I was about to try every flavor because it was so good!

This place at The Hive in Oakland is a 5 star ice cream stop. I had peanut butter smores on top with coconut on the bottom. Every bite was to be savored. This was excellent!

Pricy, but delicious ice cream--$6.50 for a single scoop. Chocolate dipped strawberry was fire. The woman helping us was friendly and nice. Pretty limited flavors lowkey. Can't really go wrong here tbh

I've been here several times and the flavors are always on point! The ice cream here is a bit too sweet for me, but I'm glad they were able to make it through the pandemic and continue to offer very interesting flavors (most recently, I had the GOAT and lavender crumble). It's pretty dangerous living around the corner from these guys! Staff is pretty friendly.

Came here with some friends last night and had a really good time. This is a cool little ice cream spot that offers unique flavors and crave worthy toppings like cornflake crunch. They offer quite a bit of dairy free flavors, which I appreciate because I have friends with different dietary restrictions. If you find yourself there on a regularly basis, consider sign up for their free rewards program where you can earn points with each purchase. Metered and unmetered street parking is available nearby.

You know what it is, your boy was craving something, and doordash came to deliver. I got the matcha and the honey graham ice cream. There was a $8 off promo so I also got a jar of their bourbon caramel. Caramel was good, had a bourbon taste to it. And, surprise, because it's bourbon flavor and has 0.5% alcohol content!!! Don't eat it at work lol. Match was good about a 4/5 nothing too special. Honey graham was a 3/5. Just was okay, nothing bad, nothing special. Overall this was a safe ice cream choice. The best thing about it was the caramel jar lol,

Ice cream spot known for its unique flavors. Plenty to choose from. I went with a scoop of Vietnamese coffee. Great choice if you're a coffee lover. Service is friendly. Just really pricey for 1 small scoop of ice cream - about $6. But hits the spot if you're craving a sweet treat.

Pretty nice experience! They give out samples to try as well. Very nice distribution of flavors. I got the lavender crumble and the chocolate but there are many more flavors to tey from. There scoops are big, flavour delicious and service awesome. Would definitely have it again when I am in the area!

Sure did finish that sundae didn't I?

It's on the lower end of five stars. It hits all the right notes for me. Good location both in terms of where I am when I want to go for icecream and being by just enough parking. The service is friendly enough. The selection is just large enough. They have seating. Their packaged take home ice cream is a notch above safeway (or wherever else you go to buy ice cream). They have a mix of choices for how your ice creams served. They have outdoor seating, which, if you're out at night in Oakland is usually what I want. It's not flashy but it hits the spot at a reasonable price. If you are regularly in the area and haven't tried Humphrys it's worth it. If you're visiting Oakland I wouldn't trek far for it over, say Fentons, but I wouldn't trek choose if if you're in the area over making the drive to somewhere else (which I can't say about some of the competition).

Great location with outdoor seating. Reasonably priced, friendly staff. Ice cream was really tasty!

Humphry Slocombe is a Bay Area must, nad we're lucky to have one just north of Downtown Oakland. First, let's give it up for HS for doing samples. Gone are the days where you can sample ice cream flavors...I feel like that's so rare these days post-pandemic. Second, there was ONE person working the entire ice cream truck. Props and shoutout to you love! They're located inside "The Hive" with a bunch of other shops like a barber and just around from Drake's beer garden. They're a takeout situation, they share communal space with other shops and a tiny table but it's more of a grab-n-go vibe. The menu is easy to read in large chalk and by the ordering station. I had to go for the Secret Breakfast as that's one of their namesakes. The crunch of the corn flakes and the delicious but not overly sweet bourbon vanilla was the perfect choice on a warm summer night. I also sampled the strawberry blondie which was tasty, but one the sweeter end for me. I love me some berry ice cream with the yummy texture of a cheesecake or some graham bites, and the blondie cake was very satisfying. I was curious about a bunch of the others but didn't want to hold up the line, so I will def be back to sample and try the others next time. My friend loved the honey graham ice cream. The service was so kind and sweet. We got great scoops that felt very generous, and I love that HS supports local events as I saw some flyers here and there for other local biz and events. Highly recommend stopping by HS for a taste of a Bay Area local ice cream joint.

The moment you walk into the shop, you'll notice the current flavor offerings displayed on colorful ice cream-shaped signs across the wall to the right. I could spend an eternity studying each flavor, but there's limited space to queue indoors so really gotta decide on a flavor and serving style fast in order to keep the line moving. Among the flavors were some classics, fruity/floral mixes, and dessert-inspired ones too, a whole range so there's something for everyone. I got the Breakfast Brownie and it was unforgettable! It tasted creamy and delightful without being overwhelming, while the cornflakes mixed inside added a satisfying crunch to each bite. I came back a second time before a show at Crybaby, a smaller venue across the street. Grabbing a scoop here to-go has naturally become part of my pre-concert routine at this point and I plan to come back again next time to explore more flavors. If you're ever heading to a show nearby, I'd definitely recommend stopping by beforehand for a lil energy boost and treat.

Also, whoever they have making their flavors is super creative! They list out all the flavors on the wall on super cute little ice cream scoop cut outs for you to browse while you wait in line. It is definitely more of a takeout ice cream spot with not a ton of seating so you either gotta get lucky with seating, wait for a spot, or take it to go. We got the pandan strawberry and the milk & cookies + cream. Next time I stop by I really want to try out their sundae!

I had to update my review because Gregory's is absolutely the best bakery in town!…read more First of all, Gregory is incredibly kind, and his desserts are AMAZING. A few years ago, there was definitely a dip in communication when I was trying to order a birthday cake, but since then, I've had the pleasure of enjoying Gregory's treats many times. His cheesecake is truly unlike any I've ever had. The chocolate brownies and chocolate chip cookies are so good, they'll make you feel like you're not even on planet Earth! Seriously, they're that delicious. And the chocolate cake? It tastes like it was baked by a sweet Southern grandmother. It literally melts in your mouth. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that every time I go, I buy all four items and happily eat them over the next few days! Hands down, Gregory's is the BEST BAKERY IN OAKLAND. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out!

I've heard many things about Gregory's Gourmet Desserts but tried it today for the first time…read more Parking was a challenge, with the location being nestled within downtown, closer to Lake Merritt. I was surprised that no one spoke of business specifics in their reviews. There is a limit to how many can come in; and you are not allowed to touch anything when inside. There are also no prices listed anywhere. We thought this was odd. Our order: * Personal Peach Cobbler * Walnut Brownie * Banana Pudding For these 3 items, our total was over $25. The service was friendly but a bit awkward. You are only able to see cases of dessert options, it is more of a pick-up point, not so much a bakery location you can browse. I wouldn't suggest coming as a large group, there is no where to sit to enjoy your baked goods and parking is very difficult. While the cobbler and banana pudding were good, I wasn't a fan of the brownie. My partner enjoyed the cobbler a lot, but when we did the calculations, the prices were astronomical. I'm not sure what gourmet difference the items contained, but we likely would not come back to this bakery considering prices and parking. The location is cute, in theory, but with no actual location or displays, or price lists- what you pay for doesn't balance out. The lack of transparency for prices was very sus to us. I'm sure the business will continue on especially with how much they charged. I can't imagine the bakery location and building rent costing a lot as far as operating costs; as it is small, and not expansive at all. The price of the baked goods doesn't even go towards branded packaging. Which could be understandable. The only beverages available that I seen was Nesquik. Steep prices with no justification - especially when you have other bakeries in the area, in addition to Nation's for Pies, very affordable and classic as well. E&J's has a great banana pudding and cobbler as well for $6- they are also a Black-owned business and family operated. Absolutely no bad intent, just wanting to share transparency in my review so Yelpers know that prices are not listed, which means they are subject to fluctuation- in this economy that is not a fair way of doing business. One star per item we liked, for this review. As much signage is visible upon entry regarding rules and limited persons for entry at a time- not one area provided prices; only signs that tell you not to touch. It's required by law for prices at every establishment to be listed, according to SB 478 for general consumer goods and services in California.

Overall, it's been a good experience every time. Parking can be challenging depending on the time of day. Most of the parking is on the street, so you'll need to keep an eye out for pedestrians and bicyclists while looking for a spot. That's probably the biggest inconvenience of visiting this place. There is usually a 15 to 20-minute wait whenever we come for dessert, but we've always been seated within the quoted wait time, which we appreciate. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so the dining area can feel crowded. Tables are very close together, and you're practically sitting back-to-back with other guests. Because of this, the noise level can get pretty high, and it's easy to overhear conversations from nearby tables. The desserts are the highlight here. The BingSu is excellent, and the lava cake is one of our favorites. The menu is accessed through a QR code, making ordering simple and convenient. Food portions are decent, although prices are definitely on the premium side. Service is efficient, and the food and desserts usually arrive pretty quickly. We used to go to their city location regularly, but over the years we've found ourselves visiting this location more often because the area feels more comfortable and convenient for us. That has made this our go-to spot whenever we're craving dessert. Overall, this is a great place for dessert. The quality of the desserts keeps us coming back, but the difficult parking situation and cramped seating prevent it from being a full 5-star experience. Would definitely return for the BingSu and lava cake.

The Original is a classic for a reason with deeply caramelized top and creamy interior. I also tried the Iribancha, a roasted green tea flavor. It's intense, smoky, and unique..maybe not one I could finish in one sitting, but definitely memorable and recommend for those who want that earthy/smoky taste.
