My treatment routine always starts with a little massage to identify the problem area (approx 5 mins) , then follow with acupuncture (approx 30-40 mins, never time it exactly) and then closed with a very thorough massage of the problem area (approx 5-10 mins) Both Dr Shi and Grace almost totally cure my right hand (95% back to normal at the time when I wrote this review) Whenever possible ask for Grace to massage you if you can tolerate stronger massages (you can also ask her to be a little gentler). I believe she is only available here on Mondays. If you have Kaiser, ask Dr Shi to verify your coverage. Some plans cover acupuncture with referral, so you will pay a lot less out of pocket expenses. Also note, treatment with acupuncture does take time and needs regular visits, but it does work for me!

I moved like a tin man that needed lubrication; and, I fell frequently because my knees would buckle whenever I tried to walk normally. I fell and tore the meniscus in my left knee in three places. Thereafter, I had to wear a custom brace to walk like a cripple. Also, I was nearly run over in a parking lot trying to get out of the way of two oncoming vehicles; but, instead as I tried to pick up my pace, I fell right in front of them. Luckily they saw me and stopped. This was my life before I started seeing Dr. Kim at OK-GO Acupuncture. I had tried just about everything else; but, OK-GO Acupuncture was the only treatment that got the Zingers under control and gave me confidence to walk without my brace. I had never tried acupuncture before in my life and was skeptical about it, but out of desperation to find a non-invasive solution for my throbbing pain, I decided to give it a try. My friend recommended Erica who treated and solved her debilitating carpal tunnel issues awhile back. After ONE treatment, most of the throbbing pain in my wrist between my index finger and thumb went away. I stopped having to wear a wrist brace during the day (but continued to wear it at night... just in case). I still had occasional throbbing pain here and there, and had some pain when holding my toothbrush to brush my teeth, or putting any type of strain on my thumb or index finger. My pain went from a 7 to a 3 after that ONE treatment. My SECOND treatment (a week later) was intense, but SO GOOD! She focused on my thumb during this treatment. I don't know how she did it, but she applied pressure along my arm and shoulder and FOUND the exact spot near my thumb and wrist that was bothering me. (I could never find the actual location... just knew my thumb hurt when I strained it doing daily activities). THAT alone was mind blowing to me. She explained what was going on in very simple terms, using the analogy of an accident on a freeway and a traffic jam that was causing most of my symptoms.
