Great mechanic shop! Couldn't be more happy with the service and work done to my 2013 Ram 1500 my engine was bad and Dennis was upfront with me after doing the inspection which he does not charge for the first 30mins and I guess it didn't take longer to diagnose .... that my cam shaft and lifters were bad and told me that he didn't feel comfortable fixing that and it was better to get a new engine if I wanted....Obviously I wasn't happy I needed a new engine so I took it to other shops to get other opinions and was charged 180$ to be told exactly the same thing at another mechanic shop down the street. I ended up getting the new engine and it has been great and Dennis gave me the best price I called multiple shops and he did it for the best rate I got from calling other shops with a warranty and he is AAA approved. "Enjoying Mechanics" took over the place that used to be "Fair Auto" -- which I've been going to for the past 16 years until Bill retired earlier this year. I didn't realize this until it was time for my synthetic oil change for my Toyota Rav4 Hybrid Limited. When I looked up "Enjoying Mechanics", I was glad to hear that they've been in business since 1971, had moved to Fountain Valley in 1993, was purchased by Dennis in 2004, and recently moved to HB location (near Gothard and Talbert) in 2024. I called them this AM and Dennis immediately answered. He gave me a reasonable quote for the synthetic oil change (currently there's an Oct 2024 special for oil change) and an estimate for my 60K major service. I was able to bring in my car this morning at 9:30am. Since it would take about 1-1.5 hours, I just walked over to the HB Central Library to catch up on some work. I got a call at 10:45am that the car was ready. Walked back, paid, and was on my way. Very glad that I found another trusty and fair auto mechanic shop. read more

Was recommended to Enjoying Mechanics from AAA Insurance, smog certification. Needed a leaky vacuum hose replacement to pass and also for a free AAA, 40 points inspection. During the inspection, they found that the valve cover was leaking and needed to be removed and replaced. Enjoying also fixed the vacuum hose. My truck was ready in no-time and the cost was very reasonable with also a AAA 10% off labor. I will be using Enjoying Mechanics in the future for all my cars. Unfortunately, we have not had good luck with them. 4 of our cars had to go back in after servicing bc his mechanic continually forgets to hook back up wires, refill fluids, and such. Then they broke our dash board and have given us the run around about fixing it. We are done there. read more

I can't believe the honesty and service I received at this mechanics shop! If it didn't happen to me, I probably would've thought I was lying! I brought my minivan in one rainy day because I needed the rear quarter panel window mechanism fixed. The latch bolt and nut had fallen off so I had gone on Amazon to buy the parts and try to replace them myself. After an hour of frustration--and feeling quite defeated--I gave up and decided to bring it into this shop for help. When I walked in the door, a young man stopped what he was doing and approached me immediately. I told him my situation and he brought some tools outside and started working. I was kind of surprised by his willingness to help me so quickly so I figured it was probably a quick fix. Well, 10 minutes passed and he was still tinkering in my van. He asked me to turn on the engine and use the controls on the dashboard to adjust the window so that it would better align and expose the control arm properly while he worked on it in the back. Another 5 minutes passed and then it started to rain. Oddly, he continued to work without any hesitation so I took out an umbrella and stood over him to keep him dry. It took him a good 25-30mins to finally get everything bolted back on securely and to his satisfaction. I felt vindicated for not being able to "DIY" this myself earlier. And then a strange thing happened. After he had finished, he packed up his tools and said to me "Okay, you're good to go!" and then went right back into the shop without even looking back. I stood there in the parking lot for a minute wondering if I had misheard him. Did this young man really spend almost half an hour on my car and then sent me home without billing me for his time? That can't be right. . . . So I went back into the shop ready to fill out some forms and to pay for the service I had just received. When I got inside, the young man was genuinely surprised to see me. Then an older gentleman came out from an adjacent room and in the warmest voice this side of the North Pole asked me for a very nominal fee. He turned to the young man and said "well you did spend a good 20 minutes of your time out there." I paid him the cash and went home quite flabbergasted yet elated by this place. They have gone well over and beyond my expectations. As silly as it sounds, I can't wait to come back here for any future car-related issues! read more

This is a response for Dennis. In my glove compartment, I have CDs and another book. The manual is always on top of my other book, but when I checked after getting serviced the manual was underneath that book. So if you were just searching for the manual that other book shouldn't have been moved at all. And you should ask next time before going through someone's personal space. My new mechanic who replaced your defective starter didn't even do that. For a part that lasted only 2 weeks, that shows some serious careless work from the company and a poor choice of sourcing on your part. That is why I didn't care for the warranty because how can you guarantee me that you'll give me the best part the second time when you gave me the worst one the first time? I didn't want to take my chances. Also, you didn't let me know it was a rebuilt or I would not have gone with that. read more

My poor Honda Civic needed some love. I live in LA where the streets are uneven and the traffic lights are suggestions. After about 4 years of driving around the bumpy streets, I began feeling some extreme wear on my car. For those of you living in or around LA, the unevenness of the streets create unnecessary wear on the suspension, mounts, and struts. These components keep the car functioning smoothly when driving; they also provide shock absorption so that the vehicle handles better. After about 4 years of living in LA, surviving surprise potholes and ridiculous inclines, my poor car started to feel unstable; driving slow caused rattling and driving fast sent extreme vibrations through the entire car. I knew I had to do something or suffer a large accident. I've never been to Enjoying Mechanics. I visit my friends in Fountain Valley and they've spoken highly of the place: speedy service and no ridiculous labor costs. David helped me, today. I told him I had concerns about the jittery car and pointed out that my struts might be damaged and need replacing. He took note and I left the car for a couple hours for inspection. As someone who knows nothing about cars, his observations and advices were very helpful. Turns out my struts, although worn--130,000 miles will do that--did not need replacing. What needed immediate attention was the front arm and the set of mounts that fastened the front two wheels. The results he promised were delivered. My car no longer has trouble going over speed bumps and the vibrations lessened considerably. He even summarized further repairs if I'm so inclined to fix my car further. I am new to the area and had to get my car looked at after the check engine light came on. After a very helpful phone call, I took my car in. I dropped my car off and within an hour David called me to update me. He was honest with me about my car and that it wasn't something that I had too much to worry about and to take care of it when I can. They did not try to make up work that didn't need to be done which I feel isn't common anymore. Best part is that the $52 diagnostic actually goes to work done on your car. So it's basically a free diagnostic if you get your work done there. That's AMAZING. I don't know if this is common practice but since I only lived a couple miles away David actually came and picked me up to get my car. One of the most positive automotive experiences I've ever had.
