Rented a few items from Encore in Petaluma for my daughter's wedding in Napa. The bummer here was $442 in charges that were not stated on my original contract. Very dishonest as they wouldn't allow me to talk to anyone until I was in my seven day no cancel period and we had a wedding in a few days so we were stuck! After several attempts, I was allowed to talk to someone about this and they agreed to waive a portion of the extra fees but I was still charged almost $200 for items that were stated as $0 on my original contract. There are so many great places to rent from, why go with a company that adds on extra charges hoping you won't notice? read more

I've used Encore Event rentals twice now, and they have hit the mark both times. Phone and reception staff are knowledgeable, helpful and cheerful; items ordered are available on time. I rented glassware for the most recent event and out of 24 martini glasses one had a small chip. I still consider that above average. The Petaluma warehouse worker was not only efficient and quick, she was friendly, both on pickup and return! My daughter is getting married in June. Last Saturday we had called Encore to see if they had time for us to stop by as we were in the area. They told us we could come in even though we didn't have an appointment and they would do the best that they could to accommodate us. We ended up going to the wrong location. When we arrived, we were told that we must have made the appointment at the Windsor location. Dawnyel was working and said that she would be willing to help us out even though there was a couple there who had an actual appointment. Normally we wouldn't have expected to be catered to, as we had made multiple mistakes, and Saturday is probably their busiest day. I cannot praise Dawnyel enough for her kindness, knowledge, patience, and beautiful personality. Not only did she treat us like VIPs, but she made us feel so comfortable and took her time, explaining the rental process and showing us the samples they had in the show room, Dawnyel then followed up with us via email after the weekend, and although we completely changed our minds about our entire order... she placed a new order over the phone with us, and again provided us with the best customer service! I later found out that she was leaving for a six day vacation and it was after hours but once again, she was patient, kind and super super helpful. Wish all businesses had a Dawnyel :) read more

Encore has beautiful rentals. I didn't work directly with the company as my coordinator did most of the footwork. There were a few issues since we weren't delivered the quantities we ordered for a few items, but my coordinator worked to issue a refund and I didn't even notice on the wedding day. Everyone that I worked with at Encore Event Rentals was nothing but helpful. I made reservations very early for everything I thought I needed and then just kind of left it for a few months. The closer the wedding came, the more I was contacting the staff, sometimes even multiple times per day. I had lots of changes based on my fluctuating head count and I never heard one complaint from them. They were always extremely helpful and responsive to my requests. They even helped me out with suggestions when I wasn't sure what to do. Everything arrived to the venue on time and I had no issues with delivery or pickup. Everything seemed to be in working order but by the time it came to turn on the mushroom heaters there were a large number of them that didn't work. They did refund us for 3 of the heaters but claimed that the other heaters worked perfectly fine when they picked them up. It was partly our fault for not checking when we got them but do to timing issues with my venue we were unable to have someone at the venue when the rentals were delivered. Overall, minus the little hiccup with the heaters, everything that Encore did was amazing and I would highly recommend using them for your wedding. read more

I can not say enough about Encore Event Rentals. I have rented from other companies, but these guys take the cake! They have a gorgeous selection to choose from and the customer service is worth more than 5 stars. I came down with the flu a week before Christmas and was unable to make it in to the showroom to finalize any design or reservation. Renee was an angel. She sent me 4 photos of variations of the settings I had expressed in an email. Secondly, I discovered there was a mix up on my plates and I received 12" plates rather than 10". It's taken me several months to write this review but better late than never. I had gotten rental items from this location for my wedding and due to the holiday season I had to pick them up before hand - which is perfectly reasonable. Now, I'm sure that those of us who have gotten married can empathize that sometimes things get missed the week of your wedding. So for me, I forgot that I had to go and pick these things up from them and they did me the courtesy of calling me 45 mins before closing to tell me that I hadn't come by to pick up my items. I however, was not in the area and could not get anyone else there pick up these very important pieces for my wedding. I kindly let the manager know that someone will be there ASAP but they might be running a few mins late she proceeded to tell me in a VERY condescending tone that "this is not the way we run our business" well shoot me twice why don't you. A simple "I'm sorry but we can't do that" would have sufficed. I definitely will not be recommending this place to anyone which is a shame because they do have great rentals and the lady who was helping me in the store was very kind. This is perfect example of how to loose business when you give too much power to the wrong people. read more

I had left a review under Cal-West (which Encore used to be a part of but I believe is now of its own entity), and now I want to be the first to review on the awesomeness that is Encore!!! My original review is pasted below: Two words (a name, really) that equals convincing a nervous, overwhelmed bride to slow-down-and-breathe-because-I-totally-got-your-b ack: SARA SUGRUE. I was lucky enough to get her as my consultant with Encore Events, and by the time I sat down with her, I thought I was going to go out of my mind. I'd never planned a wedding before (or any other large event), especially not my own with all these people expecting something fabulous on a shoe-string budget. I'm not exaggerating when I say shoe-string, especially for all the cool things I wanted to be able to do. Well, the rentals are a huge part of the wedding (felt like a third of the budget), and she really put me at ease finding ways to make things work for me, and sharing some of what she did at her own wedding that I might want to do or spin off of. AND she divulged other ninja-like event-planning secrets to help with my tight budget while creating pop and not fizz. She wasn't afraid to make suggestions all the way through, but was always gentle and open to change (no matter how many times I called her to change things around, which was, oh, like TEN). She did at one point say, "Really? You done? You sure this time?!" And I loved her for it. Can't say enough. I don't know, honestly, if I could have pulled off the wedding of the century without her invaluable input -- and she was always so perky and cute (albeit prego!). I thank her so much for everything she helped me with, and am ashamed that I took this long to write a review. Our wedding was 9.10.11. I have been thinking for almost a month how to put into words the way I feel about working with encore I am a wedding caterer who has a long history of vendor relationships. Some good ...some bad. This is a company that delivers on time makes very few errors and really delivers with great customer service . also ...such a beautiful inventory to select from ....not just beautiful,,,A huge inventory so I never had to piece an order together ..ahhhhh .. They were very quick to respond, almost available via email or phone with any questions. They edited my wedding order at least 10 times and never made me feel bad about it. Prices seemed best of whats out there. They do get you if you break any dishes or loose any, so try to keep track of everything so you are not out another $100 at the end of the wedding. read more

Encore Events (and especially Sara Sugrue) made our wedding planning easy and painless, offering lots of advice and options to help us focus in on the perfect selections for our tastes. As the date got close, we found out that our venu had been book for a late night event the day before our wedding, so we wouldn't be able to set-up the night before as we'd planned. Sara assured us that everything would be delivered on time (8am on a Sunday morning) and set up in time. Sure enough, the delivery arrived just before 8am and they went to work, finishing in plenty of time for the florist to finish the final touches before the 1pm wedding. As a caterer, I would be lost without my partners at Encore Petaluma. Their team is truly an extension of mine and because of them our events are a huge success. Their selection of items for my clients and myself is vast. They make my clients feel at home when we sit down to design their special events. I called with the expectation that Encore Events would be happy to have the opportunity to donate a large coffeemaker and hot water dispenser for a one day non-profit event, Hope for the homeless, in Santa Rosa. Instead I did not receive the phone call back promised the first time I called. The second time I called I did not receive the phone call back I was promised would happen that day. The third time I called I was told that the most I would probably get is 10% off, but I could fill out the paperwork and they'd get back to me at a future date with a decision.
