Located close to my hotel during a recent business trip, I went here out of proximity and convenience. Whoa! What a pleasant surprise! I don't usually expect such great food at a brewery, but I have to say that the Faroe Islands Salmon was astonishing!! Served with seasonal vegetables and rice pilaf, the fish was hot and absolutely delicious. What did they do different? What made this fish incredible was the lemon vinaigrette drizzled over the top. Sweet and tangy without overpowering the fish, I actually found myself regretting that the experience would end soon. It...was...that...good. They have an exceptional selection of home-brewed beers and I selected the Irish Red Ale. Malty and delicious, it paired very well with the fish. I also saw that their Belgian Tripel had an ABV of 11% and had to try a sample - maybe I'll get the full next time as I found it very good as well. Kayla our server was terrific. We each ordered a paddle of beers. She was very knowledgeable. Started with cheese curds that were pillow soft and so flavorful. The spicy dipping sauce worked with the cheese beautifully. We shared a harvest salad. It was delicious. Pecans, blue cheese crumbles, fresh greens a maple vinaigrette that I wasn't sure about but it was really good. Disappointing Service this evening, waiter Nic did not listen or communicate. We specifically asked for vegetables this evening with the Salmon instead of the rice, when the dinner arrived we mentioned that we had ordered double vegetables, Nic put back on us instead of bring us some vegetable. Totally clueless, I asked what he recommended for dinner, he said Meatloaf because of how good the vegetables were, and that's what he was having this evening. So I order the meatloaf and I get double serving of Potatoes, Mash and skillet Potatoes. You spend your time giving your dinner order and good money and get disappointing non caring service. Loved the hamburger horseshoe! The French fries on this Springfield specialty are really delicious- skin on, fried just right, thin. Video gambling. It's also a brewery. The $5.00 flight of 4 beer samplers was nice. I tried a peach, and blackberry type beer. I probably would not have ordered a pint of Peach beer on its own, but the sampler assisted me in trying it without having to go All-In. My girlfriend and I stopped at Engrained for dinner on Saturday, and I have to say for such an upscale place, the food was the worst I've ever been served. Up until now I had never walked out on a meal, but charging nearly $20 for extremely burned brisket and Mac & cheese that makes Great Value seem gourmet (although in fairness the watermelon radishes were decent-ish) was just too much for me to stomach. My girlfriend had the fried cheese curds, and when they came out they were barely warm, tasted like shoe rubber, with the same consistency. Yum! I wasn't sure what to expect, but this place is delicious! Boyfriend and I each had a flight then shared one so we could try all the beers except the IPA (which we don't care for IPAs). Every one of them was good. I wish I'd had more room to try their local wines or meads. I had a salad with chicken and peaches and boyfriend had the chopped salad. Great place. Tried 10 different beer samples, probably liked 8. That's really high for my wife and I. Lots of staff, very good service. Almost all tables were ordering cheese curds, so we did as well. They were great. Get the bigger size, they go fast. We both had New York strip steaks. They were EXCELLENT. I'm not all about the whole farm to table stuff because in my opinion food is food. However, I will say that I'm incredibly intolerant to garlic, onion, and loads of seasoning. I had ZERO issues after eating here. So, if you have a sensitive gut, this place is for you. Just make sure you read the menu to make sure the item isn't actually cooked with items that may bother you. The classic burger didn't mention the items that bother me and there was no hint of them being in what I ate. I was happy. My wife said her classic cheesecake was "the best ever." Good beers, boring and predictable menu. Brent--Thanks for your response. I don't know how to reply to it or if I can, so I am just editing my comment to elaborate. What you say makes perfect sense, and I appreciate that you stick to the model and support local farmers. However, your response is all about meat. I am sure the majority of your customers are carnivores/omnivores, but a lot of these dishes are still common. Furthermore, I happen to be a vegetarian! It is hard to find vegetarian variety when I go out for good beer--and I do want to eat something when I drink. I have had the vegetarian horseshoe--I think you make it with a black bean burger or portabello mushrooms (it's been a while), which is fine, but it is still a horseshoe, which is on every menu in town. I have had the cheese curds, which are good, but fried bar food, also common. Every place seems to offer spinach and artichoke dip--I don't recall if you do because I probably dismissed it on the menu the last time as it is also predictable (I do the same with mac n cheese sides). Flatbread pizza is another standard--I could name a few other places that have good beer that serve one meatless version. How about some creative vegetable dishes with local produce and vegetable proteins, like quinoa or legumes? I had a delicious vegan Shepherd's Pie at a tavern (not in Springfield) that was made with lentils. I realize I am probably a minority, but I would like to see more veggie variety at many good establishments in town like yours. read more

The Brazilian Bombshell was just the right amount of fruity, I had the chance to check out my first Springfield Ponyshoe (because they had a vegetarian option), and Zak H was a super helpful and friendly server that pointed me in the right directon on the menu.
