I love the recent updates made to the Mann Center. I visited in July to see Death Cab for Cutie…read more Off the bat, the venue has a more "luxurious" feel walking around concessions and other areas. The bathrooms were pretty clean and they had plenty of stalls, so no need to wait in a long line. We had seats on the balcony, and the staff was kind enough to escort us to our seats. The view was solid and the sound quality was great. The balcony seats felt relatively comfortable. Like most venues, drinks and food can be a bit pricy. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my strawberry vodka lemonade. The nachos were a little weird -- carrot does not belong on nachos. The chicken on the nachos was still juicy though. I wouldn't mind coming back for another show here.

You are able to tailgate in the parking area...we brought some wawa hoagies and drinks to consume before going inside. We should've brought some lawn chairs to sit on while tailgating. Highmark is the new owner of the The Mann. They did some sprucing up inside and it looks great! The staff were all very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the show that we went to see. I did not get anything to eat but I got one drink...the large can of Bud Light Seltzer...for $19.80. Definitely the most i've ever paid for one of those. You can bring in with you: one sealed bottle of water or an empty vessel for water. My friend brought ice in her vessel and they didn't even look inside.

The burger at the venue is typically served with cheese. No biggie, I thought, just don't put cheese on one. I asked for it without. The lady at the register said she would need to grab a manager because it comes with cheese on it. The manager informed me that she would see what she could do because the grill person was in a mood. The feeling I got was that this would inconvenience the griller. She came back, told me she had taken care of it but that it would be a bit longer of a wait. About seven minutes later I had the burger in hand and it was so good! I made my way to the lawn to see the show and it was only then that I realized that my not arriving early and dilly dallying with food had created a huge issue. I couldn't actually see the band easily from any of the remaining spots. My wife and I squeezed into a spot that allowed me to bounce between the stage and the huge tv screen but she had to rely solely on the tv screen to see the show. Considering what tickets cost, I was a bit annoyed that a concert venue would have such poor sightlines. It's not all annoying. The Skyline Stage is cool because it is outdoors and has a great view of the city. The sound and ambiance are incredible. But, because of the poor sightlines, I probably won't return here for another show.

I really liked all the plants throughout the space too, they gave it a cool, relaxed vibe. The focaccia was great, and we enjoyed the main dishes as well. There was a good variety, so everyone had something different to try. Dessert wasn't my personal favorite, but I really appreciated that they were willing to get creative and try something I'd never seen before: corn ice cream. Definitely an interesting way to end the meal!

While these transient wretches microwave their Sad Cuisine in their Marriot holding cells, Lark's seventh floor aerie curates a dining experience well worth the exorbitant price tag. The service here is outrageously on-point while the appetizer, pasta and main courses are both inventive and delicious. I love duck and their duck in a currant infused sauce was the best I've ever had... anywhere. Given the tiny portions there's no risk of leaving here "stuffed" but you will leave amazed and satisfied that you have experienced something truly special. As a bonafide hater of foodie hype in any form, I have no choice but to give Lark a resounding five stars. PS... Bala Cynwyd, PA must have more cemeteries (including a sprawling Pet cemetery) per capita than any place on the planet. More poor souls that will never experience Lark.

She gave us great recs too! The Persian Garden was great. I'm not a big fan of ordering coffee/espresso/lattes but the rose flavor was something I didn't expect to like. The baba ganouj and beetroot tzatziki were both hits for the family. The baba ganouj had the smoky flavor I was looking for and the tzatziki was fresh and light. The pita was thick, soft, and warm, perfect for dipping. The kofta, tuna tartare, and crispy grape leaves weren't too bad. The kofta is quite large and the lamb didn't taste too gamey at all. The arugula and tahini really brightened the flatbread. I enjoyed the tuna tartare but I was looking for more of the tuna flavor. As for the crispy grape leaves, it was a bit like an eggroll but mushy inside. I wasn't the biggest fan of this and tzatziki dipping sauce but that's just me. Finally, the chicken mohammar and grilled kofta were both great! We enjoyed the chicken mohammar much more though. The sauce was smoky and savor while the chicken was extremely tender. The pita was perfect to encapsulate the chicken and soak up the sauce! As for the grilled kofta, we did like the wild rice and lamb. The arugula and onion went great with the lamb. It was a great introduction to mediterranean food for my parents! I'm glad we came here and I'd consider coming back!
