Ok, I was walking back from the Durham and I've been in desperate need of a haircut for maybe a couple months... so I saw a small sign about walk-ins, and I decided the place looked really cute and had people working so... I went in to inquire. There was a small wait but I was able to get in and had a cup of tea while sitting. Everyone was super friendly!!! My hairdresser was Alyssa, she listened to my requirements (fix my hair, keep long enough to pull back while running), and sort of ran with it. She did a great job! And I mean, I know I'm just visiting so I figure I should give a yelp shoutout since it was so good. My hair is super straight and thick so people have to be knowledgeable enough to make sure it doesn't come out too blunt or weirdly cut (since everything will show up). I already posted on Instagram and my friends are all about it, so none of us live here in Omaha, so I hope you give this place a try! It made me want to stop in Omaha again. read more

I have been going there for about a year and received excellent treatment every time. Chevy is THE BEST at brows and waxing in general. I've lived in major cities and gone to all sorts of bougie salons, but Chevy is the only person who has done a consistently good job...enough so that I will only see her for waxing and eyebrow tinting. Additionally, the in-house barber, Laura (?), did a fantastic job on my husbands hair cut!! My husband was initially skeptical going in as he's only ever gone to traditional barber shops, but she gave him the best haircut he's had in years and really listened to him and what he wanted. read more

Michael Hartig or MJ is extremely unprofessional & my appointment to work with him today was canceled because I decided to dye my hair a different color last minute & because I was questioning the price of the color & the cut trying to get a better understanding since it was going to cost me more than I normally paid for a bleaching & hair color change in San Diego. He told me I would need to reschedule at first but I could still come down to get my shave design & hair cut. I tried this place because its owner is vegan and they sell many vegan products. I also like getting all my styling services from people who look a whole lot cooler than me and Curb Appeal meets that criteria. First time I went, I got hooked up with Laura L. as my stylist and I couldn't be happier. She's talented, to be sure. Almost as important, she's friendly. I hate it when I go to get my hair dealt with and don't have anyone to talk to because the stylists are chatting amongst each other and not including me. Doesn't happen here. She has made some great recommendations for shampoo and conditioner, her recommendations change along with the seasons and the environmental conditions that correspond with said seasons. Also, Laura once rescued a baby ground squirrel. Soon I'm going to get my hair colored for the first time in maybe 15 years. The esthetician Demi was very careful with my eyebrows, I had a really bad experience at the mall with another lady and my eyebrows came out very thin. It was a nightmare! Demi however helped shape them after two months of growing them out. She was very careful and made sure to let me know exactly what she was doing every step of the way. She even steered me in the right direction for my skin care needs. Heather my stylist is amazing, very informative with products and very friendly and helpful when purchasing the right products for my specific hair texture. Lorraine is a great aesthetician, and I always feel great and rejuvenated after her individualized treatment. She is the best. This is the salon to go to! I am so thankful for everyone and they are like family. I have been coming here for over 5 years. Bethany does my hair and Sarah Akenbauer is my esthetician. When my husband died, the salon sent flowers and were really kind to me. The front desk staff are really professional and always try to accommodate my schedule due to my travel. I trust Bethany with my hair. Sometimes I get these crazy ideas and then I run them by her and she is very honest with me and if something doesn't work then she tells me. That is a true master stylist. I always say that people get what they pay for and I don't mind paying for excellent hair care. Sarah does my mani's, pedi's and waxing. She is so kind and has really taught me a lot about skin care. She truly cares about me as a person and not my pocketbook. Went to use a LivingSocial deal for a haircut and highlights. My appointment was with Chelsea. The location is great (right on the corner and next to on street parking) and is super cute and trendy inside. All of the stylists had their own style/look and I loved it. Chelsea asked all the right questions on how I wear my hair, what I do to style it, etc. I walked out out exactly what I was hoping for! A bonus is that you get a complimentary mini makeup makeover to finish the look. I was in a rush to get home so couldn't take advantage of it but it's there! I would give this place 0 stars if I could. What an awful experience. I was coming into town for a wedding and made an appointment for a friend and me to get shampoos and styles. I made it clear to the receptionist we had to be out of the salon by 4 and she booked us both for 3 pm. I received an appointment confirmation 24 hours in advance and assumed all was well. When we arrived at the salon for our appointment, we were informed the stylist - only one was there - was running an hour behind. Absolutely no concessions were offered, except offering to "rush through our hair". I understand people run late and all - but I would have been happy with a call earlier for a heads up at the very least. My friend and I had to walk to a corner market to buy styling product to race back to our hotel to do our own hair with the few things we packed in our suitcase. What a bummer when we were looking forward to professional styles for our black tie event. All in all I like to think it worked out - based on the staff's hair I saw in the salon I likely wouldn't have liked what they created anyway so I probably dodged a bullet. Definitely skip this place - they obviously are too busy trying to be edgy and cool to actually run their business with any fundamentals of customer service. read more

This is NOT a nail salon. Regulars are probably thinking..."well, duh," but for someone new to the area looking to get just a couple of last dipped nails taken off, everything filed and painted with a basic polish, Curb Appeal came up as a convenient option, it looked legit, so I made an appointment. First off, the woman I talked to on the phone (when I explained what all I needed) apparently didn't detail the appointment info and didn't allot enough time. So when I came for my appointment, the person doing my nails was surprised and said there would be no way we could paint them. Ok, fine. So she took the 4 dipped nails off, sorta filed (I say sorta because when I got home I could see that I still had jagged edges on almost every nail), and put on a clear base coat. Even then, fine. But when I went to check out, they tried to charge me $40 for a full manicure, which on the website includes a "sugar scrub and massage." Absolutely not on par with the services I had gotten. Luckily, the man at the front desk was nice about it when I questioned and took the price down to $24. I still wasn't thrilled, but I think I expected this place to be something it is not. Hair and skincare appear to be their #1, and I may still try them in the future for those services. But I will definitely be taking care of my nail care needs elsewhere. read more

I had my bridesmaids go here to get our hair done on the day of my wedding. Their front desk worker I talked to was not the brightest at communicating their services well. It was a little frustrating because I had to call four different times. The first time I called, I asked what they offered. The second time I called was to set up the appointments. This is when I asked for the bridal package. The only reason why I wanted a bridal package was because of the "free trial appointment." I thought that meant a free hair trial appointment; however, I was wrong and found out the third time I called. The third time, I finalized the appointments and asked to set up my "free hair trial appointment". I got a rude, "oh no honey, we don't offer free hair trial appointments." I then asked what is the "free trial appointment" with the bridal package. She said it's for makeup... and then informed me I can set up a trial hair appointment, but it would be $76 for the trial and $76 or the actual appointment the day of. So, I canceled the bridal package and just scheduled to get my hair and make-up done the day of. I said I did not want the trial appointment because it wouldn't benefit me at all. I would pay $76 for the stylist to see if they can do the hairstyle, just to go home and wash the hairstyle out immediately before anyone sees it. Four days before the wedding my husband's mom calls and says she's at Curb Appeal and that they said I need to set up a trial appointment! I then called them for the fourth time. (it was the same woman every time I called). I told her I had already called to confirm the appointments and that I didn't want a trial appointment because I am confident that they will do a good job. She then informed me that my husband's mom told them that the bridesmaid hairstyles I chose had a braid in them. She then went on to telling me that all the stylists there do NOT know how to braid hair.... I repeated, "they don't know how to braid hair? A simple three strand braid in hair?" I was thinking, why in the world are the stylists at a salon if they can't even braid hair! She said yes and since I wasn't coming in for a trial, I had to set up a consultation appointment. A consultation appointment? Why didn't she tell me that the other 3 times I called there? If his mom didn't go in four days before the wedding I wouldn't have set one up because I had no idea I had to. Anyway, besides the front desk service, the place was great! We went in, all got our hair done simultaneously. Everyone's hair turned out beautiful! read more

Rarely do I fuss about hair care. I'm pretty low maintenance but today's experience was terrible. I went in with a living social cut and color coupon. I only needed my roots touched up and maybe a little pulled through to blend. Part way into the application my stylist mentioned "oh by the way the coupon only covers 1oz of color and each additional is 25$". I couldn't very well change my mind at that point so I said ok. She of course needed more color to do the roots, to make a long story short I spent 3 hrs there and left with my hair bleached out Barbie blond (I have light-medium golden blond hair) and my hair sloppily blow dried and trimmed. The staff is friendly but the hair care sadly lacking. read more

Nothing to rave about. I thankfully didn't spend a lot since I had a Groupon, but I went in for a cut and color. I have wavy long hair, and I'm not picky, so I just explained that I wanted the split ends gone, and most importantly something easy to style both curly and straight. My stylist seemed enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and claimed he could definitely provide an easy style, so I let him cut loads off my hair. He was meticulous to the point of taking 2.6 hrs to cut and color! The color looked great when I left, but despite salon purchased color-safe shampoo, people who saw me after the weekend (one wash) didn't even notice a color difference (had gone from copper blond to rich auburn)! ALL the beautiful color was gone in one shampoo. The cut was another disappointment. With much effort it looked cute when I left, but I have never had a more difficult style to manage. I can't wear my hair even a bit curly, and to leave the house looking reasonable takes extensive effort. When managed properly, straightened, and flipped on the ends, with lots of product, it looks decent, and resembles a late 90s "Rachel", but is in all ways far from the simple, easy style I requested, and won't even go into a pony tail. Sad about my experience, and hopeful I can find someone to fix this. read more

5 stars for gorgeous space, incredibly talented hairdressers, and REAL empathetic people who work there and get it. They are united under the mission of having a green salon. I was spell bound learning about their mission and how the products they use all support their goal of zero carbon emissions even down to how the hair they cut goes to clean oil spills. I was not looking great after a long flight into Omaha and uncombed hair- a walk in, they treated me like a valuable and interesting person, offered me water, asked questions and most importantly, delivered me exactly what I wanted from my hair. it really set me on the right direction for the rest of my day. OHH and I must mention that when they learned I was there for a wedding shower my mom and sister were throwing me they created little darling mesh satchels of free samples for us girls to try, just because. I don't like single process colors but I do love having different colors painted into my hair. I have curly hair so doing this technique isn't easy for a lot of colorists but Bethany does it and does a fabulous job doing it. Plus she gives a verrrrry nice head massage during the wash, and the bonus is she is a beautiful and kind soul who is great to talk with during every appointment. read more

This was my first visit to curb appeal. I usually get my hair cut weekly at a military base but wanted to go somewhere closer to where I live since it was a federal holiday. I had a minimal wait and Dylan did a great job. The price was about 3x what I pay on post but is in line with other places in the old market. I have waited to write this review since I wanted to gather some opinions from other stylists and friends. I went to get my hair cut colored about a month ago and was charged 300.00. That's a lot of money for a cut and color especially when the website indicates that a cut and color is roughly 165.00. I was told my hair is thick therefore I was charged the extra fee. I have consulted other stylists to see if they agree my hair is thick, it is not. Most people I have told about this experience have been appalled. That amount of money (300.00) has been equated to a "rip off". I have been to this salon before and never been charged anywhere near that amount. It was shocking to say the least. My advice is go somewhere else. You never know what charges they will find to add on to your services and once it's done there isn't much you can you do other than not return. Perhaps this is type of salon that assumes customers are not all the important and therefore are not cultivating return appointments or loyalty. (Also, they probably don't care about work of mouth since I would never recommend Curb Appeal to anyone's due to the extreme cost). Personally I will be looking for another salon that can do the same quality work (I know they our there since I have been a few) for half the price. Extremely disappointed in being ripped off.
