Uneven sealing all throughout, super rough in many areas, lots of flakes all in landscaping, flakes lining driveway, edges of new flooring messy and crooked at best and garage stairway covered in flakes, and no way to communicate with install crew- great marketing and good sales guy- had to keep calling to get a "manager", was told to fill out a warranty claim- what warranty- this is was same day issues! Happy to share photos. Hoping to get the call in am promised with date and time of person coming to address. We will see. read more

We signed a contract with Encore Concrete Coatings for a single-color Stargazer flake coating with a lifetime warranty on May 22, 2023. When the install took place in SEP 2023, it was almost immediately defective. Additionally, Encore used 2 different colors instead of the contracted single color, & visible flaws appeared across the deck within days. Within months, the coating began chipping and failing, the very problem we had specifically raised and Encore had dismissed. Over the next 19 months (SEP 23-MAY 25), we contacted Encore at least 14 documented times to report issues, share photos, and request repairs. Encore's own reps inspected the site & acknowledged the work was below their standards. Yet the company repeatedly delayed action, offered inadequate fixes, & shifted explanations--from initially admitting a surface-preparation failure to later, more than a year after our first complaint, blaming "moisture" & claiming a "moisture barrier" was needed. Moreover, on SEP 2, 2025 after being served in Iowa Small Claims Court, the Encore COO stated, "I have been doing this a long time & I can easily tell from these photos this is a prep issue, not moisture". Until our Better Business Bureau filing, every contact & inspection had characterized the issue as a workmanship or prep failure, never a moisture problem. Assessment: this company uses the "moisture barrier" clause in their contract as a catch all to come and redo work at an additional charge to the customer. Over the course of 2 years, we made more than a dozen documented attempts to secure proper completion through direct outreach, the Better Business Bureau, & the Illinois Attorney General (Encore failed to respond after 2 inquiries), before finally filing in Iowa Small Claims Court. On OCT 9, 2025, Encore Concrete Coatings was found in civil court as negligent in installing the pool deck floor coating. I had Encore do my basement floor - three rooms and a hallway. I was home the whole day and the installers were consistently busy doing their work. The finished product looks amazing. My floor looks so nice! Lots of work they had to do, as it was necessary to completely remove the prior coating which looked older and not professionally done, they also had to repair a crack. I filled out the contact form on their website and received an email, text and voice mail (I missed the call) from three different individuals asking for more details. I replied to the email and waited. After two days without a response I called, the receptionist apologized and said a team member would call me. After another day I replied to the text. Still nothing. Called again, same response. A day later I called one more time and was told the manager was on a call and would call me right back. That was two weeks ago. read more

I do not recommend them because of the strict contract you must sign. They can and did try to reschedule my job with no compensation and could care less. I was pressed for time and explained this before I even signed the contract. Due to no fault of my own they tried to change the date and explained there is nothing I could do except forfeit my deposit and hire someone else. The price was no better then others once you start negotiating. The work done was good, but will never hire them again. read more

I was very impressed with how the Garage Floor turned out! The Coating seems to be very thick and hopefully durable. Only time will tell on the durability. We like to keep the floor clean but I do park Vehicles and perform various types of work, and that could get messy! The only downside I can see right now is that if you drop a screw, nail or nut, be ready for a challenge in finding it. Have a magnet handy. On the Service/Installation side, I was thoroughly impressed! The 2 guys spent all day prepping and performing the Sealing. They were definitely a pair of awesome workers! Couldn't speak English too well But just enough for this English Speaking only person to understand and they were very good at answering any questions I had. Would definitely recommend! The coating stsrted ppeeling from the floor within weeks! I called Encore and they sent out 2 young guys whose "repair" effort was a disaster! I commented that i wanted a redo of the whole floor and not a patch job. Management said they would send out another guy and his patching was better. So ar this point tje floor looks like a PATCH QUILT BLANKETT!! I'm not kidding (I do have pictures). I asked for them to back up there warranty and THEY WOULDN'T DO IT!! SO a number of years later my flooring feels hollow as you walk on it as the floor coating is seperating from the concrrte floor. Bottom line, STAY AWAY FROM THESE SHISTERS! read more

I would recommend Encore. They were clear about what would be done and how long it would take. They were very nice and did a great job. I guess the only thing that could have been better is if the floor had less bumps from the flakes. Its certainly not an issue, I can roll all my tool benches around without any issues. I was quite happy with the work performed and the guys who did the work. They took precautions to avoid marring doors and walls and kept me informed of the process. They had to battle wind and freezing temps towards the end of the job but went the extra mile to protect the apron during cure. Time will tell how well the coating stands up to everyday use but I am happy with how it looks now. read more

I hired them to resurface my garage floor which they did after postponing the job several times. What I wasn't prepared for was the cement dust that coated several rooms in my house and which required hours of work from me and three men from service pros. to remove. Had I known this was a possibility I never would have hired them. All the vegetables and open food in my pantry had to be thrown out because the dust was so fine and so thick that it penetrated everywhere. While the garage floor looks nice, the process of recovering from the project was awful. read more
