Philz tiramisu sweet and creamy iced - one of the best coffees I've ever had
    Trevor T.

My wife LOVES Philz! She believes that Philz tiramisu sweet and creamy iced is one of the best coffees she has ever had. That is high praise from my Java enthusiast. I don't drink coffee because I know I'll get addicted. My parents drink 5-6 cups a day. I stick to tea which I've purchased from Philz many times. This location is usually busy being in the heart of Encinitas so the people watching is top notch. Enjoy!

Delicious clean taste, strong, but not bitter. Service was fast and kind, wish they wore proper uniforms or something because the girl at the counter basically had a cropped tank and I saw too much. Besides that the coffee is the best I've had in a long long time. You can tell they take flavor seriously because all my friends and families coffee I tried from here was good. Each had its own individual flavor profile and it was so smooth! Will be coming back

First time tried their coffee at this location. Had small ecstatic dark roast. Very smooth!!

First time at this location, my winter bliss flavored coffee and ham & cheese sandwich was on point. Coffee was not too sweet, just wished I could have tasted the flavor more richly. Server was prompt and courteous. It was quiet with soft music in the background. Very spacious. Seats and tables were comfortable. Restroom was clean. Thank you for putting a smile on my face today

two for now, one to go. Mint Mojito coffees.

Been my go-to coffee since 2017 and I'm glad they allowed us to do the ordering on the app and easy pick up during Covid. They're sticking true to their specialties and not giving into the trendy drinks, which I love that they do. The ambiance is chill and nice art in the corner with plenty of seating indoors and out. I love how relaxed the vibe is here. I come here to do work sometimes on my laptop and have a delicious coffee in hand. Looking forward to supporting them for years to come.

Love Philz but this location is terrible! Rude service, people that hate their job and have attitudes. Make you feel bad to ask to adjust the coffee to be a little sweeter. Most Philz ask you if your happy not tell you your order is done rudely and act mad that you ask to add some sugar (tasted like none was added and i asked for sweet and creamy) very unhappy with this location

Excellent cold brew with cream & sugar. Top tier. Highly recommend. Will return soon. Nice cups too. Great service in an amazing neighborhood

Great coffee individually brewed for each order. You need to wait for at least 10 mins to get yours done. And it's totally worth it. PhilZ started up in the Bay Area and has been a sensation since. Glad they found their spot in Encinitas. Each of the location has its local look & feel. They are also huge in supporting local economy. As Philz says- they are in "people" (and not coffee) business! Side note- Plenty of parking and seating options available.

Been coming here for years. I love their coffees. Our regular flavors are Philtered Soul and Philharmonic. We alternate between hot and iced versions of these flavors. Although I do try others from time to time, I LOVE Philharmonic!

It was one of those days where we needed an extra pick me upper, and most of the local coffee shops were closed. We decided to stop by Philz's. The baristas at the counter were very friendly. The coffee was a bit on the weaker side, but still good. We ordered the Tantalizingly Turkish from the bold and bittersweet section, but it wasn't bold at all. Tasted more like a breakfast blend. There was a hint of cardamom flavor. We also got the Iced Gingersnap. This one was actually stronger in coffee flavor. The drink was good and tasted like autumn in a cup! Not the prettiest or coziest coffee house, but it satisfied the coffee craving.

Interesting ................... Philz Coffee: hold the latte. This is a pour-over coffee restaurant. No lattes are made here. They are a true coffee shop (check out their coffee menu). On their website they have a section dedicated to sustainability and responsible sourcing, and their steps over the years for maintaining their coffee ethics. I liked the coffee I selected. Also more interesting, was that they recommended that I taste it before I left the counter. If I didn't like it, they'd adjust it for me - again interesting ............... The food selection is limited but the varieties of coffees aren't, and they'd like me to have it my way - interesting.

Came to Philz Coffee in Encinitas for the first time a few days ago. Tried their Minit Mojito which has been getting rave reviews on Yelp and YouTube. I can honestly say the reviews are spot on. Decided to go for a large creamy and sweet Mint Mojito. I enjoyed the drink so much that I took my time and savored each and every sip. It was rich and flavorful and the mint was so nice. After finishing the cup two hours later, I noticed the ample amount of mint that was at the bottom of the cup. You really get your money's worth. Today I returned and after watching videos on YouTube, I decided to order a large iced Philtered Soul (hazelnut flavor and chocolate) and had it with medium cream and sweetener in place of sugar. Another winner of a drink. Rich flavor and smooth taste. I am now a convert...goodbye Starbucks!! I have to drive a little further to get there, but it's worth it. Just make sure that if you're running short on time, place a mobile order on their app and the drink will be ready when you arrive, allowing you to skip the line to place your order in-store. It's fast and convenient. Keep up the great work Philz and thanks for a delicious cup of coffee!!

I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and a house coffee. The coffee was actually pretty good! Cream and sugar were delivered separately to finish with your preference. As for the tacos, it was okay. The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.

Surely they are masters at greasy bacon and eggs, day old coffee, and probably little else. Wrong. Very wrong. This place may look a little ordinary from the outside but there is nothing ordinary about it. It may look like a classic diner inside but it does not sling food like an old diner. The menu is well-written and the food is high quality, excellent, and borderline gourmet. Do not order eggs, bacon, and toast here. Swing for the cheap seats. We tried the Ham, Avocado and Tomato Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was fantastic. If I didn't care about remaining somewhere under 350 pounds, I would return every Saturday and eat my way through every single eggs benedict concoction on the menu and there are many such benedict creations from which to choose. The Banana Nutella crepe, with "whip" cream (not "whipped," apparently, we're gentle with our cream here, folks), was decadent. If you like your breakfasts on the sweet side, you will enjoy this one. The Tres Porkitos omelet (made with ham, bacon, sausage, and cheese) was hearty and just as good as it sounds. The breakfast potatoes were very nicely done but could have used a little more seasoning. There is a salt shaker (and numerous hot sauces) on the table for just these types of emergencies. Do NOT leave here without getting a freshly-made biscuit with butter and honey on the side. You have made a serious error in judgment if you leave without getting one of these. Even the freshly-squeezed orange juice was delicious. Our server was wonderful. No complaints. They have dining inside or on the patio. Encinitas is a delightful community.
