It was a long procedure and the dentist and his assistance checked in with me multiple times to see how I was doing and helping me to be comfortable. Initially the front office had told me that they would not be able to verify my insurance because it was the weekend (and even suggested that I might come back the next day), but when the crown procedure was diagnosed and recommended they were able to verify the insurance (which covered 50 percent of the cost). Very glad to have landed in this office and might choose to use them for non-emergency dental work as well.

Believe me, root canals aren't easy! Imagine snaking a .6mm clogged drain, upside down, looking through a mirror. Not to mention people are terrified of getting root canals, but the horror stories you hear are of the toothache that made you need one, not the actual procedure. Yes, we dentists are creepily noisy, it's hard holding your mouth open, etc, but the procedure was completely painless and afterwards, I had some nice hot coffee, and later some ice water, forgetting that I no longer had to contort my tongue to cover up my previously painful tooth! I smiled and said a silent thank you to Dr. Zucker and team!! Now I'm shouting it out on Yelp.

Don't ever go to any of their offices, they need to be put out of business and are being investigated by the BBB.

Quick check in. Comfortable waiting room. Dental assistant and Dr. Ryan were great. Dr. Ryan was a complete pro. I was expecting an unpleasant procedure for my time scheduled but I ended not having it. After Dr. Ryan looked at my tooth we thoroughly discussed all the options both financially and medically which I truly appreciated. I felt very informed and was ultimately happy with my decision. My hygienist Crystal is gentle and lets me choose the flavor of my toothpaste and fluoride. We are similar in age so we like to chat about music and TV shows of the 80s/ 90s. A childhood stroll down memory lane which getting my teeth sparkly. Of course I've had other hygienists over the years and have never had a "rough" cleaning. Also many dentist's have worked in my mouth. From my childhood dentist Dr. Marvin (PD Silver Lake), to the late Dr. Kaatz (crowns and fillings), to Dr. Lutterman (crown) and currently Dr. Nguyen (crown and nightguard). I don't mind anesthetic but the vibration of the "drill" is annoying. They let me bring in my own earphones so I can listen to music while they are working. My last couple of appointments seem to fly by. And Dr. Nguyen is so kind and compassionate. And gentle when giving anesthetic...I didn't even feel it. She cares about doing quality work and made sure I was happy with the feel of my new crown/ nightguard. At my last crown visit they used a silicone suction device that kept my tongue and cheek out of the way. It also gave me something to bite on so my mouth wouldn't get tired from staying open. That was awesome! As much as I don't want dental work, I would like for that to be used again if needed. I have already recommended this clinic (and other locations of this company) to friends and family. They all seem to be satisfied with the care they receive too!

At Snelling Ave Dental, I have always felt welcomed being there from checking in at the front desk to sitting in the patient's chair. Everyone is extremely friendly and loves chatting with patients when they're up for it. (Pro tip: Talk about food. They LOVE to try new foods and share their foodie experiences.) I've visited here for a total of 3-4 times over one year, and I like how seriously they take their work here. During checkups, the doctor informs me of ways to improve my brushing and the spots that might need more attention. Something that's super simple, but I've never been told by a dentist what spots I haven't been reaching. Besides checkups, I also had a mouthguard fitted because I constantly clench my teeth when I'm stressed. It was a pain-free process, and they checked my insurance coverage and gave me a quoted price before initiating the whole process. Their communication is amazing and there was no confusion. I'm really sad that I can no longer go to Snelling Ave Dental because I moved out-of-state recently, but I'm so happy that I was able to find a dentist that I was satisfied with.

I have never run into this at any other endodontic clinic, and felt to me like I was being treated as a child who could not be trusted to handle their own referral paperwork. I don't know who would lie about an infected tooth to get a root canal. Throughout the conversation, the receptionist was rude, accusatory, and unhelpful. She even lied to me when I told her I would be paying out of pocket as they were not covered under my insurance. She told me that paying out of pocket for out of network care was committing fraud. Which is not only stupid, but incorrect. A simple google search will tell you that is wrong, you can seek care wherever you want as long as they don't try to bill your insurance if they are out of network. This level of unprofessionalism and ignorance gives me serious concerns about their business practices. I would recommend seeking care elsewhere, I know I will be.

But after about 5+ visits, I gotta break up with PCD and their great keurig selection. My experiences have been so inconsistent here. The first time I visited, they said they found some jaw bone misalignment on my X-ray, and referred me immediately to a specialist. PCD's X-Ray/conclusion turned out to be incorrect. Also, during a cleaning, one dentist said that everything looked fine and I didn't have any cavities. But then the next doctor swooped in and was like, "you need a filling". Ugh. Lastly, I needed a thick bite guard made for my TMJ, but instead I received a thin retainer, even though I have straight teeth. The hygienist was even confused by the discrepancies of the notes made by different doctors on my file. Oh, and one time I checked in and was waiting for a little while, when the receptionist called me on my cell phone to tell me I was late to my appointment. That one is actually kinda funny (but kinda not).
