I visited this establishment as they were "preferred providers" listed via my dental insurance, and I needed an endodontist consultation for a potential root canal. While the service was thorough, their pricing was ridiculously expensive. I have very good dental insurance. They charged me nearly $200 for a consultation and then gave me an estimate over $1000 for the root canal. Be very wary when an establishment asks to take your card in advance of the consultation. Thank goodness, I remembered the endodontist I saw years ago in the city and went there. There the consultation ($3) AND the root canal ($68) was $71., total, for my copayments. I highly recommend Endodontic Associates of Brooklyn Heights. From my first phone contact the staff was personable, accommodating and friendly. I was able to get an appointment for my root canal for the following week. My dentist referred me to a different endodontist in the practice but I saw that two other endodontists in this practice accept United Healthcare Dental - my in-network dental insurance. I arrived at my appointment. The receptionist was cordial. The offices were very clean and comfortable. Immediately after filling out "new patient" paperwork a dental technician led me to the treatment room. That office was very clean, modern with a great view of the water. Dr. Stanley Michel came in and introduced himself. He immediately put me at ease by explaining why a root canal was necessary. Dr. Michel was very personable. He was informative and very kind. I knew I was in good hands. Even Dr. Michel's novocain injections were gentle. I've had many root canals and Dr. Michel did an excellent job. read more

I received treatment for a root canal retreat at this office in 2021. There are serval concerns I have with this office: 1) The front desk staff is rude and disrespectful. Specifically an employee named Kerese, she refused to change my appointment, and hung the phone up on me. 2) I was incorrectly/double billed for treatment. I paid the balance of the total treatment. Now normally I use yelp to review restaurants and bars, but my experience here was so awesome, I thought it deserved a review... Got some sensitivity to cold in my tooth. My dentist recommended a crown, but suggested evaluating for root canal before doing the crown. So I come to Endodontic Associates... Front office staff was friendly and professional. After 5 mins, I was called inside. Dr Michele did my exam. He was very thorough and had probably best bedside manner I've ever seen. He evaluated my tooth thoroughly, tested sensitivity and all sort of other things. Was very helpful and explained the whole set of tests and likely issues. He felt that root canal was warranted as nerve began to die off. He offered either to try to do it then and there or reschedule. Since I was in a chair already, I said what the heck. Root canal conjures images of medieval torture racks and pain. Well.... not here. Dr Michele numbed the gum, did few quick and easy shots and in 5 mins I was ready to go. He and his assistant got to work and some 30 mins later - my root canal was complete. The whole experience was painless, and not even unpleasant. Dr Michele walked me through it and constantly checked if everything was good. Temp filling in, and now I'm ready for my crown. I did get a motrin afterwards, but surprisingly there was 0 pain after as anesthesia wore off. (now 3 days since root canal and no pain at all). While no massage, this was certainly not like any dental procedure I had ever done. Really easy and painless. Dr Michele is the best!!! read more

I called to ask a few questions as I was looking for a oral surgeon and the receptionist was so horribly rude to me. Her name is Maria and she interrupted me multiple times and said very forcefully " ma'am, we charge $200 for a consultation, that is what we charge. Do you understand???" As I was trying to explain to her that I didn't need a root canal but an implant. I recently went through a very traumatic experience at a different oral surgeons office, and I was seeking a dentist that I could get a consultation from, I wanted to speak to someone and explain my situation. There was no compassion, kindness, or patience with this person. It is such a shame that this person answers the phone and speaks to a potential patient this way. I hung the phone up in tears. I just had a root canal this morning (Saturday) I've been putting off my Root canal for almost a year. I was afraid it would hurt my body and my wallet. Let me tell you that this was an excellent experience! Dr. Michelle is very personable; he makes you feel comfortable. He made sure I knew beforehand that there may be a follow-up depending on how the outcome of the operation. The assistant took plenty of X-rays. He numbed me up, put the sunglasses and the mouth guard seen in another review, and 1.5 hrs later I was good to go with no second appointment needed. Gave me 2 600mg painkillers to take afterwards. Now, I would recommend if you don't have dental insurance (I'm a grad student - so just emergency insurance) to get Aetna Vital Savings Dental Discount card (https://www.dentalplans.com). It saved me about 45% on the cost and I could pay in monthly installments afterwards. Accessible, professional and skilled. I am glad that I was referred here! I needed a root canal (OMG) and was referred to Dr. Stanley Michel. First, the office is very clean, the staff is friendly and professional and it's close to all transportation in downtown Brooklyn. After I was seated and got the initial xrays, Dr. Michel came in and immediately put me at ease. He is such a warm and caring person. He asked me about the pain I was having, tested my teeth to determine his course of care and explained what he needed to do. Not only was the root canal virtually painless (the Novocaine needle pinches were the worst part lol), but he made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. Even gave my jawline a quick massage at the end since my mouth was propped open for about 40 minutes! How can you beat that? Finally, he advised what the next steps would be so I could discuss with my dentist and gave me some Motrin for any discomfort later. A root canal is not a walk in the park and it is going to be a little uncomfortable. But the painless factor and care I received speaks volumes for Dr. Michel and his staff. This is a VERY talented doctor so if you need a root canal, THIS is definitely the man you'll want to see. read more

He instantly put me at ease, explained how and why root canal got a bad rap ("I think of it as a glorified cavity") and I proceeded to have a painless, hour-long procedure during which I practically nodded off. I braced myself for pain afterwards, but experienced only very mild soreness - without pain killers. At one point during the procedure I even laughed. If you're squeamish about pain (who isn't), the numbing shots at the outset are the worst of it - they don't bother me, it doesn't last long. Then, you're home free. I've been called a "veteran" by at least one dentist. At 14 I went to a dentist office that left me traumatized because they were cheap with the novicaine. On that visit I managed to clear out the office due to my screams of agony. Really. As a result of that visit I've been very hesitant to visit the dentist office until absolutely necessary. Had my first root canal done today. Was so not looking forward to it. I was a little comforted by the fact that I heard my endodontist, Dr. Goldberger, was one of the best in Brooklyn. And after my procedure, I have to say that I 150% concur! His "bedside manner" was exceptional. He moved with confidence, speed, precision and ease. I am not one to write reviews regularly, but I had to take the time to share my experience with Dr. Michele. I had not been to the dentist in quite some time because the entire experience gives me anxiety, and after ignoring it for years, my dentist finally convinced me to get my root canal taken care of, but i had to go to a specialist for it. That is how i came across Dr. Michele. At the initial appointment, i was extremely nervous and anxious. The receptionist and dental hygienist were both very friendly. Then i went inside and met with the Dr. and i told him how anxious i was feeling. He was patient and understanding, he explained everything he was doing, and that put me at ease. I had to do the root canal in 2 sessions, because it was that bad, but he explained the whole process so well and then gave me next steps so clearly that if i ever need another one (God forbid!), I would definitely go back to him. He is extremely professional, personable, knowledgeable and skilled at his craft. The office staff were the same. Dr. Michel treated me for my first root canal ever. And it was a tooth way in the back, so it wasn't easy. But he did a fantastic job. First, he was incredibly calming and forthright, explaining clearly but not scarily what the procedure would entail. Throughout the pretty long procedure he was most careful in checking to make sure I was okay, comfortable, and not in pain. Put simply, he's great. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dr Coffiner. I came to him with a diagnosis of a root canal from a dentist I saw in Manhattan. He thoroughly examined me to confirm the diagnosis and seemed very concerned that he avoid making any kind of needless operation. I had the impression that he wasn't looking to maximize the bill and would have sent me on my way if it turned out that I didn't need surgery. His prices were less than what I was quoted at other offices. He really earned my trust. He explained everything as he went which helped me understand what was happening, allowing me to relax. His blow-by-blow also kept me entertained (in addition, he's got a good sense of humor). He made sure that I would feel minimal pain and discomfort.
