Amazing freshly cut cured meats here! Make your way away from the touristy area and head over to Campo Santo Margarita square to dine at Bifora. You'll see a bunch of university kids hanging around this area. They have indoor and outdoor seating and are open late. I came at 10pm and it was still a packed house. There is a bar, but most people chose to enjoy some wine with their food rather than just hanging at the standing bar. The prosciutto with melon is to die for. The melon is so ripe, sweet, and juicy and pairs so well with the freshly sliced meats. The meat and cheese plate was also delicious. They gave 5 types of meats along with some cheese and olives. Bread is on the house, but I wouldn't waste your stomach space on this bread. My only gripes about the place was that they are terribly understaffed, so come with a lot of patience. You'll probably be waiting a while to take your order and for your food to come. The prosciutto was delicious, but some pieces were just too mushy and soft.

Awesome! Obviously locals treat this place like home.. Not a place for eating, they dont serve meals, but perfect for small portions of cheese, fish, cold cuts and very good list of italian red and white wine ranging between 15 and 60 euros for a bottle.

Mind you, reader, I only drank their awesome wines and drink ( for 'aperitivo'), and their ate plate of ham/salami/cheese ('tagliere di affettati')

Maybe he was having an off night. He asked what we wanted to try. He'd pour a tasting and then roll his eyes and wander off, bring his friends their charged phones from the back, and then just look at us. Such a shame, we had hoped for a better experience. We found many other places in this area that we loved and enjoyed their wine. Such a cool hip local area.

Location is very nice, right at a pretty trendy canal, filled with lots of restaurants and bars. Right next to is an excellent gelato place. It's quite small inside with few tables, many just hang around outside - and why not, the location at the canale is a pretty spot. We did manage though to get some seats inside. Our Bulldog was very welcome here as well. The various cicchetti are presented at the counter. There are some classics of course, but also some very innovative creations. We went for the latter. There was gorgonzola with strawberry, radicchio with brie cheese, pesto topped with an anchovie and mushrooms, mashed fava beans with pulp and mashed fava with goats cheese and a cherry. All really wonderful combinations. Our favorite were the radicchio and the fava/goat cheese. Surely something to recreate back home. Staff was very friendly, we felt very welcome here. And instead of focussing on Aperol, Select and Prosecco, it's mostly about white and red wine here. And they have an excellent selection of wine. Not all cheap, but definitely worth the money. We especially loved the Pinot Nero "Terre di Giotto". A brillant cicchetti bar. Definitely a place we come back to next time in Venice.
