The main thing that stands out here is their 1987 coffee roaster which is the center piece of the cafe. They roast various single origin beans on a daily basis, so you know you can purchase some fresh coffee beans here. If you need your beans grounded, they do grind it for you depending on your brewing method. They have beans of light roast, medium roast and dark roast and sell by various weights for a very reasonable price. They also sell various tea leaves, baked goods (croissant, muffin, scones, bagel, Danish, coffee cake, Dessert Therapy cookies, and merchs. They also have a seasonable menu that changes. When I went, it was the Sakura season menu. Staff were all friendly and were very willing to answer any questions regarding the menu. Please note, the base coffee blend for each day varies and rotates on a daily basis For my visit, I tried ... 1. Buttered Coffee (4.5/5) The base coffee for the day was the Peru single origin, which was well-balanced; slightly sweet with a hint of tartness and nuttiness. They then add a chunk of butter into the coffee, which helps cut some of the acidity, but also is supposed to enhance the caffeine effect and give you additional energy from the fat. It does leave a layer of fat/oiliness so if you are not a fan of that, then this may not be for you. The butter did give it a subtle buttery flavor, which I personally liked. 2. Matcha with Sakura Cold Foam (4/5) The matcha was blended smoothly and was not grassy at all. The Sakura cold foam didn't really taste like Sakura (been to Japan, so know what real Sakura flavor should taste like), but instead, just tasted floral. 3. Columbia Supremo Whole Beans Full body and aromatic. Good for those who like to drink black coffee 4. Guatemala Huehuetenango Whole Beans: Crisp, acidic and a hint of nuttiness Glad I found this local roaster where I'll definitely be coming back to get some more fresh beans.

I noticed a lot of customers coming in specifically to grab beans, which honestly makes total sense once you're in there. If you're looking for beans or grounds, this is definitely your spot. If you're looking for a latte though, it's not the best. 3/5 if you're coming for a drink! If this review helped, a thumbs up is always appreciated

It's a really cute little cafe, that shares a space with a furniture store. It's located in a great part of Sherman Oaks and it seemed like the place had many regulars. Upon entering I was greeted by both the barista and the cashier/barista. It was quite busy on a Friday at 10:30 am, but I managed to get seating outdoors. It was fully packed inside! I ordered an iced latte and managed to get their lack everything croissant. The girl who took my order was very sweet and friendly. She warmed up my croissant and it was ready in a few mins. Now, my coffee took over 20 minutes to be made. I saw the barista make orders that were placed after mine. Some seemed to be for his regulars, which was annoying and was not appreciated. I was also in a bit of a rush, but managed to just make it out in time for my appointment. I enjoyed the coffee and croissant, but did not appreciate waiting over 20 mins for my iced latte which should have been ready with my croissant!

It's very inviting and very comfortable. We chose to eat outside and the patio was cool and has a lot of plants to add to a nice patio feel. Our server was always one step ahead of our needs. She gave us timely refills and knew just when to prepare to go cups of our beverages. The food was very good. We had the classic breakfast with a choice of salad over potatoes. I appreciated that was already set up as a choice. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich with a fruit plate. The sandwich had sausage. If I were to order it again I would ask for bacon instead. This would be a place I would stop in if in the area. It's across from the Pantages and next door to Amoeba records. You will find a nice relaxing spot for breakfast/brunch.

The atmosphere is beautiful, especially in the morning. The whole interior of the hotel is absolutely stunning, and the outdoor seating area is so cozy and chic. It makes for such a nice, peaceful way to start the day. Service was also consistently great--quick, warm, and kind. The coffee was definitely the highlight for me. I only ate breakfast here once, but came back for coffee every day and it never disappointed. The cappuccino was smooth and delicious, and I also really enjoyed the Mont Blanc specialty drink. I also stopped by for a late lunch one day. There weren't a ton of gluten-free options on the bar food menu (they weren't serving dinner yet), but when we asked about it, the staff really went above and beyond to accommodate me and made me a gluten-free club sandwich. I really appreciated the extra effort. I came back for dinner another night and had the beef kebabs, which were really tasty. My biggest complaint about the atmosphere is actually the music. For such a beautiful, upscale space, the soundtrack feels completely mismatched. They played loud upbeat, electronic/club-style music at night and even throughout much of the day while I was there. I understand wanting it to feel trendy, but the constant electronic beats really detracted from the atmosphere. Something like vibey jazz, R&B, or lounge music would complement the space so much better. Breakfast was also just okay, particularly for the price. I expect hotel restaurants to be overpriced, but around $90 for breakfast and coffee for two people felt really steep for what we got. Nothing was bad, but the food just wasn't memorable enough to justify the price. Overall, Café Goldie is a beautiful spot with wonderful service, excellent coffee, and a staff that really made an effort to accommodate my dietary needs. I especially recommend stopping by for coffee or an early evening happy hour.
