As a member that uses the treadmills and elliptical equipment, I am positioned in front of the bank of TVs . The owners appear to be conservative news viewers and have setup the TVs to cast only Fox and Newsmax for news programs. As a paying customer, I requested that another news station be setup (they did have MSNOW but turned it to MSNBC then changed it to Fox). It is difficult to avoid seeing the programs during a half hour workout. The staff said they were unable to change it and when I asked a second time, the woman just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I asked in FB messenger and got no response. I do not think it is fair to impose political opinions on customers. I will not renew membership. read more

Yes it's 5 stars and this is also a rebuttal to Margaret and Kimberly's 1 star reviews. Look, this is a family owned business. Mom, Dad, 2 sons. The "employees" for the most part are retirees who were coincidentally members of the gym prior to their employment there. It's a welcoming, fun, friendly atmosphere to get fit in. The ladies that posted these hurtful, negative reviews apparently have expectations from somewhere else. Kimberly, the staffed hours are on the door. Do you regularly go to a business that has their posted hours 8am-7pm at 9pm or 6am? Energy Gym is accessible for use by members 24/7/365. I suppose you expect them to pay someone to staff it at 3am in the hope someone wants to join a gym at that ungodly hour. Margaret, really, you went during posted staffed hours and no one was working. I call BS. You both sound quite like entitled whiners that should just stay where you came from. I went in to Energy Gym for my usual 7:30am workout. Saw many of the usuals but the number of people working out was double because of the number of visitors there! So Kimberly, you drove 30-45 minutes to either West OC or Millsboro. And Margaret, honestly what local gym, if any, did you join that has the classes, equipment, terrific staff and friendly members Energy Gym has? Your loss ladies. read more

TERRIBLE customer service!!!! I am from out of town and arrived at the gym at 6:30 to buy a week pass. There was no one at the counter or even onsite to assist me. When I called the number that was provided in the gym for assistance, I was met with a rude person who told me after I said no one was at the desk to help, "Exactly, we don't open until 8". As a visitor willing to spend $50 for a weekly pass this turned me completely off so I left and went to Planet Fitness. This was a TERRIBLE experience and I would not recommend spending your money here if you are from out of town! read more

This is absolutely my favorite gym with amazing class instructors in addition to the fabulous gym equipment. We've lived here for over 15 years and I've gone to several gyms over the years. When my children were younger I needed a gym with childcare so this place didn't work but once my girls were of age to stay home I came here and it truly is a perfect fit. I started with going to only classes (Zumba, pound, La Blast and Yoga) for years even through Covid. This gym even installed an amazing cleaning system and did zoom classes during Covid which was a lifesaver. However then I stopped going so much after Covid when my professional life got busy. But of course a year later I missed all the friends I had made throughout the years and I came back! Now I use mainly the cardio equipment and stretching room. The great news now is my teen girls love going to the gym now too and come with me so we get to work out together!!! read more

I recently moved here and trying to find a gym. I went to this gym 3 times to check if it had what I wanted and I have never been able to get in. No one is there during their advertised hours. I sent a question online a week ago and got no response. I sent another online question again and got no response. I can only assume they do not want new customers. Their website says just join on line but I am not going to join a gym without visiting it first. read more

I always look forward to my visits to Energy Gym when I'm in town. This gym offers so much beyond just weights and tread mills. It offers LesMills! My favorite class is LM Body Pump. This barbell class targets every muscle group with multiple reps all to a track of music...take advantage of these group classes whenever possible, but get there early because it's super popular!! I especially love taking this Saturday am class with Dawn and Susan...they clearly love teaching body-pump together !! If you can't make a live class, this gym has many virtual classes throughout the day/night. The owners-Tony and Gina are constantly evolving and making positive changes for their clientele. My only disappointment is that I don't have a gym like this near me in NY!! If you are visiting the eastern shore on vacay or if you live here, check it out!! read more

A super nice friendly little neighborhood gym. It has everything you'll need no matter your fitness goals. A high tech room for Zuma and other fitness classes. An exercise room with medicine balls, exercise balls and kettle bells. There's a free weight section with dumb bells, curl bars and weight benches. There is more than enough equipment including arobic machines for everyone. There are almost too many machines because as I said is not a very large facility. Not being a large gym though also has its advantages. There is a much friendlier atmosphere in a smaller one and a staff member not far away. I love having a gym to go to when at the beach. We have a condo in OC. I've been to all the OC gyms close to our condo but I will drive the extra few miles for a clean spot with quality equipment. I'm not a clean freak but I LOVED seeing someone vacuuming and wiping down during my workout!! You can tell they care about everyone's current comfort level. How is it possible to work out in a gym when it is 83 degrees inside? I've asked multiple times why is it so hot and told the A/C is broke. It has been at least a week maybe longer. It should be a priority for your paying members and I can't believe it has been that hot in there for more than a day. It has to be a health code violation to have hot stagnant air with no circulation. I might as well workout outside. The whole reason I go to the gym during the summer is to stay cool. I don't believe you can't get any A/C repairman out there within a few days. read more

Been going here for 3 years now. Excellent facility. Full cardio stations, free weights, and "cable and weight" machines. Prices are quite reasonable. Staff is always there to help and walk you thru an work out. Personal training available. Daily free classes. Big plus, open 24 hours. Owner is a Donald Trump supporter. Fine, but not a political viewpoint that I wish to support. Found out shortly after renewing our membership and before the new term began. Sent a letter cancelling the membership, but the owner (Trump supporter) wants to be an asshole and require us to continue to pay monthly dues, even though we cancelled 4 days, not 3 days after the renewal. If he continues to press his insistence that we pay, I plan to show up with "fuck trump" signs and tee shirts in his gym. I really don't care what someone's political leanings are, but I do not wish to be forced to support someone that has a completely different viewpoint than me. If you bring it to your place of business, you should expect to lose some business because of it. Responding to Gina's reply: I did not yell vulgarities at your staff, but did state that we were leaving because of the very in-your-face political views of the owner of the establishment. We really don't care what you believe or practice; racism, hatred of women, Nazism, or other Trumpian beliefs. We simply don't want to support those beliefs. We did provide you with a written resignation letter stating our reasons for leaving your gym. I do understand that the loss of a customer is not something that you wish to experience, but you continuing pursuit of us, even though our new term had not begun is difficult to understand. Do you really want me in your establishment with my signs and tee shirts. If you do, I will be happy to oblige, but the simple thing to do is to end this now. I like this place because they offer short term membership options that are very reasonably priced. A week is just $35, and they give you a card which enables 24 hour access. It's definitely not a fancy place, but it wasn't all that crowded when I went and I was able to do abs, biceps, triceps, and chest workouts without constantly bumping into people (leg day tomorrow, I promise!). I also really like that they have a TRX station, which is great for a variety of different workouts. They also have ample free weights, but these are a little old and that area was pretty disorganized when I went. Still, definitely was able to get in a great workout before hitting the beach. I recommend this place if you're vacationing in the Fenwick area and need something more than just cardio equipment. Love that it's 24 hours! read more

I was looking for yoga during my stay here and I was pleased to find this gym through the Mind Body app. The first class was free and it was really easy to view the schedule and sign up on my iPhone. The staff were very friendly and showed me to the yoga room. I took Rhonda's class on Monday morning at 8am and it was a nice balance of strength, flexibility, and relaxation. I hate to leave bad reviews on small businesses. Especially during Covid. But I feel lied to... I was told that 24/7 service would be restored June 15th. I signed up early June contingent on this due to my busy work schedule. It is now July 8th and the gym is still not 24/7. I understand this is not in Energy gym's control. But a refund is... I have been with Energy now for 2 years. I love the fact that all classes are included in the price, and a number of classes are offered every day in addition to the gym being available 24/7. Staff is friendly and helpful and the gym is kept very clean. I wish some classes were offered more than others, and at different times of the day, however, all in all, this is a good gym. read more

$35 gets you a week's unlimited pass to this gym with no sign-up or registration fees. I was in Fenwick Island and the nearest Anytime Fitness or Snap Fitness is so ridiculously far away. We searched for the closest gym available and Energy Gym had everything we needed to get a great workout in. The cardio equipment is reasonably new and they have a TRX room! The weight resistance machines were in superb quality, however the free weights were starting to show their age. Overall I had a great experience here and I would recommend if you are spending the summer in the area. read more

This place is out-dated and HORRIBLE customer service. Most of the staff in this gym is actually nice and tries there best to accommodate people when they can....that being said the owner of the gym is a total asshole.I have seen him get into fights with other customers at the gym overstep his boundaries and attack people working out for the smallest of things. I wont get into the details of other peoples experiences but i will state mine..I was working out and i was doing super-sets with 2 machines on my last set on one machine someone came up and tried to start using the machine i told them that they could work in but i had one left. They were nice about it and told me they would wait until their partner arrived. I finished that set and told them they could use the machine and then proceeded to my next machine a man started to use the machine and i told him exactly what i told the gentlemen on the last machine that i had 1 set left and i would be done....Needless to say the owner came over and started to yell at me telling me that the other gentlemen could use the machine if he wanted. I told the owner that he was more then welcome to use it and that i told the gentlemen right before i wasn't owning the machine just letting him know what the situation was. The owner proceeded to tell me that he was letting me know and that this is his gym and he doesn't need my money and that i could leave right now... I told him he had horrible customer service and that he had no idea what he was talking about. He honestly tried to make me feel like i was nothing as a customer and I couldn't believe the level and how he talked to me i will never go back and i suggest anyone else who is deciding on a gym near me choose somewhere else. read more
