Just a great down home cooking place with biscuits and gravy and eggs Benedict pancakes all and everything was great. My Bloody Mary was a deal at $8.50 and service was excellent.

I have been coming to this café since high school and every time that I visit it's always consistently really good. I would say that the selling point is the location and the service, the food is not the best in San Diego, but still it will be a really satisfying breakfast. Parking is very easy because you can find a street space or a free lot space in the park-and-ride parking lot in the rear, however this may be difficult on weekend mornings. All the servers and staff have always been consistently really polite and honestly, it's one of my favorite parts of coming here. Inside is very large compared to the other diner across the street and it can host many different sized groups. For this most recent visit, I chose the Avocado Benedict and thought it was OK. The eggs were a little bit overdone and the hollandaise was almost peppery, but I still enjoyed it. I also ordered a Cinnamon Roll and thought it was a great sweet treat for breakfast. It's not as light and fluffy as some other versions but more dense. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be back again.

Amazing baked cinnamon Roll!! A lot of kind staff! (Work on timely drink refills-whoever side eyed the husband we pray for you) All other staff everyone else Great! This place is easy to find from hotel or beach! Steak & eggs keto breakfast for me! Breakfast till 4 pm, yes Honorable mention nutty hot banana bread . I ate around the nuts still pretty great. As usual ate all my food and forgot to show photo

Cute place to come and have breakfast in downtown encinitas. Food was okay, the eggs and hash browns felt like it lacked some flavor/seasoning. Staff was friendly, we were sat immediately and had our order taken within minutes. Food came out fast but was still hot and fresh.

Cute spot for an easy diner-style breakfast. I came on a Thursday morning and there were plenty of seats available inside and outside. No wait time & you seat yourself. Staff was friendly and service was surprisingly quick! Menu is pretty standard breakfast items and I thought prices were fair for being right on the main strip of Encinitas. Would return if in the area but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it. Still, a tasty & hearty breakfast!

A cool breakfast and lunch diner. The place has outdoor seating, indoor seating and counter seating. It was cool. The waitress was very friendly and personable. The mimosa was spot on perfect ratio of orange juice and champagne. Very reasonably priced too. The food was made well. The 2 eggs and corned beef hash came with a biscuit and gravy and fresh fruit. The corned beef has is homemade and has great flavor. The biscuit is not the normal biscuit but still delicious. The gravy could have been hotter and more seasoning but I added more black pepper and no problem. The fresh fruit was juicy and sweet. I had my fill there and still able to take some home. Overall, great place. Lots of locals seemed to like and I can see why. A very good choice for dining.

I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and a house coffee. The coffee was actually pretty good! Cream and sugar were delivered separately to finish with your preference. As for the tacos, it was okay. The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.

After looking at the menu I decided on the corned beef hash and my friend asked me to order her kid a grilled cheese sandwich so she wouldn't have to wait to eat since it was a long drive for them. The hash was good. I should have asked them to make it a bit crispier though as is it has a lot of flavor and I saw some celery in there. Surely they are masters at greasy bacon and eggs, day old coffee, and probably little else. Wrong. Very wrong. This place may look a little ordinary from the outside but there is nothing ordinary about it. It may look like a classic diner inside but it does not sling food like an old diner. The menu is well-written and the food is high quality, excellent, and borderline gourmet. Do not order eggs, bacon, and toast here. Swing for the cheap seats. We tried the Ham, Avocado and Tomato Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was fantastic. If I didn't care about remaining somewhere under 350 pounds, I would return every Saturday and eat my way through every single eggs benedict concoction on the menu and there are many such benedict creations from which to choose. The Banana Nutella crepe, with "whip" cream (not "whipped," apparently, we're gentle with our cream here, folks), was decadent. If you like your breakfasts on the sweet side, you will enjoy this one. The Tres Porkitos omelet (made with ham, bacon, sausage, and cheese) was hearty and just as good as it sounds. The breakfast potatoes were very nicely done but could have used a little more seasoning. There is a salt shaker (and numerous hot sauces) on the table for just these types of emergencies. Do NOT leave here without getting a freshly-made biscuit with butter and honey on the side. You have made a serious error in judgment if you leave without getting one of these. Even the freshly-squeezed orange juice was delicious. Our server was wonderful. No complaints. They have dining inside or on the patio. Encinitas is a delightful community. While I loved the old school diner feel inside, you cannot go wrong with the people watching outside on one of our almost always sunny days in So Cal.
