I have the biggest sweet tooth, so it should come as no surprise that I love love LOVE Endless Summer Sweets! This spot will have you feeling like a little kid at the local county fair. Location is on Shattuck near the Downtown Berkeley BART station as well as several AC Transit bus stops. There are also a handful metered parking spots out front. Inside is on the smaller side with a couple of seats available but very cutesy and inviting nonetheless. My go-to favorites from their menu are the strawberry funnel cake and cheesecake caramel apples. The mini size of the strawberry funnel cake ($8.50) is the perfect serving size for one. The funnel cake itself is crispy and fried to perfection, and the strawberries add a lovely freshness. The homemade whipped cream they pile on top is miles above canned whipped cream. Personally, I like to also add fruity pebbles as an extra topping for a nice crunch! The cheesecake caramel apples ($10.50) are dipped in a layer of caramel, then another layer of cheesecake flavored coating, and finished off with a graham cracker-like crumb coating. They are tart yet decadent, making them absolutely addictive. I appreciate too how they include an option for having the apple be cut up into slices when ordering. 11/7/2025 It was Friday night and I just got to the Cave from work. We were craving something sweet and started the Google search for anything close that sounded remotely good. That was a fail. I didn't, lol .. what I did get was a regular funnel cake (2 please) and a strawberry cheesecake caramel apple. Holy moly ... best decision I made in my life .. well at that time. FUNNEL CAKE It was warm, crispy on the outside, chew in the inside and showered in that white dust of sugar. #nomnomnom The portion was average size and it was amazing until the last bite. STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE CARAMEL APPLE Crispy, delicious green apple used. Perfect blend of crushed strawberry, graham cracker and white chocolate. It came already cut and ready to be eaten. It's all the carnival food that is fond memories and nostalgia, but done really well. The veggie corndog first. It's hard to find a good veggie corndog, even among places that are really proud of their corndog game. You know the type. The establishments that are wearing a fedora with a stubbly goatee, but they look surprisingly fit for an older gent. You know that gleam in their eye tough. "You should check out our corndogs." Well, this one started off of the right foot, using Fieldroast brand for the inner veggie sausage. Delicious, high quality, and not cheap! The corn batter was actually perfect though. There are so many ways it can go wrong. Too thick or thin, too oily, undercooked because the fry wasn't hot enough, burnt, foul oil, etc. This place was legit, though, and their batter was sweet, chewy, and perfect. I sprung for the combo meal with some garlic cheese fries, and that was a huge portion of fries. The garlic was really perfectly piquant, but I didn't actually need the cheese. Had to leave some cheesy soldiers behind, and I'm sure that will haunt me long unto my grave, or at least until I'm hungry again, in a few days... The ambiance was trying a bit to hard for carnival joy, while the small interior actually may've been better appointed like a small cafe. I don't need the touchscreen menu ordering... the veggie corndog wasn't actually on the touchscreen anyway. The funhouse mirror was cool, and watching the delighted kids tripping out was great. -1 star for the oscillating neon sign. The flashing light was bright enough to subtly change the color of the page of the book I was reading, and that was going to give me a migraine if I stayed. Workers were super nice! This place has alright pastries and desserts, but the customer service here is horrible if you have an incident with your food, whether it be customer service related or food safety related (allergies). I had ordered a strawberry funnel cake and an order of churros. I had completely got a different order which was two banana funnel cakes. I would've been great with the banana funnel cakes, but I am allergic to bananas. I relayed this to the supervisor Carlos, unfortunately, Carlos is no help at all and quite horrible at his customer service! He really doesn't need a job in customer service or management! We got a deep fried Oreo (2), sundae (9), 3 churros (7). My friend loved the deep fried Oreo and said it was pretty doughy and good! There's also a deep fried Oreo sundae with 4 deep fried Oreos for cheaper so if you're super into them, check that out. I liked the strawberry ice cream as the ice cream bits slapped, but the cream and the drizzle was too much for me. We also removed the peanuts since my friend had a peanut allergy. I love caramel apples - the combination of tart, sweet and salty is so good. I can usually only find caramel apples at tourist locations, particularly amusement parks and seaside towns, so this makes caramel apples and Endless Summer Sweets a particular treat. They have other types of treats, including apples covered with different types of treats including oreos and sweet cereals. I still like the classic caramel apples the best. We went around 9pm and it got crowded quick for a Thursday night.
