When I first walked in to bump coffee, I noticed in a case behind the counter they were these items. I thought they were maybe danish or croissants and then I was told no what we sell is empanadas. Bacon, ham, sausage and I remember thinking, I have never thought of having an empanada for breakfast or lunch. So yesterday, my curiosity got the best of me and I went in after my walk and bought some. All the flavors that I wanted had been sold out and are sold out every day before 10 AM. OK, reboot. I talked to the lovely lovely women behind the counter and then I think the manager or the owner came up to me and said we can sell them to you frozen and you can heat them up at home. So we did for appetizers last night. OMG! They were without a doubt the best new appetizer we have ever had, we could only eat between us three maybe two, but they were so full of flavor and cheese and a little egg and the meats. It's in a little mall next to VG so easy to find a lot of parking on the street and their lot, the service is nothing but smiles and how can I help? Cute, little open air coffee shop for grab 'n go coffee and empanadas. They are only open until 2pm so make sure to visit in the mornings. I visited just after lunch and 2 empanada flavors were left: bacon, egg, and cheese and ham & cheese. The staff member at the register said her favorite was ham & cheese and she was right! It was pretty good. The bacon, egg, and cheese flavor was just ok. There is a little bar top (standing only) to enjoy your coffee and treats. 4++ small coffee spot located in a strip mall in Cardiff. The place has a neighborhood favorite feel to it with beachy vibes probably emanating from the literal beach two blocks away. With her highly streamlined menu and quick and friendly service, this is a perfect spot to do a grab and go or to quickly enjoy your food here at the island counter where you can stand and soak everything in. I believe most if not all the coffees they do are pour overs and they only serve breakfast empanadas. Came here with my cousin a couple times now since she lives a brief walking distance from the spot. The coffee is great and the breakfast and empanadas are tasty. I got the coffee mojito and thought it was really good! It is refreshing and the agave paired really well with the coffee. I also ordered the bacon egg and cheese empanada. The empanada was so so good! The outside was warm, flakey! The bread vs filling ratio was really good, sometimes there's not enough filling in other empanada's but Bumps ratio was really good. I think this may be the best cold brew in town. It's so damn smooth. I like that this place has a basic menu. They don't have too many items which means the things that they do have are very good. The staff is very nice. I like that you can kinda just walk in walk out. There's a place to chill while you wait for your coffee which almost always comes within 30 seconds to a minute. And of course, as everyone says, the empanadas are fantastic. The parking situation while there is plenty of it can get a little dicey. The location is amazing first off. You can walk to the beach right after or even just driving along the coast, you'll see the ocean :) Anywho, the coffee was great! I get the cold brew and sweeten it with agave and oat milk. It's the perfect morning pick me up. On top of that, they have these breakfast empanadas called "rollies". It's a bit embarrassing as a local that I've not been in Bump before today. I can only plead the fact that I am usually in this little mall for donuts and the thought of standing in two lines for my morning fixes is usually too much. I'm also more of an espresso guy, so it was easy for me to make excuses not to go. This was wrong of me. There's a lot to like about Bump--it has a limited menu (empanadas exclusively) and coffee offerings, which means generally good quality. The fact that this little hole-in-the-wall also cultivates a surfer's vibe also makes it personally attractive to me, although I know that for some that might hold less appeal. I personally found the staff friendly and efficient. Best of all, and really the point of any cafe worth its salt, is the coffee. Two signature offerings, hot coffee and cold brew, available in small and large. That's it. Both are very good: they use good quality beans and they produce a simple, tasty cup of joe. They also have a number of creams--dairy and otherwise--and an agave sweetener. I should mention that that they also offer a CBD coffee drink, which I (being of an older age demographic!) have not tried. Is this the best coffee I've ever tasted? Well, no.
