Coast International Inn Anchorage…read more I hadn't stayed here in over a decade, back from my early Slope days, and returning felt like stepping into familiar territory. The place is old, sure, but it carries its years with a certain dignity call it character. My room was clean and respectable: two generous beds, unstained carpet, a sizeable bathroom, a proper desk and chair, refrigerator, television, and a grand window that made the room feel rather stately. And with the Christmas decorations giving the place a warm, homely charm, it felt downright welcoming. For the price and the short hop to the airport, I fail to see the complaints. It's good, honest lodging that does exactly what it promises.

I had booked…read morethis about a week in advance, having cancelled another reservation at a different hotel that I'd had a bad experience with, at the start of my trip. I didn't spend a ton of time here, as I had driven up from Seward and checked in around 8:30 PM, checking out at 10 am the next morning. Staff was nice, room was clean and comfortable and the proximity to the airport can't be beat. One challenge: The hallways and stairs are a maze and it's a slog to your room. There's an onsite restaurant where I was able to get a to-go breakfast sandwich before my flight. Enjoyed the lobby and fireplace seating in the morning to decompress before my trip home. I'd say a one or two night stay here is convenient and comfortable. Would reserve here again if I were passing through Anchorage.

What a nice place to stay for a few days! We were very impressed with the location around the float…read moreplane lake. All the employees here are super friendly! We had a really long drive on 5/15/2026, and checked in around 6 pm and Eurina L, was pleasant and friendly, and made us feel welcome! While I had booked my room through a third- party company, she found our reservation and was able to change us from a king bed to two double beds. That's great customer service. She even asked us what floor we would like to be on. I think she could see how tired we were from driving, so she gave us a nice room on the1st floor which was very convenient - since we knew we would be coming and going from our truck to our room. She made a great choice.. we were close to our vehicle so we didn't have to walk far to unpack our vehicle. Our room was cozy with a heater and an air conditioner. The beds were comfortable and there was great water pressure for the shower. Thank you to Eurina for making our evening welcoming and enjoyable. A second shout out to Boyd, at breakfast. Boyd was busy giving all the patrons their requests. I only saw him at breakfast and he was working hard but he was still friendly and helpful. He actually cared you could tell, that we got exactly what we needed for breakfast. The fruit was great and the hot meal was tasty. Thank you to both Eurina and Boyd for the hospitality. We appreciate you!!

Legitimately one of the worst value for money hotels I've ever stayed at and I've been in seedy…read morehotels in Cincinnati. For the price, this is an absolute steal- meaning the owners of this hotel are stealing your money if you stay here. 1. The smell in the hotel rotated from smoke from cigarettes to urine depending on the time of day 2. Our room had crusty stains behind the toilet, a non functioning window which is stuck in the open position (did I mention we are next to the airport so those 7am low flying aircraft make for a great alarm clock, there is no cleaning service unless you specifically ask for it, the room is mind bogglingly hot for it being in Alaska and the window AC units only seem to spit out lukewarm air. The pillows were decent though. 3. The hallways are, not a lie, straight out of the back rooms or the shining. A labyrinth of twists and turns on fifty year old carpet that hasn't been cleaned since Reagan was in office awaits you on your stay. Just try to get a room near the elevator to save yourself ten minutes of walking the hallways and experiencing the smell that lingers from each fiber if the carpet. Do not stay here.

After a 5.5 hour flight we were looking forward to a nice shower and comfortable bed. But upon arriving to the Barratt Inn we were welcomed by a broken elevator, half-made beds with burn holes on the sheets from cigarettes, dirty pillows, bed bugs around the mattress seams and a strong scent of cigarette smoke permeating the room. To top it off the smoke detector in the room was taped shut with a plastic bag...probably to not set it off while smoking. Immediately we walked down to the front desk to ask for a refund but were told it wasn't possible. After some back and forth the less-than-pleasant front desk clerk refunded us for one night but we had to eat the rest. We would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. If I could I would rate it a negative star. This place was bustling with underground activities.

We had only a few interactions with the people who worked there but the desk was always manned, and the clerks were kind and helpful. The food service people (preparing and putting our breakfast) were nice, and I kind of enjoyed hearing their Polynesian music back in the kitchen. Someone back there was singing along, and it made me happy. ;) There was snow but the parking lot was well-plowed and parking was always available. The one way streets in the area make driving to nearby stores and restaurants kind of a chore (more difficult than in many other areas) but there's nothing the hotel can do about that! It's not a super fancy hotel but it was nice enough and welcoming enough for our needs.

Twice in my two-day stay, I went to the front desk for assistance only to see a sign saying there was no one available for a bit. That's the simple version. Other times that I did receive service, it was very slow. Lastly, although the rooms are nice, the amount of outside noise that makes it's way through your room is crazy. It's just a constant symphony of kids running the halls, maids opening/closing doors for cleaning, etc.
