They carried shirts, shot glasses, post cards, photos, and many other souvenirs all themed with the Cadillac Ranch. They even carried cans of spray paint to use at the Ranch. The woman at the register was very friendly and welcoming surrounded by plexiglass. She told me and the other guests if we liked their page on Facebook they would give us a free sticker! Of course I got my sticker! Next time I visit the Cadillac Ranch I'll be stopping here to pick up some souvenirs.

Besides the outdated aesthetics my complaints were... there was a fly in our room, there was a dead bug in the fridge, and the floors felt like they were dirty with some residue on them. Also, the shower had a small spot of dirt/mold in the grout. What they did right ..... the pool was nice and refreshing on this hot summer day, the staff was courteous and helpful. Probably won't be back anytime soon, but it was $50 less than other places I was looking at and the area seemed safe, and it worked for what we needed it for (single night in Amarillo).

The management was friendly and assured me that all were welcome and speaking Latin was not a requirement. The sites are flat, with new water, electrical, and sewer hook-ups. This is a great place for a stop-over. There are no common bathroom or shower facilities but you can't beat the price. Since I didn't get a confirmation email, I called them this morning to make sure my reservation went though. They said it did, and there would be a room for me when I got there. The interaction today went something like this- Me: Hi, I have a reservation Manager: I hope it's for a double or a sleeper, cuz it's all we have available. Me: Oh, I don't remember, but I made the reservation a few days ago. Manager: You wanted a single, we don't have any left. Me: ... ... Me: So what's my next step? Manager: Well, I can put you on a waiting list or you can upgrade your room for $50 (per week). Me: Oh, sure... When can we expect to hear from you? Manager: No earlier than Monday (note- today is saturday) Me: Can I talk to someone about this? I did make a reservation. Manager: You can call at 9am on Monday and talk to the other manager. At about that time we left, went to the car and called corporate. I told them the story, and they didn't seem to care much. They said they'd call the manager and give me a call back if anything becomes available. In their parking lot we got wifi from somewhere and reserved a room at one of the other MANY hotels in the area.

Allie, who was awesome, offered to show us the room ahead of time and gave us full disclosure about a large work crew occupying much of the hotel. (We barely heard anyone!). Although we stayed one night, it was great to see a fridge, stove and microwave! Only caution is that it's geared towards longer stays so does not include coffee service, breakfast, toiletries or a hair dryer. Not a big deal for us because we had what we needed and were up and out early.
