Not necessarily any bad actors or experiences, and I wasn't charged for fuel after I filled it up and I understand state and local sales taxes. However, 14% of my overall credit card charge was due to fees: Concession Recovery Fee, Vehicle License Fee Recovery and Customer Facility Charge for a total of $623.34 in additional charges. What a ripoff for a Disabled Veteran and long-time customer of ERAC, that is just UNREASONABLE. Refusal of Confirmed Reservation: I arrived at the counter with a confirmed reservation, only to be turned away because the branch had run out of vehicles. I was told my only option was to return the next day to see if anything became available, leaving me stranded and completely disrupting my travel plans. Downgraded Vehicle Class: When I returned the following day, I was downgraded to a Compact car despite having reserved and paid for an Intermediate car. No compensation or rate adjustment was proactively offered for this downgrade. Safety Violation: The Compact car provided to me was unsafe. The front windshield had a large crack spanning halfway across the glass, which severely obstructed visibility and posed a major safety hazard. Being turned away with a guaranteed reservation is unacceptable. Being forced to drive a damaged, unsafe, and downgraded vehicle the next day is a massive failure in customer service and safety compliance. Booked a reservation for next year. Realized I couldn't pick a 4WD or AWD option so wanted to get into contact with THIS business, not the toll free number. First off the number on here is not accurate, it's a toll free number. Second, I spent over 40 mins on the phone with at least 5 different TOLL FREE agents trying to get a valid phone number to contact this place... Zero luck. Called at least 4 different contact numbers given to me. No luck. So basically, I booked an $800 reservation, can't contact the business and really, I have no idea if it even exists. Baffling. The customer service for enterprise is beyond terrible! I was hung up on. Chat ended since the agent couldn't solve the problem. Given false information. Told they'd contact the business then business would follow up and contact me. Never happened. The worst customer service ever. Nobody speaks fluent English either when you call the toll free number. I was sceptical because the last time that I rented from Enterprise (over 20 years ago), the experience was troubling, to say the least. But this time, the price was right, so I took a chance. Very pleasant experience, both in pick up and drop off. I got a brand new car with less than 500 miles on it. I am taking one star off because I was given a card with an email address in case I had any issues because they don't have a phone to take calls. No hassle! I arrived a bit earlier than my anticipated time and even still, my "mom van" was ready to rock and roll. Shawn was very professional and cordial. The vehicle I rented was pretty good looking and had lots of perks such as leather seats, dvd players, doors that close with the push of a button, and lots of neat compartments! Not bad for a mom van! I felt pretty cool in it in a nerdy sort of way. The only reason I give this 4 stars is that the car was a tad gross on the inside. I couldn't tell when I picked it up because it was night time, but in the day I could see there were coffee stains or other such stains and crumbs inside the compartments. The car still ran great but I was a bit grossed out to touch the compartments. Returning the vehicle was effortless! I recommend this place for car rental. BE WARNED: Management of particular this Enterprise location trying to make costumers responsible for damages which vehicle had before they rented it! Unfortunately me and my wife had terrible experience with those guys. First we didn't received the vehicle we've requested. We picked up the car in totally dark pick up area and nobody walked us through the damages presented on it. During returning the manager only took keys and gave us a receipt. In about a week we received a claim that we caused those damages which the car had before we picked it up. We provided pictures and videos which proof that all those scratches were before we took the car but nobody cared. They sent us a $900 bill... We traveling a lot always renting cars with Enterprise. Fucking and sucking Enterprise, Shame of Alaska!! We told this story to American people during our trip in Alaska, and they felt so sorry and shameful to us! We booked and pre-paid a rental car via agency Hotwire with an early-bird promotion a few months ago. And the day when we arrived Enterprise counter in the Anchorage airport, the man asked us if we are from China and it's our first time to come to Alaska, we answered we are from Taiwan and yes. Then after seeing our passports and international driving license, he refused to rent a car to us with a fucking awful reason that our international driving license has Chinese words on it and he can't read Chinese words, he needs a translation version!! It's fucking ridiculous! We told him our international driving license has English translation just behind every Chinese sentence, it's indeed translation version! But the man kept saying he can't read it, it's company's rule! Fuck! Now that you can understand English only, then please only do business to those who is from English-speaking country! We told him we just finished renting a car in Seattle then fly to Alaska, and we ever rent a car in Europe and Australia and other country with our international driving license only, it's all no problem.And do you know what he said, ha, he said,"Alaska is different from U.S. and other country!" So Funny! OK! If you have guts, please be independent from U.S. then to say Alaska is different!! And he introduced us to rent a car next to his counter Dollar(Thrifty as well). But we were eager to get our refund first, now that it's not our problem, we kept asking the man to call Hotwire to get refund for us! But he didn't help, just kept saying ruthlessly,"I have no idea, I don't know, I can't help you, it's not my job!" Ok, we said to him if Dollar(Thrifty) can rent to us with our international driving license, why he can't?! He said, every company's rule is different and why not to make this money if they could? I wish I could give zero stars. Dozens of people, all of them with reservations, had to wait up to an hour for the car they reserved to arrive. Front desk staff also seemed oblivious to the fact that the line of people was growing by the second. I got to the line and there were 3 people in front of me, and it actually took 40 minutes for me to reach the counter. That's when I was told it would be another 40 minutes for a car. By far the worst run and managed rental car desk I have ever seen, and I travel all over this country. Best thing is, I finally get my keys and go to get my car, there are at least 10 cars in spots in the lot. What is wrong with you people? You should be embarrassed. No one on Enterprise desk at 4pm. Only 1 staff member on Alamo desk taking approx 15 mins per person. Joke! Do not hire here if in a rush.

It's suffice to say I'm pretty pissed. I had to turn my car in to get repaired, so i made sure everything was in the clear from enterprise for the kind of vehicle I need (family of 7) and when I would need the rental. Everything seemed good to go. I call 10 minutes before going to the place to drop my car off, cool.. they said just call them when i get there. Dropped the car and called. No notes on my reservation needing a 7 seater, nor the date I needed it, and also no vehicles available...not even just a regular car. "Come back in the afternoon". I work nights, so this is already cutting into my sleep. So after calling my insurance and this being the only dang company that does directing billing, I'm stuck. The worst rental company I've ever used. The guy at the counter was rude and unhelpful, giving me a car that should be illegal to drive in the snow. Before I picked up a car, an man in a suit that straight up acted with the arrogance of Gaston proceeded to question me, stating that I had the wrong car despite the fact that Thing 1 at the counter described the car I was about to get in exactly. Thing 2 checked my contract then finally allowed me to enter. Leaving the airport with snow on the ground, the car scarily skid on the icy road. At each traffic light, the car barely managed to get moving, nearly spinning out. About 40 minutes later (driving to a location that should've taken 20), I arrived at my location. The issues didn't end there. The car could not drive up any hill. I'm not talking icy or steep hills like Matanuska Glacier and the like. I mean any slope with even a little snow; this included artic valley, Eklutna lake, a residential cul-de-sac, and even the parking lot of Moose's Tooth. Beware any tourists renting an intermediate vehicle intending to see any destination of interest. I almost got stuck on the hill to Eklutna lake alone and was unable to turn around. God bless my host who drove up to save me. When I called Enterprise, they claimed that the tires were all season. If they use these tires on all of their vehicles, we'll God speed to you. They had the traction of a bike tire, not nearly what a winter tire requires. What did they want me to do? Upgrade of course so that I could pay over 3x as much per day. Don't expect helpful customer service, new cars, or winter appropriate vehicles. Stay away. I'll continue to use Hertz. I thought I'd try Enterprise when the daily rate was so much less, but obviously there is a catch. I will never use Enterprise again. As a business traveler renting cars weekly, enterprise has lost a lot of business, and fortunately for the company, I'm not a quiet unhappy traveler; I am very happy to share my experiences with anyone interested in car rental advice. read more

Poor vehicle selection and the employee at the front desk was rude and short. She gave me an attitude when I tried to used my debit card, and she said "I can't take this." I then asked why she couldn't take my debit and she said I have to have copy of your flight itinerary and was completely impatient and rude as I tried to pull it up on my phone. Rented from enterprise for a week vacation. Everything was fine. We had a early morning flight and left the keys in the drop box at the rental car return because they are not staffed at 5am. About a week and a half later I get a call from Enterprise Damage Recovery Services. Its obvious they are running a ding and scratch scam. I try to be loyal to a specific company but, with Enterprise it can be a challenge. When the difference in cost is +40% more on their daily/weekly, it is difficult to book a vehicle with them. I'll take the less than average customer service to save some cash. My most recent rental was a further disappointment when my rental car started to shake going over 40 mph. I tried to trouble shoot the vehicle and driving it for several more miles and realized there was a problem with tire balance or steering. I appreciated the quick response to exchange the vehicle out with another but while the Agent/Mgr discussed the issue with his service tech in front of me, he stated that the previous customer had complained about the same problem! Why would you lease a vehicle again without checking on a previous renter's complaint? I expect more from Enterprise. read more

The customer service of this place is trash! I rented a car from here for my honeymoon for a week. On the last day after we refueled the gas our car's wheel locked due to weather and thus the car was not drivable if we wanted to stay safe. We immediately called enterprise and told them what happened and they informed us that a tow truck would take hours to reach us and we would miss our flight. We were told to call a taxi and give our taxi fare to the front desk to be reimbursed the fare. Upon getting to this enterprise we gave the receipt from the taxi to the front desk. They said they would immediately put the reimbursement into our account. Everything seemed perfect, they seemed to have everything under control but we were wrong. Perhaps a week once we went back come home I noticed there was an extra charge to my account from enterprise. I immediately called enterprise and asked about the charge. They said the charge was because we didn't refuel the car! Which was outrageous since that was the last thing we did before the car broke down! They said it was their mistake and would credit it back into our account. Mind you because I have an international account I was charged an extra $5 fee for them taking out money in our account. Enterprise did not care about this fee and ignored it. I also asked about the refunded taxi fare and they said they would send us a check. A month went by and no check came in the mail. I called enterprise back 3 different occasions speaking to Mitch, Shaq, Kaitlyn(twice) and other workers. They all said I would soon get our refund, but it never happened. I was given the number to their manager and upon calling him there was no answer I left 2 voice messages and never received a reply. My last attempt was to send him an email. I sent him a detailed email about my situation and never received a reply. Now it's 8 months later and I still have not been refunded my promised taxi fare. I have been charged by my bank for the false charges they made to my account. The service this enterprise has is ridiculous and I wouldn't advise anyone to rent a car from this place.
