The rep was super nice and friendly. Asked about our flight and demonstrated an interest in helping us get on our way. The hick up was a not having the type of car that I reserved - we wanted a luxury sedan but she offered a small lux SUV. The contracting was super quick and we were off to our adventure within a few minutes. Way to go National thank you.

Also, I was told I would be getting a Jeep Wrangler due to the fact that I have a vehicle of the same size when I arrived they told me that I would be getting a small Mitsubishi hatchback, and that the Jeep Wrangler would be available soon due to the fact he was getting a oil change. I called back at 3:20 this afternoon and was told that the Jeep needed a tire. He was gonna call over there immediately and get back to me. My ride was late picking me up, so I got there at 12:15 pm The person at the desk, Matt who told me that he was the manager, said that he had no car for me because I was late. I asked why the car wasn't held until they at least called me to check with me to see if I was coming for the car? He said that they hold cars for about 30-45 minutes and that a customer with no reservation walked in at 12:05pm and got my car. He said that it not his job to call me. I asked if I could get one of the other cars on the lot and he said that they were all reserved. I asked what we could do at this point to resolve the problem and he said that there was nothing he could do. I told him that if he was really the manager, he was really bad at his job. I left and went on Priceline as soon as I left and looked up that location for the same day for a 2:00pm pickup and they had cars in every category available. (see the attached picture) Somehow, Matt could not find a car for me, but I was able to walk outside, get on my phone and book a car for that same location. I worked in the retail business as a district manager and regional manager for large companies for almost 40 years. So, you can believe me when I say that if this rude, lazy person is the face of your company, you have a problem.

At Rent A Wreck, we rented an economy car for 5 days and spent $95.78 after a military discount with no insurance through them because they don't offer it. -The only negative. Such an awesome, affordable deal!!! The cars from Rent A Wreck are no more then 5 years old, so you're most likely not renting a piece of junk! The car was clean and ran smooth!

I then get a call several hours later from the manager at that location telling me my card on file was to be charged $400 for a smoking fee. Now, I have NEVER smoked a day in my life and I did not authorize ant such charges. I called my claim rep at the insurance company and they took care of the bogus fees. I then see that this location charged my card in addition to payment received from my insurance for charges that should never have been incurred to begin with. $400 from and $250 they knocked it down to from my insurance. I called the location, as had been the entire experience, the clerk was rude and said the manager started the refund but it wasn't approved through corporate and they'd let me know when it was. NO. Then when I tell her that is unacceptable, and that I want a receipt for proof the refund was processed to my card because I could give less than half a damn what the internal process for refunds that are FRADULENT charges is, she hangs up on me and turns the answering machine on so now I am unable to get ahold of anyone. . For a 4 day rental they put $190 hold on our card, which is more than you'd pay in tolls driving down the entire east coast and back. During our trip, we passed through (1) toll, and now a month later the hood turned into a full $190 charge...they are claiming the charge is for the option to use their toll pass which is definitely not the option we were told. We called to dispute it and were told we'd have to go to the rental location to dispute it...which is absolute BS, we are in NC and not able to travel back. The extremely tan woman in neon behind the counter had attitude. She refused to let me use my work credit card because it didn't have MY name on it. She laughed and shot me a nasty look and said that it's absurd that I would expect her to allow me to because for all she knows I stole the credit card. Are you $@#&[!# serious?!?! Not only is that the rudest most unprofessional thing this older lady could say to me, but it was in front of a packed place! When we went out to go over the rental car before giving it to me behind schedule (which made me late for work) I asked if she had all of the scuffs and marks on the car documented beforehand. She shrugged it off and acted offended when I took pictures of them before leaving the lot. This lot is cram packed and tiny with narrow parking spaces and tow trucks just sitting around so its very hard to maneuver around. I was leaving my cadi there and she told me it was too close to the yellow line of the parking space so I had to move it... Once again, are you serious?!?! I backed my cadi up and pulled it back in an inch over because there was no more room or else I'd be too close to the other line. The car I got had hair in it, crumbs on the seat, and bleach stains on the seat. The stearing was loose and and hit bumps like I was riding in the back of a pick up truck going down a dirt road.
