Shined my boots while I waited. A little expensive, but very pleased with the results.

As evidenced in my photos, they do provide reselling services and corking services for Birkenstocks. This is a service that sometimes can be difficult to find, but they do a great job, and I was pleased with the work completed. I've had my Birkenstock sandals for years and, thanks to Dr. Shoe. they are a comfortable lifetime investment.

You walk in and the place is full of stuff; People's boots, purses, luggage, leather briefcases, leather jackets, and much much more. I had a simple problem. I needed a pair of boots stretched. I have large feet. Sasquatch like. I brought in my Ariats that have been sitting in my closet for 3 years now. The owner is behind a counter piled up with jobs he is working on and equipment he uses to do his craft. He is brusque. "$45. 2 weeks" I think at first "That's a lot to stretch some boots" I go back. He says, brusquely "If they are still tight tell me where, toes, ankles, shaft/calves? I will stretch again" I tell him that I am leaving for work and that I am a flight attendant and I won't be back in town for a month, can I try them when I get back and let him know? He looks at me and nods. I finally get home and try the boots they fit great. So in this crazy economy is $45 a lot of money? To me it is, but to pay a craftsman for a craft that will soon be hard to find, it is well worth it. Bottom Line: my expensive boots have finally made it out of the closet thanks to Dr. Shoe! Extra points for honesty - I went in the other day with a large cheap piece of luggage that had the zipper broken on an outer pocket. He said it will cost you double the cost of a new suitcase to repair that because it would have to be done all by hand and I would have to charge for my time. Thank you!

Got something caught in the zipper - could not fix it myself - was very desparate and called a dear friend who turned me to this repair shop. Across town from me and worth it. I dropped it off on a Saturday and you do have to pay up front so be prepared. Said it would take 10 days and he will call me. I let it ride for 14 days and called him to be told it was ready. Overall, don't rely on them calling you - have the initiative and set the expectation to call them. I didn't do it on Day 11 for fear he really wasn't ready. Went in with my little puppy and the owner was totally smitten with him. Spoke to him in his native language advising me "he could understand him" even though it wasn't English. Very cute. Just an overall good experience. I love his work. His prices are fair. His turn around time is awesome. He has very good hours and runs a nice operation. Thank heavens for my dear friend whom I knew would know where to turn me....I'm relieved and he's worth the drive. I don't know how many shops I called to share with them what I needed and for them to very quickly tell me "they don't do that" upon hearing how challenging the job could be given the high end leather, etc. He took it and didn't even bat an eyelash. Good worker, good business and awesome results. I love this place!
