Eddie came out for a 1 hour consultation, and not only had techniques and products to help encourage the high and low lights of the new wood grain to match the existing floors, but also knew the finishing products to encourage the aged patina. After our professional home kitchen build firm couldn't find a flooring specialist in their expansive network who were even willing to try to meet our needs, I found Elite flooring by chance. Eddie and his team scored a home run with accuracy, professionalism, precision, and work ethic. His team completed the job under budget and ahead of schedule. Not one inch of our custom cabinets or appliances were damaged, and the clean up was impressive. The tile backsplash again was a precise job, and he finished it ahead of schedule and under budget. Three guys, one day, left my home all day and would even trust these guys to babysit! I will be having Elite flooring back to refinish the floors in rest of my house, and to do bathrooms. Staff would not return calls or provide estimates as promised, requiring my having to initiate following up with staff on 5-6 occasions when they did not act congruent to their word. My floor was installed and it revealed knots and colors not depicted in the sample; I again had to pursue follow up weeks later to only be told the manufacturer determined that I should somehow have anticipated these knots and colors to exist in spite of the sample not even indicating in writing these potential variations and staff not educating me to this point. The contracted staff who actually installed the flooring itself were professional, thoughtful, considerate, and hardworking. They did a wonderful job on the floor itself. However, the floor is not consistent with my expectations and, even worse, main business staff fails to communicate in a timely way to resolve outstanding issues (such as needing to re-install a small molding piece that has been outstanding for nearly two months now). While I empathize that the business may be experiencing staffing limitations and transitions, the lack of communication and action turned an otherwise joyous renovation into a stressful and disappointing experience. I will not personally use this company for future renovations, which is disappointing.

When I insisted we met to clarify, his price was $1000 more than the original price and it became clear the scope of work he had in mind did not align with my expectations. George said he would call me back that evening after looking at the numbers to see if he could do better. He did not ever call. The next day, when I decided to hold off due to budget concerns, I communicated this respectfully. (I never signed any contract) In response, I received a series of unprofessional and harassing messages from George, the owner, (at 4:30 am!) including insults (calling me stupid several times) and inappropriate language. ("FU") This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is unacceptable and left me shocked. I recommend steering clear of west Hartford Finishing.

That was never explained to me over the phone. Yes, it was a few dollars, but that is not the point. It is the principle. Professionalism is what I expected from beginning to end. I call back and the owner Gabe begins blaming a shipping delay and says should be in within 4 days. That day comes and goes, no update provided. I call again and again, shipping delays etc. etc. Haggled with the owner to give me some sort of discount, to which he finally agrees. In the end what was quoted as a 10 day project (from initial ordering to installation) turned out to be over a month long ordeal. To make matters worse, the receptionist 'Jordan' is completely unprofessional and beyond rude. She called less than 48 hours after the job was finally completed telling me I "still hadn't paid". I called her back to remind of how long I had to wait and that I would pay by the end of the week. Instead of apologizing for the delay, she yelled at me and proceeded to talk over me until I hung up on her. She tried to immediately call me back, which I obviously declined. She then left a message telling me I can't "disrespect her and that I can't talk to her that way" before placing me on a minute long hold...on my voicemail. Appalled is the only word I can use to describe the treatment I got from this business. I have told no less than 5 people to NEVER do business with this company and I hope 5,000 read this review.
