i had a beautiful time at carbone. the service was great and fast. we were introduced to many of the wait staff and it gave us a family feeling. the complimentary bread service was so good. i adored the focaccia. the highlights of the night for me were the caesar salad croutons (they genuinely melt in your mouth and so so buttery), and the spicy rigatoni vodka pasta! the pasta completely changed my life- if there's anything that brings you to carbone, please do yourself a favor and order it! also, not pictured- but the ice cream at carbone is truly none like no other!! it was the most caramel-esche ice cream that was blended so so well and smooth. i wish i could get a togo pint of it!

My boyfriend brought me here for a surprise birthday dinner, and I was so excited! The interior is absolutely gorgeous. Such a nice romantic ambiance and it's so well decorated. The service was incredible. Always had someone checking on us and making sure we were okay. They gave us the drink and wine menu, which is quite extensive. A sommelier came by and offered his services if we were wanting help choosing a wine, which I thought was a nice touch. Some delicous complimentary bread, pickled cauliflower and Italian meats were brought out. I've never seen a restaurant bring out this much complimentary food. It was all so delicious! There were 3 different types of bread- tomato sauce on focaccia, a garlic bread and plain piece of bread. They were all amazing. The pickled cauliflower had a delicious flavor to it as well. A waiter came by with some aged Parmesan cheese and was serving that as well. We put in our entire order at once and our waiter spaced it all out. For starters we got calamari and the table side Caesar salad and then our entrees were the spiced vodka rigatoni and the chicken massimo. I enjoyed watching them make the Caesar salad table side. The salad either didn't have enough dressing or it wasn't mixed properly, because some parts felt a bit dry. The croutons were really good, and I did enjoy everything together. I throughly enjoyed the spicy rigatoni. I've gotten the jar carbone sauce from the grocery store and it's not as good as in the restaurant. It was so creamy and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I do wish they had freshly grated Parmesan on top. They brought a lovely dessert cart and I chose a chocolate hazelnut cake with vanilla bean gelato. Unfortunately, they don't comp birthday treats and we weren't told the prices of the desserts, so the cake was $25. Total price of our meal came out to $243. They charge for water as well, which I thought was odd. They first came around with a new bottle of water and poured it in our glasses and then they just kept refilling it from a normal metal pitcher. On the bill they charged us $18 for 2 bottles of water, which is I suppose how much they estimated they used. That wasn't stated before to us, which would've been nice to know. Overall it was a nice spot to try and I would return again for a nice dinner.

My boyfriend and I came to Carbone for a special date night and enjoyed our time. We were seated towards the back at a normal table, which was a little less intimate than the booths or side tables. Our server constantly refilled our glasses and checked on our which was great. We did feel like we had a luxe dining experience overall and really enjoyed the free bread and cheese to start. I loved the spicy vodka pasta. It had a nice kick and wasn't super dense while also being a shareable size. The tortellini was my boyfriend's favorite. The gravy sauce it came in was delicious. The Caesar salad they make at your table is delicious and I loved watching it being made though I'm not sure it's worth the price. We both loved our drinks, I especially loved the aperol spritz as it was light and delicious. We didn't like the Mai tai we ordered (not shown) because it was really strong but we also prefer fruity and light cocktails. It was a nice classy date night restaurant and we got lots of pics. I think it would've been a better experience if we had a more intimate table.

Not sure why the average rating for this place is so low. We came in with high expectations and had a wonderful experience. From the service, to the environment, and of course the star of the show, the food, everything was exceptional. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the entire menu, providing appropriate suggestions about what to order. The aperetivos were delicious and a perfect way to start the meal. Grandma's bread is a must. Of course, the viral spicy rigatoni lived up to the hype, but I did find myself reaching some palette fatigue towards the end of the meal. Overall, the experience plus the quality of the food is exceptional. A must visit for special occassions.

A pretty good spot for some Italian. They provide some really amazing complimentary bread, parm, salami, and cauliflower. Carbone is known for the spicy rigatoni which is good, but I think the lobster ravioli was better. Overall, really good service, but I think you can get better (and cheaper) Italian other places in Dallas. They have matchbooks if you're a collector!

We had really high hopes for Carbone in downtown Dallas--mostly because Drake is such a big fan of the place. And if there's one thing everybody knows about Drake...it's that he has impeccable taste in Italian food. (Kidding.) Walking in, the vibe is cool. Not traditional Italian, but definitely upscale. I can see why people pick it for a date night. The service was truly top-notch. They have a whole team of servers and support staff making sure your glasses stay full, plates get cleared immediately, and the table is always clean. That part felt very polished and professional. Unfortunately, that's where the "wow" factor ended. The food didn't match the ambiance--or the price. Everything is served family-style, so we all picked dishes together. We already knew we had to try two Carbone staples: the calamari and the spicy rigatoni vodka. Except...they didn't have calamari. Not sold out--just didn't have it that night. And we were one of the first tables of the evening. "Disappointed" is putting it lightly. So instead, we got the off-menu Hamachi appetizer (pretty good) and the prosciutto with mozzarella. The prosciutto was salty and delicious, but the mozzarella was surprisingly bland. Definitely not memorable. For mains, we ordered the spicy rigatoni vodka, which was good...but just good. Not mind-blowing or worth the hype. The lobster ravioli was decent too, but again nothing special. Our protein was the Steak Diana, and while the steak itself was cooked well, the sauce didn't land for most of us--luckily it was served on the side. One person at the table liked it, so maybe it's just a preference thing. We also ordered the squash as a side, and it felt plain and under-seasoned. I hate to nitpick, but at these prices, you expect a little more than "just okay." For dessert, the tiramisu was actually fantastic--the ladyfingers were spot on. The carrot cake was also enjoyed by the table, though I'm not really a carrot cake guy. Overall, we probably won't be back. The service and ambiance were excellent, and our server really knew the menu. But the food just didn't deliver for us. In a city with some amazing Italian options, especially at this price point, we'll likely head somewhere else next time.

Carbone 3.5/5 Spicy Rigatoni definitely was the star. Chicken Massala was lackluster, not worth its price. One of the best calamari appetizers ive had to date. Great complimentary breads Great service, but as expected from an establishment that provides a "luxury experience." Valet parking available, although lots of spaces in the design district to self park. All in all, while the food is good, I believe certain dishes are overpriced. Great interior, lots of seating, comfortable, although majority of restaurant is dimly lit. Great for a date night

Beautiful dining experience in the Dallas area! My bf booked our reservation a month out and he was super excited to see what Carbone was about. The restaurant is stunning and takes you to a different era as soon as you walk in. We came on a busy weekend and the restaurant was packed! Our server was very knowledgeable and recommended great dishes but of course we tried the Caesar Salad, Spicy Rigatoni and Ravioli. Our starter bread was fantastic and can be filling so pace yourself. Our salad was delicious and I loved the option of having the anchovies on the side or mixed in. The rigatoni lived up to the hype with its flavor and overall presentation. The ravioli wasn't my fav but it was surprisingly good to my bf. The margarita was good but the cinnamon stick could've been left out in my opinion. Overall, the service was great and the food was pretty good! If you can snag a reservation, I definitely recommend building up an appetite to enjoy a dish from each course. We just weren't that hungry but still enjoyed the experience!

I loved almost everything about carbone. The ambiance is transformative, the service is impeccable, and the free appetizers are delicious. However it had to lose one star just based on one food item, the ribeye. I'll start with the salad. The table side Caesar may not be worth the price but it's a large portion and is delicious so I would definitely order again. Then the famous spicy vodka pasta was divine and absolutely loved up to the hype. However the ribeye Diane left much to be desired. The sauce it is bathed in is good not great while the sear on the steak and the seasoning on it was not present. Overall it was a solid steak but for $97 I would absolutely not recommend. That being said I still will absolutely be coming back to carbone to try more of the pastas and to try some of the seafood options!

Carbone was an amazing experience, and I would highly recommend everyone trying it out! It was an amazing vibe where it was casual but classy, and at the same time really high end service. Drinks were amazing and reasonably priced as well!

Really enjoyed our visit to Carbone. Spicy rigatoni was definitely good but we've had better vodka pastas at other restaurants. The lemon cheesecake was the star of the show for us, it was delicious. I'd come back to try other menu items in the future! Server was very nice and the vibes in the restaurant were lively.

I really enjoyed my dinner here! Wasn't difficult to get a reservation. It was very spacious inside with lots of unique table settings and ambiences. I was sat in a more traditional dining area. I had a great server! I really enjoyed the complimentary bread basket and the meats and pickled cauliflower that came with it! For my entree, I went with the infamous vodka pasta and I see why it's so popular. It was creamy, had a slight kick, and was a pretty decent portion. I will be back just for the bread and pasta!

    Spicy Rigatoni and Tortellini

My husband and I love coming here!!! The service is always amazing and the food and drinks are incredible. Plus the experience and vibe feels special! We have tried some of the newer restaurants in this area and they are more expensive with less quality food and smaller portions. Carbone is a consistent classic and we are always satisfied ! plus the welcome bread and hors d'oeuvres are such a great touch. Some of our favs are: Caesar salad, veal parm, spicy rigatoni, and tortellini

Brought out cake for pictures as they wanted to charge $15 slice of our own cake?!!

The food here is a 10/10 and I'll be telling everyone to come here for some great Italian food. The restaurant itself is charming. The booths are huge and I loved all the photos and paintings on the walls. The Kingdom of Italy flag caught my eye too. Once the sun went down, the atmosphere really started to come alive. There are a few things I think Barsotti's could improve on. The bussers seemed a little underdressed for this type of restaurant, and some of their shirts were stained. We were also celebrating a birthday and specifically mentioned it in the reservation, so I was hoping for some acknowledgment. Our waiter was very nice and respectful, but I would have liked a little more interaction and explanation of the menu. Overall, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. I'll be coming back and would recommend Barsotti's to others.

Pretty good. Always drove past the place I wanted to try it out. I remember reading about the name…read morechange fiasco. Came for 6pm dinner rez with my husband. I have plenty of parking in the back. Ordered the chilled crab claw appetizer and the portion was very generous. The crab meat was a bit firmer and drier than I expected, though that may simply be due to it being served chilled. Overall, we enjoyed it. For entrees, we shared the casino linguine vongole (clam pasta)- they split this on 2 plates for us, and chicken parm vodka (forgot to take a photo). Both were very good! We couldn't finish the entrees and so we put them in to-go boxes. I feel like they tasted even better the next day, lol. Service was great!

It's hard to find Real carbonara out anymore. I don't know if it's the eggs in there that restaurants or people are worried about it but I don't have a problem with that at all. All that said, this was a great dish. Had the chicken carbonara with fettuccini and it could not have been done better. It was a special that night and I hope the put it on the menu permanently. Drinks were good as well. I'll be back. More often if carbonara gets on the menu :-)

Service was excellent on the evening we were there. We started with the mozzarella garlic bread, appetizer with spicy sausage. It's a huge portion enough for three people easily. Very good. Salads were nice and very fresh tasting. They certainly weren't bagged lettuce as you get in some restaurants these days. For entrées, the pasta Gianni was the big hit. Great flavor and you have your option on pasta and I chose penne. For dessert we had the special cheesecake which was amazing. Prices for wine, cocktails, and food are all very reasonable. We had a really nice time.

Salad recommendation? Perfect. Helped me land on the Gennarino? PERFECT. At some point I stopped making decisions because clearly this dude knew what I wanted better than I did. I'm just sitting there eating and drinking like, "Yeah, apparently you're in charge of my life now." And that Gennarino? Good lord. The whole meal was fantastic, but when the bartender nails every recommendation like that, it turns dinner into an experience. I'm 100% coming back. Hell, I'd consider buying a plane ticket to Dallas just to eat here again. Imagine explaining that expense: "Why did you fly to Dallas?" "Pizza." Understandable. No further questions.

I've been wanting to try Partenope for a while so I was excited when we finally made it last…read moreweekend. We called ahead of time as Resy was glitching and were told that we could just walk in and likely wouldn't wait long. Arrived the host was helping someone with a takeout order. We waited. And waited. She never even looked at us or said. "Hi...just give me a minute and I'll be right with you.." 2nd host came to the counter (more than 5 minutes passed as we watched them buzz around and still not say hello). She finally looked up and said, "2"? Then seated us almost silently. We waited another 10 mins for someone to welcome us, say hi, or bring water, then a waiter appeared with a rushed, "Are you ready to order?" Umm....how about drinks? Specials? Anything?? We wanted a beer and were told the taps were empty and the only bottled option was Shiner. Rough start all around. Honestly, we were tempted to leave. It was that uncomfortable. We didn't. For the food: 1. Chopped salad was good, though it's not chopped at all, just a tossed salad. 2. Gnocci was delicious 3. Pizza was very tasty but the crust was strangely soggy/chewy. Maybe that's the style, but I kind of expected a bit of a crunch to it. The flavor all around was great. Our waiter disappeared (I'm assuming his shift ended?) without warning or letting us know someone else would step in. If I had to sum it up, it was almost like we were invisible the whole time we were there. Service can make or break an experience--it broke it for us. I'd consider trying the Richardson location in the future, but I think it'll be a while.
