I needed a rental and booked a car online. Because this branch gets BUSY and I was booking over the July 4th holiday, I went over early to make sure I beat what turned out to be a rush of customers. If I had waited, I figured they would be out of cars!! Got a comfortable Camry for my trip to Lubbock. Clean car, full tank of gas, professional, helpful staff. Great experience. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. My partner and ai had to rent a car last minute due to getting stranded with transmission problems. A woman named Olivia helped us and I can recall few times in my life when I have received such stellar customer service. She was so incredibly kind, efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. I could tell she genuinely gives a damn about people. And then I learned she is brand new to her position. That was very surprising, given her demeanor, presence, and ability. So far so good. I was needing to renew my contract because the 30 days was up and I was nowhere near the Austin location where I rented it. When I talked to them they said I could go to any location in Amarillo to renew the contract. Someone just had to be able to look the car over to make sure there was no damage and how the oil was doing, Etc. I chose this location because it had slightly better reviews than the other one. I could have sworn I had seen more than two Enterprise car rental locations (not counting the airport which was over 9 miles away) as I was driving around town but when I looked on Yelp these were the only two listed. The guy who helped me was the manager, Andrew, and he couldn't have been more helpful. He worked with me to get a contract that worked for both of us which I greatly appreciated. read more

Of course, I didn't look at my pick-up receipt when I left in the car. The agent pointed out that I was leaving with 1/2 a tank of gas, but put on the pick-up receipt that I left with a full tank. Before I returned the car I filled the gas to a bit over 1/2 a tank. The next day I looked at the check-in receipt, and saw that I had been charged to fill the car up. I called the local number, and to my surprise, the agent, named Mike, checked the record of the prior rental and saw that, indeed, I had left the lot with a half tank of gas. GOOD JOB. **Update**November 22, 2017--Michael, the manager, called me directly to address my concerns. He was very apologetic and told me this shouldn't have happened. He said if I wanted to try their store again, he would make it right. So we rented a van for Thanksgiving to travel to my family. He gave us a great rate and everything was amazing. Kudos to Michael for caring enough to make this right and salvaging my opinion of Enterprise. My body shop set me up with this store while they were working on my car. When I got there, they had one crappy vehicle left, with disgusting stained seats. I guess they had just tried to scrub the spots because when I got to work, my rear was wet (thanks for that). So they called the next evening and asked if I was happy. I told them no, that the car was stained and gross. They said I could trade the car for a better one the next day. When I showed up the next day to do that, I look around and like 3 of the employees are circled around the car. When I asked what was going on, they pointed out a hole in the bumper of the car and claimed I had done it, even though it was easy to tell it was old damage. I had driven the car to work and to pick up my kid from school twice. That's it. From the picture you can see the old bug splats from driving on the open road, which I didn't do. The rest of the car is clean, so you can easily tell it wasn't something I had done. They didn't care. Long story short, I'm having to get this crappy car that I didn't want fixed. We were coming back home from Albuquerque to Fort Worth. My transmission dies 20 miles west of Amarillo. My vehicle is towed to the repair facility, but I needed a way home to Fort Worth for the next two or three days while the car was being repaired. I called Enterprise for the rental and they immediately sent a car to pick me up. Lauren helped me at the counter. She graciously upgraded the vehicle. I am grateful as we had a ton of stuff in my car. From the time my vehicle broke down, to the towing, to picking up the car at Enterprise, reloading the car and getting on the road was only three hours. I'm very grateful. read more

I've rented from Enterprise a dozen times over the past year, most recently was the second time from this location, and the associate/manager there "Michael" left such a bad in my mouth that I will never rent from Enterprise again. He was pompous, rude, lazy, and ridiculously self-concerned. I reserved an economy car, but wanted to upgrade to a Nissan Altima. I asked him the price difference from an economy to the mid-size. He argued with me relentlessly that the Altima was a full size, not a mid size, and that it would come out to $50/day (June 2015). Once we got inside, and he pulled it up on the computer, he never told me which class it was considered, but the total came out to a little over $30 a day. So as I go to drive away, I notice a cigarette burn that went unaccounted for on the contract. I go inside and tell Michael of the burn, and he acts like its no big deal, and refused to adjust the contract indicating the burn. Instead, he just wrote it on my copy. I could have wrote that in myself anytime before returning the car. So I drive away again, and my girlfriend notices a brake light is out. I'm then told to take the car someplace and have it fixed, save the receipt, and I'll be reimbursed. Reimbursed for the cost, not for my time wasted on such!!! Not even the cost of my upgrade (which I graciously requested, and was denied). Then, upon returning the car, I stopped at the gas station next to the location and put the amount in it which the contract showed it had when we started. And wouldn't you know Michael charged me for two gallons of gas. The rest of what I want to say is nothing more than a rant of profanity inappropriate for a public forum. My husband and I rented a car from Enterprise. They will tell you anything to get you to rent. And then lie about it. We where told that if we brought the car back a day early we would get our deposit back. So we brought it back on Sunday. Then we where told that Sunday's don't count because they are closed. But that wasn't what we where told in the beginning of the agreement. So they lied to us. Also we didn't put enough gas back in the car. That also wasn't in the agreement. It was a half a tank not a three- fourths of a tank. So they kept our deposit of $100.00. We will never rent from them agan. read more

The entire parking lot was empty and I parked my car in a spot and they told me I had to park my car somewhere on the street because those spots were for their employees personal cars. There were no spots close to the branch on the street. I've never had another enterprise tell me this. I never use this location and I never will. read more

I have recently been having issues getting issues making a reservation at most of the locations in Amarillo unless advance reservations have been made. Often we do not know until the current day that a rental car is needed. The State of Texas has a contract and gives LOTS of business to Enterprise so it looks like some provisions could be made for this. read more

I would give it zero stars if it would let me. I cannot tell you how horrible I was made to feel at this location. I will not mention the man's name as I have expressed my concerns about this individual with Enterprise. However, here is my story...DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS LOCATION! I arrived with a confirmed reservation to the Amarillo Airport today and was told there were not cars. I was sent by Enterprise Customer Service to the Midtown location (the location I am reviewing), I Ubered to the location with cost me $25 from the airport. When I arrived I handed the agent my ID and credit card and gave him my name. He explained that they had no cars. I immediately responded, "Are you kidding me? I just go off the phone with your customer service department as there were no cars at the airport and they said you had a car." His response was "Do you want me to magically make a care appear?" I replied, "What did you just say?" I cannot believe that after what this company had already put me through that he would treat me with such disrespect. I have been a loyal Enterprise customer for many years but to be honest....I am done! You should be too! read more

If you have other options then go with them and don't come here. If you have to come here, make sure you make reservations ahead. I called to see if they had any economy cars available and they said no but they have compact cars for $20. I said perfect and asked them to pick me up. They arrived 20 mins later and took me to the shop. There, they said they didn't have any compact cars. The smallest car the have left is the mid size corolla that's been beat up and dirty for $50/day. We had no other choice and felt bad if we ask them to drive us back. The worst part is the guy Sam who talked to me on the phone was sitting at his desk but refused to help probably because he lied or made a mistake by telling us they had smaller cars. Beside the people who picked us up and dropped us off, no one else work there seem to have social skills. They probably know they are horrible at their jobs for not asking any customers if they were happy or satisfied with the services...As the matter of fact, if you don't ask them questions, they don't say anything especially the tall guy in transitional lense glasses. I have always rented from Enterprise and have had great experiences. This time however we did not. We rented a Jeep Compass and the tire was low and they put air in it. We kept having trouble with the tire. The trunk area was full of dog hair, we put trash bags over it. On the way home the Jeep started losing electrical power and would only go between 40 & 50 mph. When I returned the vehicle, I informed the salesman and he said "Yeah, those models do not go fast to begin with". Unbelievable! Not even an apology for renting us a horrible vehicle, if they knew it was having problems why rent it? Speed limit in most of Texas is 75 and Oklahoma 70. read more

My car was getting fixed and got a rental from this location and needed to extend 1 day because my car was not yet ready and this moron calls me up demanding I pay 200$ or turn the car in that day. So I had my vehicle backed up into outside of my house in mid December. I took our vehicle in to Harvey's Collision, which is a few blocks from this location. They couldn't get our vehicle in until Dec. 19th, and we were told we would have our vehicle back by the 23rd. That's a whole other story for another day, but it ties in. The insurance covering my vehicle also covered a rental through enterprise. Everything seemed great until I went to drop off the rental on the afternoon of Wednesday Dec. 28th. I was told since the repair place took longer than expected they needed to wait for the insurance to extend the dates before they could return my deposit. Ok, perfect, I understand. Fast forward to today, January 3rd. I called Enterprise to inquire about the status since I had not heard anything. The gentleman on the phone says, ok well it looks like you'll have to pay an additional $180, for the extra coverage you purchased. I was then dumbfounded because I did not purchase any extra coverage. When I was walked out to the vehicle right before leaving the woman had her clipboard and walked me around the car, then mentioned a waiver that would eliminate my insurance be liable for an accident if I drove off the parking lot and got into an accident. She says it would only cost me $24.99 a day if I were to get into an accident. She very clearly said "If you get in an accident, you pay $24.99 per the amount of days you had the vehicle at the time of the accident." There was no mention of the fact that I am purchasing a coverage to be paid regardless of whether an accident occurs or not. I have $250 deductible on my insurance, why on earth would I pay another $230 for an additional coverage. The gentleman was very nice but not understanding of the fact that I was very misinformed and their staff needs some serious retraining on how to describe such things. He suggested we could meet in the middle on the charges. I told him I wasn't paying a dime and he could contact me when I would be getting my deposit back. Doesn't really seem like they know what's going on around there. The girl didn't word her sales pitch very well, which resulted in her being very deceptive. The woman I returned the car to made no mention of additional charges, and told me I would get my deposit when the insurance extended. The gentleman on the phone says he would ask her how she worded it, to me that seems like it's happened before or he is aware it can be deceptive if not worded properly. All in all not happy. Will update as I hear from them. Update: I had a voicemail from Andrew, who is the new manager at this location. He explained there may have been some wording that can be misleading, and they will he doing a re-train on this with their staff. It was handled appropriately and I'm glad they will be rectifying the situation so it doesn't happen again. read more

One week before my trip I made a reservation . I get there 30 minutes after my check in time. There was a gentleman I will not mention any names that was rude to me . He rudely tells me that I needed my paycheck stub and a bill. So I went home to get them. When I come back I was helped by a young lady who was very sweet and polite we went through the process of the Rent-A-Car. I gave her all my documents my car insurance and everything I needed. They did not have a car available for me. They tried to put me in a smaller car than I requested. I told them I did not want that car because it would not fit me and my family. About 1 1/2 later they finally had a car come in that I requested. The sweet young lady that helped me wasnt there. So the rude guy and I went outside to do the walk around. He told me I needed to sign so I did. THEN....he said was being very very agressive about me getting enterprises insurance. I told him no . Im fully covered on mines. Then he kept going on and on about if I wreck the car I will be liable blah blah blah. FINALLY I get pissed off and I told him to cancel and refund my money. I go to the manager and tell him what went on. His response was he was in the military and thats just the way he is..Wow...will i never rent a car from enterprise again.
