Tonight, the service was excellent, the food was good, but what ruined the experience was parking. We dined for 1.5 hours...not an unusually long dinner length in Uptown. Our parking tickets were "validated" by the restaurant, but when we attempted to leave, the validation machine rejected the "validated" ticket as insufficient. We pressed "help" and after three minutes of considerable, frustrating back-and-forth, we were told we still had a balance of ~$4.00. The whole process was confusing. We paid and left. Knowing there would be a $4.00 charge ahead of time would have been fine. After spending hundreds of dollars on dinner, the 4-5 minutes spent clarifying a measly fee ruined the experience. Visiting Dallas with my grandsons and celebrating my oldest grandson's 13th birthday. We decided to visit in Enoteca Italia. It was a delicious choice. I've had this place on my list to go to for a long time and I finally made it out to meet with a friend. Overall it was a really nice time, but it didn't start out that way. To begin, I would not recommend using their valet even though it is free, because they seem to only have one person working it so it takes forever for them to take your car. We had to wait for over 10 minutes for the valet guy to come back to his post, meanwhile I'm stopped in the middle of the street with car having to drive around me. It would have been much faster to just park in their garage which is also free for I think 2 hours once validated by the restaurant. The valet also didn't have a system for keeping track of the cars, no key tag, number to text, or anything, he just asked for my name and said he would remember me. That didn't seem like the safest process to me. Not to mention, when we picked our car up he just gave me the key to drive it off from the space myself instead. Valet aside, the restaurant was really nice inside and had good balance of not quite fine dining, but also not too casual, which is what I was looking for. They also decorated for the holidays and the red bows overhanging were a nice touch. As an Italian restaurant, they had plenty of pasta options however our entire table decided to go with the waitress recommended Pollo Parmesan. I think we all were interested in the fact that it contained both red and white sauce, so it allowed us to have the best of both worlds. I wasn't sure how it would mix well at first, but it ending up complementing each other nicely. Lastly, the ladies also appreciate that they provided a bag hanger for their purses. I would like to come back to try their other dishes, I just won't waste time using valet again. read more

First Visit - July 19 We discovered Enoteca Italia almost by accident and booked a 7:30 pm double date. I only managed one photo (the focaccia--don't skip it!), but every dish was incredible. Our server, Gino, was training a new team member and was fantastic--knowledgeable, attentive, and fun. We also met Gina, owner/manager who happily chatted with us about the menu and the restaurant. I witnessed a lot of delicious entrees going by! Second Visit - August 28 This time we did not make a reservation because we sometimes just get a craving for Italian and must have it. It was a great decision because the bar was pretty empty so we had it all to ourselves pretty much! We ran into Gina again and she introduced us to Chris, the bartender as we sat at the cozy horseshoe-shaped bar, which has a single tv, and a relaxed vibe. The food again came out fresh, hot and full flavor. My spaghetti pappardelle is now firmly in my Dallas Top 3--and is #1 now with those silky noodles and to me the color was perfect and the pasta was perfection! I finished it all and felt afterwards! My husband agreed it was every bit as good as the city's more famous Italian spots (yes, even Il Bracco!). It's really close but there's just something about this sauce and pasta and just melts in your mouth. Extras Parking is in the Centrum garage off Welborn Street; grab a ticket and the restaurant validates it. Whether it's a date night, a girls' night out, or a business dinner, this spot is perfect: intimate but not crowded, with a great little bar. Tried this restaurant out last night for a joint bday celebration! The food was delicious, but a little on the pricier side. Our server was super nice, and the staff were super attentive! My water was always topped off and never empty! The inside was lovely, I loved the decor and it was a super welcoming feeling as soon as you walk in. I got the mushroom ravioli which was one of their specials, I thought it was really good. The mushrooms added so much flavor to the ravioli and the truffle was the perfect amount. As soon as they brought the entree to the table the smell was amazing. (Keep in mind the plate of ravioli was $39) Overall I really enjoyed my visit, the staff also wrote a personal card for our birthdays which made us feel so special! The food was pretty good but the halibut special (at market price) was dry. Bummer. The service was horrible. Carlos left my date and I sitting two different times for over 30 minutes each time. I'm sorry but that's unacceptable. He was either out of site or serving other tables and COMPLETELY ignored our table. All he seemed to care about was to push us to order the most expensive items on the menu. Our tab was over two hundred dollars with tip and my date only had one glass of wine. My braised short ribs were good. The ambience was really nice except for the noise level. They had a DJ playing music pretty loud and I wish it would have been a little quieter so my date and I could talk at a normal level but it's ok. Overall, Carlos ruined our experience and we won't go back. You don't leave a table sitting there that long under any circumstances. Especially when you checked on the table up against ours to the left and didn't even look our way. I never complained to Carlos but he knew I wasn't happy about my tea being empty the entire time I was eating and even longer. He told me he complimented my tea for him being so delayed with his service. Thanks Carlos but next time I'll just pay you the $4 bucks and don't treat us like we don't matter. This is my opinion only but it seemed very clear you catered to the other tables that had 4 or more and ordering drinks. I've been on a mission to try every restaurant Uptown as I'm new to the area. When I saw reviews for Enoteca, I absolutely had to visit! I made reservations for Saturday night at 8:45. We arrived at about 8:30 and were immediately greeted by two lovely hostess. About 5 mins later, we were lead to our two top near the window. The restaurant is a beautiful. Dimly with flowers and greenery throughout. It's almost whimsical and perfect for a romantic evening and just cozy dinner for a singles or your group. Shortly after we were seated, our waitress arrived who was also very friendly and personable. We were offered tap, distilled or sparkling water. We opted for sparkling, a glass of white wine (Terra Gauda O Rosal) and a Whiskey Sour. The Terra was refreshing and easy on the palette. And although the Whiskey Sour was not made with an egg white, it was well balanced and delicious. Now, the food was without a doubt the star of the show. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, sausage rigatoni, zucchini "fries" and Brussels sprouts. Everything was fresh, flavorful and perfectly portioned! Midway through the meal, the manager came by to make sure we were enjoying our meal; and we definitely were! And of course, we couldn't leave without trying dessert. We just left about an hour ago. Today being Valentine's Day made it so we werent able to do a walk-in due to not having a reservation and it being completely booked.. HOWEVER, the staff here decided to clear out the large table in the entrance lobby to sit us there. They did not have to do this, and it was only a sneak peak to how their service would be tonight. The whole time their customer service was 10/10. Polite, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and quick. What more could you ask for. The food....oh my goodness. Not one thing was disappointing. The focaccia, crab cakes, seafood pasta, bolognese, and large rigatoni was amazing. And that dessert!!! I don't know if it was just the night that we went, but we had horrible service and probably will not come back. We were seated promptly, which seemed promising, but then the server came and his first question was if we wanted quick service or to take it slow. That was the most odd request that I've ever had by my server. Now I had to be somewhere, but didn't want to rush, so we told the server that we just wanted a normal speed. Next, the menu seemed very promising, so I asked the server about gin cocktails, and he said there were some, but we weren't given the special menu which had more, so he said he would be right back and went to go get it. After a significant amount of time, he went on to go serve other tables and bring out all of their food before coming back without any specials menu, but asked if we were ready to order. At this time, it had already been a wait that we just wanted to order, so we put the order in without seeing the specials. Later on, our food came, which was pretty good. The polenta with ragu was delicious and the Caesar salad has a great char on the lettuce that added a different flavor that I usually don't get with salad, which I loved. The problem came next when another table was seated next to us. Their server sat the guests down and proceeded to give them a lovely spiel on all the specials one by one with plenty of detail and there were so many items that she described that I wanted to try, like the squid ink pasta. Our server never told us any of this stuff and we ordered based off the options that we were presented. I was pretty annoyed about this, but I decided to just let it go because complaining would have caused further delay in our already long service. Our server apologized multiple times about the wait, but you can only apologize so much, especially when we saw other tables having such better service and we were singled out since we were just a party of two and not a priority to our server.
