My ride was late picking me up, so I got there at 12:15 pm The person at the desk, Matt who told me that he was the manager, said that he had no car for me because I was late. I asked why the car wasn't held until they at least called me to check with me to see if I was coming for the car? He said that they hold cars for about 30-45 minutes and that a customer with no reservation walked in at 12:05pm and got my car. He said that it not his job to call me. I asked if I could get one of the other cars on the lot and he said that they were all reserved. I asked what we could do at this point to resolve the problem and he said that there was nothing he could do. I told him that if he was really the manager, he was really bad at his job. I left and went on Priceline as soon as I left and looked up that location for the same day for a 2:00pm pickup and they had cars in every category available. (see the attached picture) Somehow, Matt could not find a car for me, but I was able to walk outside, get on my phone and book a car for that same location. I worked in the retail business as a district manager and regional manager for large companies for almost 40 years. So, you can believe me when I say that if this rude, lazy person is the face of your company, you have a problem.

Also, the website did not give me an electric car option for my trip, but when I called the helpful staff at the rental site, it turned-out that many such vehicles were available. Eventually got one, and took it all the way to DC, a one-way hire. It was however 3 years old and no charge cables were supplied; that was not a problem for using public charge points as they all had cables but a cable for charging at a home would have been useful.

If you are going to use your own insurance, be prepared to prove that you are covered. Bring paperwork. The owner is a stickler on this, which isn't unreasonable... I'm not surprised that many people think they're covered for things like loss-of-use when they in fact aren't. Second thing is that if you arrive at the airport on a red eye at 6 am (or in the late evening I imagine..), you are going to be waiting until normal business hours to get your car. My girlfriend and I discovered this the hard way . Again, not really something I can fault Xceed for, it's just the kind of thing you take for granted with the big agencies with an airport presence.
