They were busy yet we're able to take a look at the car. Every step along the way the explained what they were going to do, the costs and then the final repairs and time associated with such repairs. Costs were reasonable, Jeff Lucente the technician was very knowledgeable and clear as to what could be done and what should be done. They were very timely in their repairs. The even made a few favorable financial changes in my favor. They took a few pics for me to send to the previous mechanic who did previous repair work badly causing this issue to arise. Now I take my personal cars to Ron. The shop is always clean and plenty of seats in the loby if you are waiting. I find their prices fair as the mechanics are trained & cerfified and shows the intergrity of the place. (They want you to be happy & return) They make recomendations for repairs and dont force them on you. Ron Catt is a great place to bring your car if you live in the Huntington Beach area. Came in for a complementary 40 point AAA nspection and was amazed at how thorough his mechanic was. They took photos of all the diagnosis like a dentist would take a photo of your teeth so you can visualize what problems are instead of just blindly diagnosing and hoping you just trust their word. I also got a ride home and back with Ron himself. I am happy to find a new trustworthy place to take my car. The wait is long but I don't mind waiting if the real problems with my car are addressed. Took my old Ford to Ron Catt Auto today for a much needed oil change etc. They did a good job and also suggested some problems to look out for. I've been to several mechanics over the years but Ron's small unassuming shop is my favorite place for auto related repairs and Ron, himself is a great guy. I'd rate his prices vary from 'very fair' to 'way less than expected' and trust his expert analysis of what my car needs. He doesn't exaggerate what parts should be ordered. Cars are fickle machines and repairs can get pretty expensive, but imho parts and labor prices at Ron Catt's are very reasonable. Just basically it's the best shop to take your car to. (Ron's also got excellent people working the front desk , thanks Corwin) On the only negative side their parking lot is pretty small and cramped, but not the worst I've seen. It really bums me out when my car needs work, but when that happens I worry way less because I know a good mechanic! read more

I am so impressed with Ron and his team at Ron Catt Auto Care and highly recommend his shop! I don't live in the area and was looking for a pre-purchase inspection of a used car I was interested in from a local dealer. I searched for a reputable and honest mechanic in Huntington Beach and Ron Catt was at the top of the list. Now I know why. Ron was extremely helpful and asked me all sort of really good questions. He suggested I get a report from autocheck to make sure the history of the used Toyota Tacoma was clean before I invested in an inspection. I took his advice and the report came back very positive and I set up an appointment the next day to have the truck inspected. Ron and his tech spent several hours looking over everything and test driving it. The diagnosis report was very thorough, compete with photos of all areas checked. Ron was very transparent and honest and I felt much more confident purchases the vehicle. Not exactly what I expected this time. I paid $170 for a diagnostic check when we all knew what the problem was i.e. a leaky gasket. Then they wanted $755 to fix it. I found a guy who did it for $320. Then they said I had a bad battery and a burned out brake light and quoted outlandish prices to remedy it. I checked the brake light and it was fine and the battery showed up as good with a test at AutoZone. I would not recommend this shop and I'd really like my $170 refunded as it seems it was for nothing. read more

We love this car shop. They are very friendly and their work is reliable. I searched around and tried a lot of places but this place is the best in the huntington beach area. The parking lot always has a place to park and they are always ready to help when needed. I always call ahead and they let me know if I can come and take it in or if they are booked and can't take it today. They usually can take it in to get it serviced that day. The other thing that I like about this place is that they don't push you to get things done and they are very transparent about what is needed now and what can wait to be fixed later. They always give you a print out of all the work that they did and also have suggested fixes or things to look out for. This is our go to spot to fix our cars and get oil changes. read more

First off, these guys are AMAZING!!! These are the type of guys you want to work on your vehicle. Their customer service is fantastic. These guys answered all my questions and even gave me a breakdown of what happened to my car. They conducted their repairs in accordance with the technical manual and even showed me documents of the results. But the one thing that impressed me the most was the fact that they, listened to me. This reason alone made me decided that these guy are going to be my mechanics from now on. They listened to what I had to say rather than trying to upsell me, unlike Elmore Toyota. They went above and beyond during their repairs and inspection. They even called me about problems that could arise and asked me if they wanted them to repair it. From everything they've said, they did not once try to sell me on any product. They gave me an honest breakdown of my car and what maintenance needs to be done, or what they recommend. They prioritized my priorities first. They made me feel welcomed. For that, I can't recommend these guys enough. I love coming here. I have brought my car (Nissan 370z) to Ron Catt when I moved to Huntington Beach four years ago and would not even consider bringing it anywhere else. They have fixed things from tire replacements to transmission fluid and breaks. Tried to support a local business , but was LIED to and my car was returned worse than when i dropped it off. I went in for battery drain and was quoted an amount that left me with my jaw open, so i decided to get the part myself and still work with Ron Catt to have this installed. After the part got installed and the car returned, i noticed the dash looked like a T-REX had a field day with it. It was gashed up, put on crooked, and the trunk button was left unplugged so the trunk didn't open. This was 1000% operator error. I respectfully addressed these issues with Corbin ( kid at front desk ) and he assured me that it was my cars fault since it was so old. i have the video of this if anyone wants to see . I was left speechless , as Corbin became verbally abusive and telling me this situation was my fault. I then spoke to Ron Catt himself and he took blame for the employee who took off my dash. He said this guy shouldn't have taken it off as he wasn't experienced enough to do this . Again, i was left speechless. I asked to have my dash replaced and the best he would do would be to have it repaired. I reluctantly agreed. 2 weeks later i get back to see my dash was "fixed" with black toothpaste by a "professional" . I will NEVER do business with Ron Catt again. I had my car at my normal shop that I thought was capable of of fixing my car but after two days of the other shop I had enough they ruined my car and they wanted to attempt a third time to fix it. That's when I got my dad on the phone to have him research a different shop. That's when I took my car to Ron. Truly amazing experience very thorough and kept in touch with me the entire day to keep me posted. He took photos as well so that I can get my money back from the other shop. Took my vehicle to this place expecting a great job, however it was awful. I was charged $200 to simply have someone plug in a computer and check the engine. I went to pick up my car at the end of the day and the front desk guy (not Ron) was very rude. He insulted my car stating it was old and what else could I expect. Then when on to say it needed a new turbo, when it did not. He was quoting me $3,500 for this when I knew it was a sensor that only needed to be replaced. He then recommend for me to get rid of my car. I told him it was only a sensor, and then he changed his mind and said it was a valve that needed to be replaced. Finally, he said it could also be a sensor. He was so unprofessional and I would not recommend this place. I was charged a ridiculous amount of money for a diagnostic. I have never been quoted such a price. Don't go here. read more
