Eno's has a smart renovation, friendly service, and mediocre food with too-proud prices. The woodfire pies are too thin, and although I'm not normally a pizza "folder", there is no other way that this pizza can support itself in the trip from the plate to the mouth if it isn't folded once or twice. I have a hearty appetite, but because it has so little substance, I could finish a $17.00 large pie myself. That puts it at about a normal-to-high price for an entree, but a bit high for Forney. Also--we asked to make our pizza half-and-half, which they were good enough to do. But oddly enough, the side with the boar meatballs and goat cheese ("Meatball and the Goat") was practically indistinguishable from the side with simply tomatoes and fresh basil ("Moma's Pie"). I don't know...you'd think there would be enough meat to...see. We just kept guessing as to which piece was which. I also tried the vegetable sandwich, which I wouldn't order again. Here there was TOO much bread, which was plain and dense. The only flavor was the tapenade. I was disappointed, since Forney is lacking in avant garde eateries, and this space sat empty for so long. For better wood fire pies, head back into the city to Fireside, or over to Rockwall to Zanata's. read more

So we went out on a Thursday night. The staff is friendly - vibe is great. They had a singer [Amanda Taylor] - a bit too loud, but nonetheless good music. We ordered the appetizer - the truffle cheesebread [we had to send it back because it was burnt] - no problem they were happy to oblige. The second one was good. I ordered the Arugula Pear salad - and this is completely my fault [I didn't read that it had the "bacon bits"]. I asked for it to be taken off; instead of making a new salad - they lifted off the bacon bits and there were still some bacon bits on my salad. mmm - not impressed. My husband got the pizza - he made his own. He said that it turned out well. I would go again, I guess. Our family of six enjoyed tonight's food bank benefit pre-opening dinner! We had three pizzas, three desserts and drinks. I'll start with service. Our server Khaylon was great! She was friendly, knowledgeable and handled our food allergy needs with such courtesy. We had a Smiley Pig, an iPie and a whatever their version of Hawaiian is. Everything was amazing! I went to Eno's Pizza Tavern for the Forney Education Foundation benefit dinner and I'm delighted to say it's a great addition to Forney. It brings Dallas to you as well as delectable food. Our waiter Mitch was very polite and knowledgeable of the menu and where the ingredients came from. The Pig Smiley Pizza was savory yet sweet which was a good choice of flavoring for this specific pizza. The Alfredo Pasta with Chicken was nice as well; my only complaint was the over doing of Rose Mary. The Hot Chocolate Brownie was spot on, no complaints. You can never go wrong with desserts. My only real down fall is in the drink department. There's water and Dr. Pepper but no Sweet Tea or Unsweet Tea. The rest of the drinks are alcohol based which is great for those on a date night! 4.5 stars! We really liked it and will be back. I wish I could recall the name of our server because he was awesome & set the tone for a fantastic evening. He was so knowledgeable about the menu and helped us choose the best options based on the types of flavors we like. The in laws got the Pig Smiley which I tried. Yum! The hubs and teen got Alfred's pasta. Soooo good! I got the zucchini pasta which was more like a stew, but it was really flavorful...and gluten free!!! The riesling wine was yumsters! The only real negative was the caesar salad. The toasted garlic on top is too too much. I don't even know if the dressing is good because the garlic on top overpowered my taste buds so much that everything else was just there. I might recommend a creamier caesar dressing and actual croutons or something else lighter on top to get the crunch. Also, know that the pasta dishes are not big servings (unless you get the zucchini one which I felt was more than enough because it eats more like a stew). However, if you get a salad for the table to start (just not the caesar) or another starter (like the oh-so-yummy cheese bread), you'll be fine & you'll LOVE it! (Oh. Absolutely love this place! Great selections of beer on tap and the pizza is amazing! If you aren't afraid of a little heat I recommend adding Calabrese peppers to your dish. As another diner wrote, very cute place with great service. However, one comes for the food, which was awful. Chicken cacciatore was luke warm, strange undercooked sauce, too much rosemary, dry bits of chicken & long squiggles of zucchini on top. My husband's meatballs were just as bad. We're new to the area and were really excited about trying Enos. We walk to Enos as a family and have our 1 year old with us. We take a seat and it starts pouring! We walked! With a baby! We decide to order dinner and enjoy ourselves but as you know an hour with a 1 year old at a restaurant is pushing it. Surprisingly baby is doing well. The rain however is not letting up! Some pizzas are about the crust and some are about the toppings. These pizzas are about the toppings. The ingredients are super fresh and incredibly delicious. I love the pig smiley, the heirloom spinach and the meatball and the goat. I do think there are some things you need to know before going. 1. The pizza is super thin crust. If you are expecting a doughy pizza you will be disappointed. 2. The pizzas are cooked in blisteringly hot ovens so the edges might be a little burnt. This is not an error and is even explained on the menu. 3. The cheese pizza is nothing to write home about. It is the creativity of the toppings that make the other pizzas stand out and you just can't get that on a cheese pizza. This may not be the place to take the kids. 4. Try the truffle cheese bread. First of all let me say that the food is good. We have visited the Bishop Arts district several times when we lived in Dallas and we always loved it and were treating nicely there. Last night was the second time we have been to the Forney location and for the second time we felt like we were not wanted there. We stood at the door to wait to be seated for a while, while employees saw us but ignored us (same as last time). Finally someone came and acted bothered to have to seat us. There was no greeting, just "how many do you have?" We were sat and our menus we sort of tossed at us. It was a little late, around 8:00 but they didn't close until 10 and it was a Saturday. Our server, same person who sat us, started to warm up to us a bit and the other workers who came to our table to bring us food seemed much more welcoming. It was just that we felt this way the last time we ate here and decided to give it another shot. After last night we decided we won't be back. Too bad cause the food was very good, and the music/ambiance was good. A new server did come to our table and said she would be taking over our table. Which I thought was a little rude because we were still very polite to our server, but at least she seemed to actually WANT to wait on us. We tip well as I worked in the service industry for 10 years but if a restaurant is doing this so good during a pandemic that they don't care to make (certain) customers feel welcome we can take our money and drive into Dallas to eat. read more
