Went on a double date to urbano cafe. Had a wonderful time. I loved the addition of the cocktail bar next door. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived but were able to grab a cocktail, I got the sage gimlet and it was perfectly balanced [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is perfect for a date. Felt cozy and romantic, small bistro settings reminded me of LES restaurants in New York.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was great with recommendations. We started off with free toasted bread and butter which was delicious. the beef carpaccio was very good as well. The Caesar was standard. I was full by the time appetizers were over so shared the rigatoni with sausage that is brought from next-door at Jimmy's and it was very good. My friend got the risotto of the day and the steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare. Would definitely come again!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the swanky ambiance[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the rigatoni was very flavorful! Our server was also incredibly attentive.

What an amazing hidden gem! The food here was phenomenal. We also had oysters and the beef carpaccio with truffle. Everything was wonderfully flavored and fresh. Made with wholesome ingredients. & it's BYOB! This is one of those neighborhood spots where the locals know where to get great Italian. Add Urbano's to your next rotation, you will not regret it! The service was also amazing and everyone was so kind. You'll definitely feel like royalty.

We recently dined at Urbano Cafe, which was once a favorite of ours but we haven't been in several years and it changed hands in early 2024. I'm pleased to report that it was better than I remembered. First, Urbano Cafe is one of the very few places in Dallas that allows you to bring wine. I had picked a fantastic super Tuscan and placed it in the fridge to chill it a bit and of course, I left it there... Not to worry as Urbano has a great list with minimal markup and the sommelier, Kevin helped us pick a nice 2022 Rosso de Montalcino from Valdacava. We started with a glass of sparkling rose while the red opened up. Our starter was a chopped salad in a very light Italian dressing, followed by cioppino with clams, mussels and shrimp in a wonderful tomato broth. These two dishes turned out to be our favorites. The pasta course was orecchiette primavera, which was a little heavy on the pesto but still quite nice. This was followed by the veal Marsala, which was very good and had a touch of sweetness. Service was attentive and they had renovated the decor, a great improvement from the prior (although I did love the Nola pics on the walls in the back room.) It was a lovely evening and we won't wait so long to revisit. Maybe next time I will remember to bring the wine!

We had previously come to their bar, Sylvestro, and were so impressed that we wanted to come to Urbano. We were blown away by our experience here and plan on coming back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is perfect for date night as it is nice, dark, and moody.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers here/at Sylvestro have easily been some of the nicest ones in the DFW area. They are kind and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. I started off with the bergamot martini which was one of the more unique and tastier cocktails I have had in a while. We then started with delicious focaccia bread and a shrimp cocktail. Both were excellent with no cons or notes to improve. We then got the baked mezzi rigatoni which was excellent. Pasta was cooked well and I really enjoyed the sauce that was in it. We then finished with the redfish which also was great and came with a delicious puree base. I was so impressed by Urbano and we will certainly come back here.

We had a fantastic experience at Urbano for Valentine's Day. The food was great, and our server Johnny was amazing. Very affable and helpful. Here's what we got: App: - Cioppino: Fantastique! Entrees: - Lobster risotto: undeniable best lobster risotto I've had in my life! The risotto was cooked perfectly and paired exceptionally well with the lobster. There was even a citrusy taste to the meal that was simply *chef's kiss*. At the time of the review, this wasn't part of the regular menu. It was on the Valentine's Day menu. Hopefully this item makes it to their permanent menu as well! - DUCK & PEPPERS Agradolce: the duck was prepared well and actually tasted akin to a good piece of steak! Which was interesting because duck usually tastes closer to chicken Sides: - GNOCCHI ALLA "MAC & CHEESE": If you don't like really cheesy stuff, I wouldn't recommend. My wife enjoyed this and it was also highly recommended by our server - BROCCOLI RABE & GARLIC: meh. Would try something else. Dessert: - Tiramisu: Would not recommend. The risotto was the best I'd ever had, but this tiramisu definitely wasn't. The coffee flavor was far too potent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was quaint and very much what you'd consider a hidden gem. The atmosphere, along with the risotto and our server made this a splendid experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had it not been for the sides and dessert, this place would undoubtedly received 5 stars.

This might be my new favorite restaurant in Dallas! The vibe inside is so cozy and intimate. The service was incredible! I went with 5 other people and every single one of us enjoyed what we ordered. The free focaccia was such a nice touch! We will absolutely be back and can't wait to try more of the dishes. The bar connected to it is also super vibey and cute.

The food here was absolutely wonderful. We ordered the red fish and the lemon pasta with rock shrimp. 10/10 recommend this intimate space.

I've been meaning to have dinner here and heard great things--it's all true! Wish I would have come sooner. Loved the intimate setting and the food was fresh and delicious! The BYOB/Wine really makes for a smooth experience. Highly recommended

We started with the focaccia bread (5/5). Wow--this might be some of the best bread I've ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the dip was delicious. I usually try not to fill up on bread before the entrées arrive, but we made sure to finish every bite. We also ordered the burrata salad (5/5), which was a very generous portion and absolutely delicious. I would definitely order it again. For our entrées, my friend and I shared the chicken piccata and the bolognese. The chicken piccata was a 5/5 for me, while the bolognese was a 4.5/5. Both dishes were excellent and I'd happily order either again. This visit was a completely different experience from my first one, and I'm glad I came back. I'd love to return with my husband sometime.

The restaurant was very busy, the acoustics made it had to have a conversation and hear each other. Food was wonderful, I had the chicken Parmesan on recommendation from our server and it was phenomenal. Others in our party enjoyed their food as well.

Pretty good. Always drove past the place I wanted to try it out. I remember reading about the name…read morechange fiasco. Came for 6pm dinner rez with my husband. I have plenty of parking in the back. Ordered the chilled crab claw appetizer and the portion was very generous. The crab meat was a bit firmer and drier than I expected, though that may simply be due to it being served chilled. Overall, we enjoyed it. For entrees, we shared the casino linguine vongole (clam pasta)- they split this on 2 plates for us, and chicken parm vodka (forgot to take a photo). Both were very good! We couldn't finish the entrees and so we put them in to-go boxes. I feel like they tasted even better the next day, lol. Service was great!

Wow. Worst service ever. Our waiter "greeted" our table with "shall I get you a bottle and five…read moreglasses?" Presumably meaning wine, but we were considering cocktails and a bit confused by the question. He said "I'll come back when you're ready," and disappeared for the first of many long absences. From the beginning it felt like we were ruining his life. He was cheerless and curt and wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. It would be more understandable if the restaurant was super busy or understaffed. But this was Monday at 6 pm. We listed a birthday on the reservation, but it wasn't acknowledged. Why bother to ask if we are celebrating? We waited for empty plates and glasses to be cleared between courses. We waited a long time for him to return so we could order a second glass of wine. Even longer for the plates to be cleared and longer still for the opportunity to order dessert...a piece of cake for the birthday girl and two after dinner drinks...but the drinks weren't picked up from the bar when the cake was delivered, and only remembered when we asked for the check. We watched him pick them up (well after the cake was consumed) on his way to leave the bill. No mention that they had been overlooked, no thank you, no good night. This was our first time at Barsotti's and it will be our last. Aside from the awful service, we had issues with the food as well. The veal was pounded paper thin and fried hard resulting in a tough, chewy texture similar to dried beef or jerky. It was dry and overcooked on two different dishes. On a more positive note, we enjoyed the fried ravioli appetizer and the redfish was fine. While our waiter was largely MIA and unpleasant when he did show up, the bus boy/assistant was gracious and attentive. Maybe he was trying to compensate for his colleague. BTW, the offensive employee was in his late 40s to mid 50s with a slight build and salt and pepper hair.
