian brand where the sole is complex and theoretically hard to replace. But Farrukh and crew found a way to sand down the old sole, glue on a new Vibram sole, and make it look so good that you can barely tell. Brought my shoes in for simple polishing and the completely destroyed my Cole Haan dress shoes. These were shoes that were hardly worn and would have lasted a lifetime. I'm so hurt and disappointed. Let me start with saying my girlfriend recommended this store,and I really wanted to like them. That said, this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a store, and I don't say that lightly. When I dropped off my two pairs of dress shoes for new soles, I was left standing at the counter for about 10 minutes while those in the back kept looking at me. Eventually one came out and explained that they thought someone else was taking care of me. Disorganization of the entire store was apparent - bags of shoes all over, no method of knowing who's are where. I dropped them off on 11/9, and he told me two weeks. After 4 weeks, I call the store, leave a message, and get no response. I call the store again another day, no answer, leave another message - no response. I go into the store on Saturday, They spent 10 minutes looking all over the store for the guy's shoes in front of me. The other customer eventually goes to the back himself to find his shoes. He finds them still being worked on after the promised date. He also called the store for status, left a message - no response. Now it's my turn. I give the gentleman at the register my slip. He spends about 5 minutes (i was lucky!) looking around and finds my shoes hanging right underneath the front counter. "What's the problem?", you ask. They hand't been touched in the entire month they were been there. At this point, I just ask for my $125 back. The guy manning the front - genuinely nice and trying to help, but didn't have a clue - calls the owner to figure out how to process a refund. 3 people standing behind me at this point. The owner asks to speak to me, so the guy hands me the phone, his hands shaking (I felt bad for him), and the owner tries to convince me through the phone "Give me two more days!" I''ll have it done in 2 days!" Of course, when I brought them in, the guy explained it would take 2 weeks, because he need to order the soles (which they hadn't done). Eventually got my refund, which is the only reason it gets 2 stars instead of one. I'm a little sad writing this. It's the worst review I think I've given. read more

I used to think that shoe repair was an art that had died out with the likes of house call physicians and milk delivery. However, when my favorite Argentinean leather boots were beginning to bear witness to my wearing them day in and day out, I decided it was time to fire up the time machine and seek professional help. I've gone to Enchanted Shoes for leather conditioning and weather proofing (that spray stuff from the store just can't compare!), heel replacement for pumps that have seen more than their share of nights out, broken zippers, and even that once that I had the *perfect* shoes that just needed a little stretching and I couldn't bear to break in. (All of the aforementioned shoes are pretty much perfect and ever-lasting by now, thanks!) Enchanted Shoes repairs non-shoe-related leather as well, and while I've never needed help in that area, if ever I did they'd be the first place I'd go. The owner, fondly referred to as Dr. Shoe, will chide you on the state of your strappy sandals but gives them back to you good as new. He can fix, glue, or clean shoes in the worst state of disrepair all with a manic gleam in his eye. I heard so many people recommend this place that when I needed the manufacturer's heel tips on my 2 - 3 year old boots replaced, I didn't even shop around. I took them in last October/November, and they were repaired and polished in a pretty reasonable amount of time. At first I was thrilled--the new heel was some sort of rubber, which was much quieter on hard surfaces. But by January, the heel was back down to a nub. So I took them back and explained that I'd just had them fixed. The guy at the counter said "you must wear these a lot" (actually, I wore them less often than usual at that time, since I didn't travel with them over the holidays), and offered me a slight discount to use a better material for another repair. I agreed, thinking maybe the first time was a fluke and I should give them another chance, even though I didn't really think I should have to pay to re-do such shoddy work at all. Unfortunately, by early April--less than 4 months--both heels were worn through, and one even fell completely off (which sent me scrambling for super-glue to get through an event). I notice that a lot of the reviews here are either by people who've never had shoes repaired or who had work other than shoe repair done. I frequently got my shoes repaired when I lived in another city, and no matter where I took them, the heel tips were always replaced with material equal to or better than the manufacturer's, and they lasted at least as long. Enchanted may be good at other jobs, like leather repair or key cutting, I don't know. But I certainly can't recommend them for shoe repair. read more

I've gotten boot heels replaced here a few times and have so far been happy with their work. Also had a seam repaired on the inside part of the zipper. The heels wear down after a while cause I walk a fair amount, but I think they last about as long as the original heels did. Turnaround time is about a week and they've always been ready on time. Prices aren't cheap but pretty reasonable and much better than replacing shoes. Check their website before you go, there's usually a coupon available to print out. I did have a pair of boots conditioned recently and were hoping they'd be a little more new-looking when I got them back, but I guess they were fairly worn and scuffed to begin with. I've never had shoes repaired...anywhere. However, I've had a pair of black UGG boots that had salt stains to the point that I was embarrassed to wear them. When Enchanted Shoe Repair had a Groupon, I jumped at it- what a perfect time to get these boots cleaned!! I took in both pairs of UGG boots to get waterproofed and had the black ones cleaned. A week later, I was able to pick them up and was very happy with the results. My black boots looked good as new. They weren't as soft, as I think they were "spray painted" but it didn't really matter, so long as the salt stains were gone! I'd definitely return here in the future to have my shoes repaired/cleaned. Not sure if they have new people working here since the previous reviews about poor service, but the service I received was very good. Good work, bad service. I took in a pair of Vasque Sundowner boots to Enchanted Shoe Repair that I've worn for 12 years. They needed new soles and a small crack in the leather needed to be repaired. I shine the leather on a regular basis so the leather has held up great and looks better than new. As far as the quality of work goes, it was great. I paid around $60 for a set of Vibram soles and the minor leather repair. The boots are normally $180-$200, so a small price to pay to keep a pair of boots that have carried me hundreds of miles and that I have an emotional attachment to. As mentioned in previous reviews, you get a discount for paying up front. Although I didn't pay up front, at pickup I mentioned that their website listed a 10% discount for mentioning the ad, which they honored. As far as customer service is concerned, they need to work on time management or their organizational skills. The employee who initially took my boots didn't write anything down (ie the soles we selected from a magazine or the leather repair). I told him I wasn't in a hurry, so taking more than several days was fine. After a week or two I got a voicemail from a different employee who said there was some sort of mistake and the soles hadn't been ordered but they were ordering them and the boots would be done in several days. I called a week later and was told they were swamped. Around a month into it, I called because I was nervous about a caveat on my receipt that basically said they took ownership of shoes after a month. Judging by my phone calls (the day before and the day of pickup) it only took a small amount of time to do the job, it was just a matter of them getting to it. read more

So I took my most beloved pair of shoes ever to Enchanted because everyone raves about them. I will say that my shoes were in terrible shape.. the leather was all scuffed up and ripped in areas.. there was a chunk of heel missing.. not a pretty picture. I had been afraid to take them anywhere for a long time because they are really amazing shoes! Vintage french bronze flats with a beautiful red soles and insides.. these things can never be replaced! Anyway, the guy said he would do his best, and.. the truth is, I don't think he did. The coloring that he did was okay. but my real problem is with the heel. It was just missing the little pad thing that goes on the bottom, and he (sloppily) cut out a new one and stapled it on. STAPLED! Now I have a staple sticking out the bottom of my shoe and have to be really careful on, say, hardwood floors or anything that will scratch. I have been meaning to take them back to have him re-fix this issue, but I haven't had time. The guy is nice and seems really into what he does. I don't know if an intern worked on my shoes or what, but I am not happy with the results. read more

I will have to agree with John. The quality of work is great, but the service, not so much. I received a pair of winter boots for my birthday and after about a month's usage, the zipper on one of the boots developed a snag which required the whole zipper to be replaced. I took it in and did not pay up front as this was my first time at this store and I wanted to make sure the quality was there before they took my money. Anyway, I did call a day before my boot was to be completed to see if was finished early and unfortunately it was not. I went in the next day and waited around 20 minutes for the person at the desk to find my boot. Another person walked in and another person had to search for her belongings as well, but she was out of the shop before me. They finally found my boot (thank goodness) and I ended up paying a $37. This is my first time having something repaired at a shop, but this seems a bit steep to pay for just a zipper. I must mention, he did quote me the price when i dropped off my boot. The zipper is perfect I must say, just the lack of organization is what needs to be improved upon. read more

I've never had shoes repaired at Enchanted Shoe Repair. In fact, I've never had shoes repaired anywhere. It seems like an old-time thing to do, but who am I to knock nostalgia? I do, however go to Enchanted Shoe to have copies of keys made. I don't know how the two go together: shoe store/repair store + key center = bizarre. But, it's a convenient little place to know about. The guy who works there can make you a new set of keys in a flash, but the sound is HORRIBLE. I've looked around while I was waiting, blocking out the grating sound and suppressing a need to scratch my brain. Enchanted Shoe has all men's shoes, mostly leather, some with what I hope is faux fur. These shoes can best be described as 'gators.' How's that for a mental picture? The shop hours are 'flexible,' and you'll often find a be-back-in-five-minutes sign on the door. There's free street parking out front, but be sure to read the sign about street sweeping. read more

Enchanted Shoe Repair is the first "cobbler" I've ever been to. Anyway, I had a pair of Bostonian oxfords which were getting a little beat up. For around $39 dollars I got new heels, sole protectors, and a shine & buff. I guess this is a little expensive, but it should allow me to get some extra life out of the shoes. Also, I don't really feel like looking for another pair of shoes. I guess time will tell how long the repairs last. If they don't last long rest assured I'll be updating this review. Also, as some others have said, it looks like nails/staples are used on my new heel. I could see this damaging some flooring. I would ask him about this before having the repair done. read more

After searching for leather, zipper and leather shoe repair shop I stumbled onto Enchanted Shoe Repair website. I called and after a brief chat with the owner he said just bring my items for repair into shop and we could go from there. The very next day I brought the items (leather riding chaps, leather boot) and to my amazement he stopped what he was working on and repaired both items in a matter of 10 minutes!! Unbelievable to me!! For a small fee of $32 and 12 minutes later I walked out with both items in hand and repaired. I highly recommend Enchanted Shoe Repair. I had a pair of boots resoled. One of the soles started to peel off less than a week after I picked them up. The flap that was now hanging off appeared to have never touched adhesive. They acted annoyed when I brought them back in, didn't apologize for the trouble and only offered "It happens sometimes" before asking if I was in a hurry to get them back. I waited another week, picked them up and less than a month later the other sole started to peel. I took them elsewhere this time and I'll never be returning to this shop. read more

Hills, I even took two pairs to Paris last year because there were no craftsman capable of handling my shoes. Alas, my favorite MiuMiu motorcycle boots which have logged a zillion miles, look brand new. Apparently the associate that helped me missed the fact that my shoes needed an additional $20 repair.
