My bf and I have been to the Tarzana location once before and although we had to do metered street parking, it wasn't too bad. But boy oh boy this Van Nuys location nails the parking situation (insert sarcasm). We came by this morning (Saturday) and didn't realize it was inside an office building. It's at the bottom lobby area of this big office building and we didn't think it would be a big deal till we turned into the parking lot and realized it was a pay to enter kinda lot.. I said screw it since I originally turned into the BevMo parking lot next door by accident but I should've stayed there and just walked on over lol. I turned into this paid one since I just wanted to get my coffee and after pushing the ticket machine a few times, it didn't spit out a parking ticket and gate didn't open, I was like welp, back it on outta there lol! The ticket machine also said "check printer" which I thought was odd and maybe just broken? I didn't even think of it being "closed" due to the weekend. I backed out and drove next door to just park (Ace Hardware / Verizon). I walked over finally and this lovely young man named Justin greeted us with the loveliest of vibes. I began to rant a bit about the parking situation and he completely understood and explained how it would've been bad if we somehow got in because the parking guy isn't working weekends and you'd need a key to get out of the lot or something so that would've sucked LOL. Glad we managed to park next door and walked over. Justin had great vibes and really felt like a friend we already knew. Talked about current video games such as Expedition 33 and Deadlock and he made my Iced "Sam" latte all within a timely matter. I love the salted vanilla flavor that you don't typically see on menus in other coffee shops! Perfect balance and tastes fantastic. Great service and glad this coffee run ended well lol! My assistant and I have been craving peanut butter toast for ages! So today while out walking the pack I yelled places near us that served it! Here's my only two complaints: 1) It's in a medical building (I think) so you have to pay to park in the lot. No validation and limited parking anywhere close. 2) I loved the granola and blueberries on top BUT the drizzled vanilla syrup was too much. Also they use JIF and it's just sugary sweet already! Price was reasonable and service was super quick! When you call to order you are instructed to leave a message or text. They actually text me immediately and asked how they could help. I ordered via text and it was so easy! Plus the person on the other end was extremely helpful. Great customer service. read more

My first time here and let me tell you how frustrating parking situation is. Very confusing to figure out where to park. And the parking in front is not free. The cold brew I got tasted ok, not the best but not bad either. Customer service was ok. There was no one there when I stopped by Monday morning so I got my order right away. The place is aesthetically not pleasing, two tables and few chairs to sit in the lobby area. As much as I have loved enigma i recently stopped at the Tarzana location To get myself a Lovers Addict Well the cup was so white with so much milk it was more milk than anything .... Like if I ordered a cup of milk I know it has milk but not when it's super white and tastes like milk only. The barista saw how white it was he added another half a shot of espresso it was still so milky/white but I didn't want to say more I took it like that. I've had so many in the past they were perfect not so milky lately the milk portions are out of hand. Last week I stopped at this location Sherman Oaks Was there at 3:20 pm to get me another Lovers Addict. I said let me try again... Barista said the espresso machine was closed he could do my lovers addict with cold brew.... I needed caffeine bad I told him go ahead I'm not a fan of cold brew ... And yup sure thing I wasn't pleased but I had paid for it I was not going to throw it away. 2 not so great experiences back to back Makes me double think if I should stop throwing away my money like that. Ooof. I'm sure this was a one-off but I ordered a matcha latte with soy milk from here, and it tasted *so* bad. I drink soy milk a lot, including buying the Cartons from Trader Joe's of it, and sometimes I have a hard time using the soy milk before it goes bad. And I think maybe that's what happened here? The soy milk tasted bad, like it was far past its due date to me. Sad because it was $6.50 or 7 before tip :( the barista was really nice tho and got the drinks out quick. My partner really liked his oat milk latte. It's a convenient spot to grab coffee and go but not really meant to hang out in the coffee shop. There might be seating elsewhere on the premises (it's in building with a few other businesses). read more

This coffee place is inside a building so you might have to either park at verizon or get your parking stamp in :) Taste: YUM YUM they do know how to make delicious coffee. The extraction was perfect. This location is smaller but cute. Thumbs up because is not crowded and you get your coffee quickly. Service was good too!! read more

This place is too good, I got their iced salted caramel latte and a blueberry muffin. The coffee is delicious, not too bitter or too sweet, it's the perfect blend, the blueberry muffin is criminally good, the blueberry feels like jelly, it's sweet and delicious. While it has taken me a few tries to figure out where the coffee shop was due to the way parking looks, I'm so glad I just took a risk and went in today! I went in thinking I would get a mocha....but the gentleman working suggested the Monday special which was a Salted Vanilla Oat-milk iced latte and pastry for 9$. Since I was trying the place for the first time I just said yes and happy I did. The SOMVL is delightful, blueberry muffin very nice, will try a croissant next time! When you order a "Mexican Spiced Mocha" you should expect a little chocolate, a little spice, some bitterness from the coffee, richness from the milk . . . What you should not be drinking is just hot milk with grainy espresso throughout the cup and absolutely no "mocha" flavor let alone any spice. And that cup of milk was $6.75. $5.50 for a blueberry muffin that hardly has any blueberries except for maybe the 2 used to garnish it? I can't fault them entirely since it's clear the pastries aren't made in house, but cmon source them from somewhere decent. This tiny coffee shop is located inside an office building. There's a gated entry for the parking lot and a fee is required. The shop itself is very small and barely fits two customers inside. It's located very close to the building's main entrance. I ordered a small drip coffee. It tasted sour like it was brewed the day before. The bill came out to four dollars. There's a menu taped to the window outside the shop and some food items are listed as well. However, there's no prices displayed anywhere on the menu. Hours are wrong on the website and Apple Maps. I went there on a Saturday at 1:30 and they are closed, even though the website says they close at 3:30. Drove 10 minutes out of my way just to go to a quaint mom and pop coffee shop only to find there's no free parking in the lot -minimum payment of $2.50 for 20 minutes of parking even with validation. My partner loves their salted latte and tastes the freshness of the coffee. This is a spot that we enjoy to go. It is a bit pricey but worth it when you have the money. read more

I saw this place on Google maps and decided to try it out since it was near Lake Balboa and I was taking my grandma for a day out. I didn't realize it would be in an office building and you have to pay $2 for every 20 min. So just be aware of that if you decide to go. I had to pay like $2.29 since I had to wait for a bit. For me, I ordered the lavender matcha and avocado toast. Honestly it was one of the best matcha drinks I've had from a coffee shop and I've been around. They don't put too much milk like a lot of other places tend to do. The avocado toast was okay. I usually order avo toast when I'm at a new cafe since it's pretty simple and i love avocado, but I couldn't really taste the avocado :(. There was a LOT of flavor like a lot of spices and even arugula on top so if you're into that then maybe you will like it. Also they were unfortunately out of egg so I don't know if that could have made me like it more. For my grandma, I got her a hot chocolate and a peanut butter toast. I did need to request changes to her food since she needs softer food to eat (I asked for no granola and untoasted) and they were very kind and accommodating. There was also only one person working when I went and I applaud him for being able to do everything himself. I tried the peanut butter bread (it comes with blueberries) and it tasted pretty good! I didn't expect the combo but it was pretty good. You could probably make it at home though, they just use skippy peanut butter. My grandma liked it and also the hot chocolate. also side note and personal preference but I really like how they use sourdough bread for a lot of their stuff. i freaking love sourdough.
