This company is a joke. The measurements person came out and raised the issue that homes in my area are known to have tile with asbestos. I reassured him that there was no longer any as it had been removed 25 years ago. Then I get an email stating that I have to hire an abatement company to come in and verify there is none. I responded with a picture of the floor showing nothing but concrete. They never responded until this email asking how I like the work. Which they never did as I went with another contractor. GS Flooring once again did an outstanding job in taking aware the old carpet and installing the new commercial grade flooring carpet in my workout room. They answered all my questions and cleaned up everything when they were done. This is the second time they have been to my house. Had carpeting installed by GS Floors, yesterday. They were a 3rd party thru Home Depot. Sergio & Uriel (spelling?) went way above, and beyond what I thought would be normal for a contractor to do to take care of my needs, and they were spectacular. They also had two guys show up later to help since my job was fairly large. Didn't get the young guys name, the other guy was Gilberto who I think was the lead. Nice guy, he went above and beyond to make sure a transition piece that I had between the flooring & new carpeting was installed correctly, safely , and looked appropriate for the area. He & Sergio helped finish that up. Gilberto also made sure that the carpeting on my stairs was done correctly. All the work was top shelf, the young guys that helped did a nice job and were respectful of my wife & I , and my property. I would recommend GS floor design and if I use them again hope I would run into these fellas. They did nice work! read more

The installation was excellent. The 2 gentleman arrived on time, explained their plan, surveyed the rooms and got to work. When they were done, they cleaned up and left the area better than they found it. The rooms look great and my tenant and her grand kids love the new carpet and pad This was much better than the measure and preliminary purchase process, which was a nightmare and simple terrible customer service. The rooms were measured 3 times. I don't think i need to say any more. Thankfully, i met and sat down with Gabriel Johnson, who handled things professionally and understood the challenges i had encountered. GS Floor Design installed a small LVP floor in a 1 bedroom condo in Old Town Chicago. The end result was everything we wanted. Beautiful attention to details on our floor trim (We replaced the floor base boards in the room). We did have a problem with the first installation crew. They were very late (showing up at 2:30 instead of the 9am time that was communicated to us). They also did not finish the job within the timeframe originally communicated. We made GS Floor Design aware of the issue. GS took quick action to bring out a different crew and even sent us a Home Depot gift card to compensate us for our time. They truly put the customer first and were a class act. Not every installation job is going to go perfectly, problems will happen. Its the way you treat customers after a problem happens that separates best-in-class companies from the rest. GS was prompt, with multiple follow up calls, and addressed our problem within hours. My floor install job was subbed to GS Design by Home Depot. HD has a person come out to measure. 780 square feet/ 4 rooms. Kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and living room. 39 cartons of laminate flooring is delivered. I sub moving laminate to second floor. HD nor GS will carry up laminate. Everything is packed and stacked so GS can install flooring. The morning of install, one man shows up( see above, 4 rooms, 39 cartons of flooring. ) he goes into one of the bedrooms. He took one small piece of flooring up and decides that the subfloor will need to be replaced. So he goes out to his van to call boss, and ten minutes later drives away without saying anything. He never was going to do floor, if he had shown up with a crew and tore up the floor and found a problem. I would have taken that into account. He was sent out to find a reason to charge up the install price and then drove away scared. I cancelled install order with Home Depot. See accompanying pictures! read more

We had GS Floor Design come last week to install our Lifeproof vinyl plank flooring. They were the subcontractors that Home Depot uses. We had this material previously installed in our upstairs bathrooms. It took us another 5 years to get our main level completed with this. First off Home Depot totally screwed up and didn't deliver the product on time to us so we had to be pushed forward 3 weeks. I guess the flooring needs to adjust to the temperature in your home for 48 hrs prior. I should have called to make sure but when I finally did call to confirm whether Home Depot was in fast delivering but opps surprise they still hadn't gotten the material?? We found out later Home Depot did in fact have it but someone there obviously wasn't going their job correctly!! They never delivered it. But GS Flooring was completely on schedule to begin but Home Depot nope not with it!! The guys came right when they said well equipped with everything they needed. They did a fabulous job! Everything was done perfectly and they didn't leave a mess afterwards. The guys were very nice and respectful. The main foreman Javier was just great! We couldn't ask for a better more productive, hard working crew to do our new flooring! read more

I had carpet installed September 2024; I had recurring issues after it was installed. Alexi and Aaliya stayed in communication with me from the first issue. I truly can say G S Floor Designs cares greatly about their customers. They made sure all bases were covered with Home Depot since they were contracted through them. The installers Supervisor also come out and agreed that there were issues from all sides. Home Depot finally agreed to cover all cost to have the carpet reinstalled. Carlos and Danny came this Wednesday to re-due all installation and did an outstanding job with installing the carpet. It was much different installation then the first guys in September. I am basing this review as 5 stars due to the dedication of Alexi and Aaliya and their concern, care for the customer and making sure the installers do the job necessary and accurately. They are a great asset to this company and Home Depot. I give Carlos and Danny a 5 on their knowledge of installing the carpet, but on being through and honest I have to give them a 3 star, only because my phone line was cut in the process of the carpet being put in and did not make me aware of it and if they did not notice then that goes back to re-checking their work. Since I was not made aware at the time it made the outcome of this install end up being very stressful with hours trying to find out why I had no phone service and due to my disabilities, it was not easy to move the phone line elsewhere. I am so thankful for Alexi and Aaliya once again for going over and above to correct this issue as well. No matter the situation I would recommend GS Floor Designs and Home Depot because they corrected all at their expense. I never had new carpet until this, and I must say I have learned a great deal through this whole ordeal. read more

I am 100% highly satisfied with G.S. Floor Designs, Inc services. It's was a rough start for my household, due to my old flooring, discovering I had unsafe conditions underneath my old carpet. I needed the situation made safe before my new flooring installation. Installation was temporarily paused but the communication G.S. Floor Designs representatives provided really helped assure me the outcome once I had that taken care of. The information was exactly what I needed to know at that time when I was unaware of what was needed. This company is comforting, friendly, extremely helpful and very professional. I am grateful for their representatives and the company. They communicated with me every time I reached out. When my old flooring was made safe I contacted them on very short notice and they were able to squeeze me in their busy schedule. My home was made safe to live in once again and ready for new flooring installation from GS Floor Design. At the time I was living on subfloors. Splinters, nails, raw rough wood. We couldn't go anywhere without our shoes. I reached out to GS Flooring Design. Thinking it would be weeks before install. I believe due to my situation and with Christmas the next few days, they came the next day for my flooring installation. I was shocked since I provided short notice. Thanks to their endeavors my family was able to put up our Christmas tree on a real floor And we were able to open presents. They saved our Christmas The craftsmanship was amazing very quickly installed and we love the outcome. No flaws, wonderful results and a perfect job! And they did so much! Came on time and finished fairly quickly. Would have been better if they pointed out before laying the carpet that it was thinner than the original one they took up and consequently left a small gap along the baseboards so I had to have them painted. I think a little extra pad along edges would have raised it and solved that problem read more

And, we did not break the bank, which was also a plus. Everything from delivery to installation is all set up and convenient to coincide with your schedule. After reading the reviews, I was so nervous that we bought our flooring through Home Depot since they contract to GS Floor Design, but honestly, we had such great service and a pretty good experience from GS. Sadly, we have been going through the floor install process since April and we JUST got our floor installed this week. Between problems with our HOA communication, Home Depot not having things in stock, to the manufacturer not having things in stock due to COVID, to GS Flooring having like no free time for installation, the whole process has been a huge struggle, but once things got rolling, I must say it went pretty smoothly. I cannot say enough great things about the Customer Service woman named Kim from here. She was the person who contacted my HOA about requirements and insurance, and she knew we waited so long for our whole process that she worked with the contractors to get us in earlier than September and she did! We were able to get our floors a few weeks earlier than originally planned (thank God). She even stayed after work to make sure she called us to ask us if the dates worked once she got the okay. As for the installation and the contractors, everything went so well. Our vinyl floor looks AMAZING and they did such a great job cleaning (they swept and steam cleaned the floor). The carpet installers also did an amazing job, and the seams and everything looks great. The carpet came from Home Depot damaged with a couple of holes, so the guy installing it told us, turned the holey part towards a less traffic area in the room (basically under where the bed will be), and said he could mend it. Once he was done, you could never tell the holes were there. He was so nice for telling us too because he definitely could have hidden it from us. The one thing I really disliked about this place is that they had horrible communication when it came to the day of installation. The company claims that someone will text you a time frame window the evening before the installation date, but we NEVER received one for either the vinyl or carpet installation. We even tried calling the night before the Monday installation, but of course, they were closed when we called. We don't live in the house full time yet, so this was a pain in the butt, to be honest. Luckily, we figured since the place opens at 8 that 8 would be the earliest time they would arrive. Thankfully, we had my fiance's mom go there about 8 am and they were there right when she got there. Because of this poor communication, I actually called the day before the carpet installation day, told them we never received a text about the vinyl flooring time, so I asked what our window for the carpeting was. The woman in customer service seemed shocked we didn't get a text; but reading reviews, that seems to be a consistent problem for this place. Another thing that annoyed us is that we had gotten vinyl in our master closet and carpet in the master bedroom, but the vinyl guys said that the carpet people will put the transition between, but the carpet guys said that was something the vinyl installers needed to do... so now we have an area between the two floors where the floor floats because they took the transition strip off. Now we will need to wait for someone to come back to our home and fix it. read more
