    Caramel Latte
    Ana P.

Ive been to The Boy and The Bear a total of two times. The coffee shop itself is spacious but fills up quick! The coffee shop is located inside of an antique shop. Their menu is super simple & limited, nothing crazy like flavored lattes with clouds on top. If you're looking for instagrammable drinks & popular trendy flavors this place isnt it.The first time I had their coffee I thought it was good, but not memorable. Second time I had it I gotta say I enjoyed it more, simple but was pretty good. I also had tried their Iced tea which was good. I recommend grabbing your coffee and strolling the antique furniture store. Service is okay, nothing out of the ordinary.

    Stockholm Fog and Cappuccino

Update: Came back in and had another Stockholm Fog, because it is absolutely fantastic! And I will never get enough of it. Also my husband had a Vanilla Latte that was perfection! It has officially become OUR coffee spot. Can't wait to share this gem with my friends and family. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Stopped by this weekend to try it out with a friend. The location its self is very cute, a bit small and definitely doesn't have a ton of seating space. But the atmosphere is fantastic! I had the Stockholm Fog and OMG! It was delicious! I would without a doubt recommend it to everyone! My friend had a Cappuccino, which we didn't love. We found it to be a bit bitter. The service was good. They were nice and polite.

Please do something about the dog urine smell by the planters outside next to the bench/seats. I'm a fan of their Culver City location which is where I reside and was looking forward to experience this location and enjoy their outdoor seating but unfortunately the experience was ruined by the strong smell of dog urine accumulated on and around the planter next to the outdoor seats. You can actually see the stained areas of where the urine has stayed on the floor and planter. Please pressure wash the area from time to time and put signs for dog owners to prevent their dogs from urinating near areas where people sit. Dog owners could do their part too. I love dogs and I may have a very sensitive sense of smell but it was so overwhelming to sit outside, I had to sit inside. Other than that, great coffee and nice staff.

Iced salted caramel latte with oatmilk 8/10

Finally got the chance to get coffee here! I always pass by and because it's not really noticeable from outside I forget it exists. Theres no parking lot just street parking. I walked for a bit but good thing I don't mind walking. I went on a weekday morning and there was no line but the cafe was crowded. Pretty much every seat was taken. You can enter through the concept store and look to your left and you'll see the entrance to the cafe. I ordered an iced salted caramel latte with oatmilk. It was pretty good. Not too sweet and just the right amount of coffee. But I felt like the barista didn't fill up my cup. Like just a bit more and it would've been right. The pastries looked extremely inviting but I didn't get one since I usually don't only if I'm ready to treat myself but now I know their pastries look good so I'd get one here. Pretty chill spot overall. Just the parking makes it inconvenient.

Ambiance is cute and I love the name of this place! It is usually crowded whenever I come and always have to opt for their few outdoor seats. It's difficult to hold conversation outside because of the street noise but if you enjoy people watching, and being around the bustle you'll enjoy. Service is fast. Their iced matcha and cold brew coffee are good. I would appreciate this coffee shop to be more of a reliable spot to do work, and chat with friends but due to difficulty finding street parking, and assuming you will have to wait for seats to open up for while, it's been more of a grab and go place for me. The place is kept clean which keeps me coming back. Plus, dog friendly!

Perfect coffee shop for studying or a little coffee date. I think it's so cute that there is an antique shop attached to it, I took a stroll inside though and saw that a picture was around $400, so not sure if I would do anything other than window shop lol. The savory pastry I tried was truly heavenly and the hot vanilla latte did not disappoint

    an Organized lattee

Quality good. service here is very excellent they have energy to ensure you arrive and leave satisfied. cinnamon roll was perfect sugared generously and not with processed frosting the latte the star of the show was very organized, detailed, and perfect Will return to try the mocha perhaps or just another good lattee

The coffee shop is super cute. I love the Boy and the Bear theme. It's also connected to the most beautiful antique furniture store. I enjoy the latte and the baked goods are fresh; the quality is better than any other coffee shop around, but more than anything i enjoy the vibes. They are also dog friendly which is amazing. They have little treats my dog loves. The employees are truly what makes this place so special. Clarke & Jordan are my favorite. Also Sahad makes the best latte; it's always a little hotter and tastes a little better when he is there. But the entire staff is really great. I definitely recommend this spot.

    Iced Cortado

Parking is super hard to find. We ended up parking at the Pavillions parking structure across the street. Service was super friendly & quick. They don't have any house specialty coffees but their espresso was great. Got an iced cortado & it was smooth but a bit watered down. Recommend if you're in the area & want some good coffee; nothing fancy.

Nordic cold brew latte, vanilla latte, chocolate cookie
    Melissa G.

The coffee shop is situated next to a very popular cafe. Theres a parking garage in the back but it was so packed when we went we had to find parking a few blocks down the street. The coffee shop was also very busy and loud! The staff were very friendly, and because it was busy they were a little backed up on the drinks. The menu is only displayed at the register so that was a minus for us. We ordered the Nordic cold brew latte, a chocolate cookie, and the vanilla latte. The cold brew latte was very strong and needed more sweetener. The vanilla latte was delicious and creamy! The chocolate cookie was lay but we wish they didn't hear it up because by the time our drinks were ready the cookie was melty and super crumbly and messy. The pricing was average for a coffee shop. We wouldn't go back because of it being so busy, but if you're in that area and want to try out a new coffee destination, give them a try!

    Dirty Chai with whole milk
    Wechsler T.

This is my new go to spot for my dirty chai. I've tried dirty chais from other places have been greatly disappointed because of how good this place is. It's a great work environment and the staff here is great. Jordan (employee) always has a great energy and a contagious joy. Jenna is a real sweetheart too! Him and Jenna make a MEAN dirty chai! My only problem I have with the spot is that more people are finding out about it making it hard for me to find a table to work at

Iced Matcha Latte with Simple Syrup; Iced Americano
    Jacky D.

I'm speaking specifically for the matcha: At first sip, it was good because I was thirsty and I really wanted matcha somewhere. But then I realized how milk-y the drink itself was. I was recommended to get simple syrup (over vanilla and honey syrup) to make my drink a bit sweet but still taste the matcha. I personally BARELY tasted the matcha because the milk was just very overpowering and it just felt like matcha flavored milk (light green-white) rather than a solid (nice vivid green) matcha latte. I personally wouldn't get this again... There seemed to be no outlets when I looked at The Boy & The Bear. Wi-fi is limited to only 2 hours with purchase. They left the door open, so it felt a bit hot (compared to other cafes with A/C), especially on a day where there's a heat wave, I wished it was a bit cooler in the space). The price is the typical $7-8/drink (so expensive but typical in this economy). But at least, there's (free) parking behind the building (though it's a bit tight and limited). There are some seats inside to work, chat, and sip your drink. Barely any line (visited on a Sunday afternoon), but there was limited seating when I went.

    Apple Pie Danish

Needed a pick-me-up coffee before driving to Santa Barbara and ended up here. Cute decor, strong and delicious coffee, and yummy pastries! All the tables were taken so it's definitely a popular spot in the mornings.

They use Onyx (from what i noticed), and the sound of the milk being steamed sounded silky (-: ! The layout of the cafe is nice: entry/line formation moves in a counter clockwise motion. Allows customers to enter space and wait in line while leaving space for people to exit/ wait to pick up their drink. First come, first serve for pastries - expect this for freshness purposes. Drink and their components are measured for consistency and quality control. Wait is subjective in relation to volume at the time which you go. Came in at about 1:30 PM on a Sunday (today was 8/16). Curated menu for their specialty drinks that aligns with their identity. Standard menu for espresso based beverages. Great selection for their Single Origin menu. Roasters they use align with those they highlight on their shelves for retail as a multi-roaster cafe. Ordered a Columbia from Hydrangea - enjoyed thoroughly! When it was still quite hot you get the heavy aroma and flavor of the pastry notes in the coffee. Then more tea-like once it cools down more. Coldbrew in the Woodman did not feel like your typical bold-in-flavor base. Which I think works for the inclusions in the beverage. Not your typical/second wave coffee shop. It's cool to see shops want to bridge that gap between fun drinks and specialty coffee! Kudos to Lynx!

It was 7:58 a.m., and I stopped in to grab my usual coffee before my appointment next door. I accidentally left my wallet at home, my Apple Pay wasn't working, and the only cash I had was a $100 bill. My total was only $8.50. I even offered a simple solution--I asked if another employee could pay for my coffee and I would immediately Zelle them the money. All three employees told me that was "beyond their job duties" and refused to help. Instead, they pointed to the sign stating they don't accept $100 bills and had me leave without making any effort to accommodate a regular customer. The disappointing part isn't that they couldn't break a $100 bill--it's that no one showed even the slightest willingness to help find a solution. I come here almost every Friday because I have appointments at the salon next door, and after this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. A little kindness and customer service go a long way. Unfortunately, I found neither here.

When I went, it was the Sakura season menu. Staff were all friendly and were very willing to answer any questions regarding the menu. Please note, the base coffee blend for each day varies and rotates on a daily basis For my visit, I tried ... 1. Buttered Coffee (4.5/5) The base coffee for the day was the Peru single origin, which was well-balanced; slightly sweet with a hint of tartness and nuttiness. They then add a chunk of butter into the coffee, which helps cut some of the acidity, but also is supposed to enhance the caffeine effect and give you additional energy from the fat. It does leave a layer of fat/oiliness so if you are not a fan of that, then this may not be for you. The butter did give it a subtle buttery flavor, which I personally liked. 2.
