Note - I've never rented a car before. I got zero information on how to use basic features of my rental car. Nothing was covered by the sales person like, how do I open the trunk from the inside of the car? How about from the outside? How do I put it in reverse (seriously Nissan why make a gear shift that requires a youtube video to learn to operate)? Why didn't they check the wipers before giving it to me so they would see the drivers side wiper falling apart in the middle of a rain storm? How do I use the key fob? Click twice? Click once? No click? Overall it was a really disappointing experience. I'll try a different company if I have to rent again. read more

I love this location. Had a rental for a month due to body damage on my car. They were a breeze to work with. In fact someone hit my rental and it had to be repaired. They made the whole experience seamless. My daughter had accidentally left a pair of keys in the glove compartment. The branch manager tracked them down for me so we were able to pick them up. In my 20 years of renting cars, this place provided the worst experience. While the front desk staff were professional and courteous, the problem lay with a manager or supervisor in the back office. My car was damaged from a car accident. After sending it to a nearby dealership to repair, I walked to this place to rent a car. After explaining my situation with the front desk girl, she said the only car available is a Ford Mustang. This back office guy then secretly waved at her. Realizing I also saw his gesture, he made up an excuse saying something is wrong with its tire. Then the front desk girl checked and said only car available is a Jeep pickup, we proceeded and finalized all documents to rent this Jeep. Just when we were about to walk to it, the back office guy intervened again. She then came back telling me she cannot give me that Jeep, instead the only car she has is a Nissan pickup. I ended up having to drive that relatively old truck home, only to find it is full of cigarette smell, which was not disclosed to me at all. It is evident that the back office prioritized profit over customer satisfaction, revealing questionable work ethics. read more

Rented from here twice while having work done on my own cars. The staff are always very courteous and accommodating. The cars have been clean, and when I'm scheduled to be picked up at the repair shop, the drivers arrive on time. The rental process is very streamlined compared to other rental agencies I've used. My track record with enterprise is crap, to say the least, but THIS store was amazing. I was traveling and my car broke down more than an hour from my house. I got it to dealer's service center nearby, but it would be days before they could get parts. Days. As in more than one. I knew I passed an Enterprise on my way to the dealership that was nowhere near where I lived, so I walked back and threw myself on their mercy. Obviously, I had no reservation, but they said they would be able to get me into something, and they were even able to find something reasonably priced, keeping in mind I was still going to have to shell out $$$ for my repair. Hamani, assist. manager patiently answered all my questions about methods of returning the car as this was an unplanned rental and I was far from home. When I returned the car (sliding in JUST under the wire for closing time), he and Lorenz - who had also been there when desperate me was looking for a rental - were just as pleasant and friendly as they were three days earlier. read more

My husband and I typically rent cars when we travel so I'm at a rental office usually 2-4 times per year, but I've never been to the one in my own back yard, this Enterprise, until last week. My car needed repair so I dropped it off at the Ford dealership down the street. They provided a loaner car during the repair so I was sent down to the Enterprise to pick that up. From start to finish the experience was excellent. They only had a few Ford vehicles in stock so I chose the bright red mustang convertible. HUMMINA HUMMINA HUMMINA! The office was slow so I interacted with everyone there and they were all SO outgoing and friendly. I felt so welcomed and appreciated, even though I wasn't the one footing the bill (thanks again, Ford!). A few bits of paperwork and a credit card hold for damages and I was handed the keys and out the door. I sat in the car for a minute setting up my phone and even one of the technicians stopped by and asked if the car was OK since I hadn't left yet. I told him what I was doing and he reminded me that if I had any questions they were there. Luckily I already had the Sync system in my own car so I knew how it worked, but it was good to have someone offer to give me a hand if I needed it. Alas, my time with the sexy mustang was not long as my car was ready the next day. I dropped that baby back off at the office with no hassle (the same folks who helped me the day before shared my disappointment that I didn't have a weekend with the car!) and they drove me right away back to the dealer to get my own car. The whole process was easy peasy and everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. I have a car locally but if I didn't, or was approached by anyone here looking to rent one for a bit, I would highly recommend this Enterprise office. They were fantastic! read more

At the beginning I thought it was a great experience, the people were nice and it was the 3rd enterprise I had to go to it being 4th of July weekend. I previously got into a car accident so my insurance set me up with Enterprise, all was great until I ended up having to pay $250 to fix something I did not break. The glove department wouldn't shut, the manager was out of town so I couldn't speak with him, then I had to call back EVERY time I wanted information I was told I would receive a call for. Because of someone not being diligent enough to check the glove box I'm paying $250. So thank you enterprise. read more

I've rented cars from Enterprise for many years and this particular location for about 3 years now. I've always found their service to be top notch (including picking me up and driving me home). I've never had any problems with car cleanliness inside or out. In inspecting cars for dings and bumps, they have a measuring tool on their clipboards to determine if a dent is large enough to note -- I've had marks go either way whether I spotted them or the agent, and either way they've erred on the side of not blaming me (calling it big enough to note) when there was a question. I've actually learned a few things from agents as well in that pre-flight check they do with you before you drive away (like what that little triangle next to the gas pump on your fuel gauge is for). I read through some of the other reviews, particularly the negative ones. As a frequent renter of cars, I think you need to be aware of what you are getting into when you do rent. Locations that are not at airports are going to have a limited selection of cars. What a national web site says is available and what the location actually has can be two different things (though the web site usually says something like "or comparable models") so, sadly, you cannot expect to get the car you think you're renting, only a car of that class. Even that can be dicey if there aren't any available at that size -- this has happened to me occasionally, and Enterprise has always offered me a free upgrade to the next larger class. When it comes to insurance, if you want to rely on your credit card company or your own auto insurance company's promise of coverage, RESEARCH IT BEFORE YOU RENT. Make sure they offer the coverage you'll need. Personally, I go for the full package from Enterprise. Yes, it practically doubles the cost per day for the rental. Over the years, though, I have been hit twice by other cars -- once a bent bumper, the other a broken sideview mirror housing on the driver's side. I was able to walk away from both of those without a scratch on my wallet, and Enterprise never turned its back on me or treated me with hostility for making use of its insurance. Accidents do happen. At the very least, consider their roadside assistance package if you don't have it yourself through AAA or some other source. Peace of mind is a beautiful thing. read more

I would give them a minus star if there was one. I have made a complaint to the state attorneys generals office for unauthorized charges on my credit card after a rental. Stay away from this car rental company. Beware when you sign their contract essentially you give the right to charge whatever they want on your card. I had a contract for a standard car and they, without my knowledge or expressed consent presented me a vehicle which turned out to be an upgrade. I was not informed of this until my credit card bill showed up and saw two additional charges with no substantiation on the first and no explanation of the second. BIG RIP OFF!!! read more

Can not begin to express my disgust at this disreputable establishment. Reserved a truck three days in advance of pick up. Was contacted the day before asking how I was going to pay. When informed they did not take debit cards, I asked about a money order. Was told that was fine with a pay stub and utility bill. Arrived to pick up and was told they had no trucks available. Willing, though unhappily, to substitute, was then informed my money order needed to be at least $400. I specifically asked, and was told in the call the day before that the money order needs to be the $150 rental fee. This is what I showed up with, expecting to rent a truck, only to be told they can't help me. Manager would not budge, leaving me and others extremely inconvenienced. I have never experienced this level of incompetence and uncaring in a company and left angry, upset and screwed. Truly an awful experience, and awful management I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Beware! Get things in writing, or suffer this locations incompetence at your own peril. Shame on this company that they should let this happen. Run far away, to a respectable place. I recently went here to get a rental that Ford was paying for while they did warranty work to my daughter's car. They seemed nice, but as it turned out they are liars. I was in a hurry, so I did something that I shouldn't have done and signed papers without reading. But I asked what I was signing and they actually lied to say that I was declining the additional insurance when, in fact, I signed to pay $14 a day. I had to sign 4 places and each one was a lie when asked what it was. I won't go into the hassle my experience was, but I hope to not go there again. read more

I recently got a rental car from this location. The staff was pleasant and helpful, although I didn't love being pushed so hard to buy the insurance that I didn't need. But the car that I got. YUK! It was filthy. Outside crud I don't care about, but inside ... I didn't want to touch anything. I was in need of a vehicle for a few days and I figured if I had to pay for a car I would get what I wanted. The insurance company was covering a small compact car, I'm almost 6 ft therefore I was NOT going to be comfortable in their compact or standard size, I was going to pay for extra for comfort so I decided to get the latest and greatest. I asked the Enterprise in my area if they had the new Lincoln MKZ, they said they didn't but the Ann Arbor store on Jackson st. did. I called, Spoke with Amy(DM) and was informed 3x that they did indeed have that particular car. My husband found out how much it was and was upset with me, but as I said earlier, if I am to pay I should pay to be comfortable. I paid someone to take me to the store just to find out that they DID NOT have this vehicle, they had a Lincoln MKX which is a SUV, I DID NOT WANT A SUV, I stated that when I spoke to Amy (hence3x conformation). Agreeably I was upset and VERY DISAPPOINTED. Instead of giving me what was agreed upon they tried to get me into a Malibu or a Camry. Now why would I pay someone gas for a regular car that I could have gotten at ANY other dealership and or my local Enterprise? Needless to say I took the SUV, I had no choice I was there with no vehicle. I had it for three days, it was clean, nice and it was a gas guzzler, it cost me almost $100 in gas because it has to be back at the same mark from whence it was given. And to add salt to injury upon returning the vehicle I was asked about the customer service and I said I chose NOT to respond, that is when the manager, I believe her name was ERIN disrespected me by saying that I WAS NOT promised the car I asked for, and that they gave me what I wanted therefore I should not have a problem. I informed Erin that i asked for a CAR (MKZ) NOT A SUV(MKX), two different vehicles. I tried not to entertain her with an argument but she was persistant, that is when I said that I could have gotten an SUV from anyone, why would I come to themn for what I got?! She said that "I was wrong that they are the only Lincoln dealership in Michigan" I looked at her and said" BYE"! SHE WAS CLUELESS, I now see why they receive bad marks. The only brightness was the gentleman who retrieve the vehicle, I dont remember his name, but he was the only one who actually cared that I was unhappy. I had rent your car from Ann arbor. I did not select to pay insurance that you offer. I tried to examine the car carefully as much as I can under the condition of your car that not totally cleaned(some dirt some smog about 5.00 pm.) Their service was very nice, everything should be the best and I appreciated that. But at the day that I returned the rental car. I totally conscious enough to say that there are not any accidents at all during my trips everyday. But the officer try to examined that car and said that there were some dimples at the hood beyond the front windshied on the left side. I totally surprised on this. Thanks to Ben the Manager our trip was a success. I rented a minivan through Costco's website. When I went to pick it up, I was automatically "upgraded" to an SUV. Great, right? Not for me, the problem with that is that we were driving 600 miles, so gas is FAR more expensive in an SUV. 2nd problem- the height is too high to transfer our relative from a wheelchair to a back seat. Ben was able to find us a minivan quickly so we could get the vehicle we expected. Why is this so great? Last year we rented a minivan from the Brighton location- same scenario: automatic "upgrade", told them we couldn't take an SUV and they did nothing to help make it right. I'll be sure to rent from the A2 Jackson Rd. location from now on. read more

I've rented cars several times from Enterprise on Jackson Road. It's always a great experience. I'm consistently offered an upgrade. The cars are immaculate and higher end models. The customer service is beyond good. They offer you bottled water. The staff is super friendly and personable. They will pick you up and drop you off if you need a ride. Even if there's a long line, they work as fast as possible and acknowledge and apologize when you have to wait. There's an hour grace period when returning the car. They don't push hard on extra insurances or prepaid gas. I have had nothing but very positive experiences at this location. This is a well-run business. I was unable to rent a car because I lost my photo license and only had a paper one, which was understand me. So, my husband rented the car for me, put me down as a authorized driver. Worst rental car experience hands down. The lack of communication within the building is astonishing.

I have reason to believe that I was cheated by Enterprise Rent-a-car employee from the Jackson Rd office in Ann Arbor. I dropped my car at Sesi Mazda, Jackson Rd, Ann Arbor, MI a couple of days ago and they offered me a service where they would give me a rental car from Enterprise as they had no loaner cars. As I has to drive back to work and the nature of service was unknown, I decided to avail this offer. When I picked the car at enterprise we walked around the car to document any scratches/dents on the car. I carefully noted and took pictures of the exterior to ensure I do not miss any imperfections. I sat in the rental car and drove the rental car to work and back home for two days. When I returned my car today with the same amount of gas that I had got it, the Enterprise representative said to me that there was a large hole in the leather seat which was not previously documented and claimed that it looked new. I typically wear jeans and a top , no hanging jewelry and carry no sharp objects with myself in my bag. My bag is typically set on the back seat when I drive to work. The key provided to me was an automatic fob so there is little to no chance that it caused any scratches , forget a large hole, in the leather seat in 2 days of driving. The hole when I checked after he pointed it to me looked like a cut using a knife or a sharp object and I have every reason to believe that the employee made it himself when I returned the vehicle. I was charged 250 dollars for something that I did not cause and they refused to give me any correct procedure after this incident was reported. The only stupid thing on my part is that I did not take any photos of the interior when I took the car as that would have probably been my only proof against this false accusation. I was only out to service my brand new Mazda that was still in its warranty period and I would have never gone out and rented a car if it weren't for a service that Mazda offered. I have driven a 2005 Sentra for almost 10 years without a scratch on the seats and the new Mazda that I drive has leather seats and I drive it to work in the same set of clothes that I wore when I drove this rental car, my seats are spotless. I am very frustrated and disappointed with this incident and will never trust Enterprise rent-a-car in the future. This is a scam and I have been very unfortunate to fall prey to it. I will urge that anyone renting a car duly ensure with pictures that both interiors and exteriors of the rental car are documented before you accept it to avoid a scam like this. And DO NOT rent a car from Enterprise at Jackson rd, Ann Arbor , MI. They are out there to swindle money from honest, innocent and straight forward customers. Got two rentals in the past 3 weeks to take on road trips to the east coast. The first was a Fiat 500, which they saved for me since I was considering buying one. The second would have been a Yaris, but when I arrived on site they only had a Chevy Malibu. While this would have been more comfortable, I was aiming for higher MPG's. I told the manager, Erin, and she suggested that I take the Malibu for the afternoon and come back later to exchange it when a few more people were due to return their rentals (note: apparently on fridays you can get the largest selection of cars if you rent in the afternoon). Anyhow, when I came back two hours later she hooked me up with a Prius. I was not pressured to buy insurance or any extras. The seats are a little stained (looks like coffee), but really I have nothing bad to say about these guys. I'll be going back next time I rent. I did not really interact with anyone else, but Erin was very helpful. read more

User beware: they will try to overcharge you. I initially had a great experience that unfortunately went sour. I made advanced reservations online and was quoted $181. I was flying into Detroit and my flight was delayed making me unable to get to the office before closing -- my initial interaction was great -- no problem, we will pick you up at your hotel first thing in the morning. So kind! The next morning ... no one comes. After two tries I get through and they send someone -- ok, stuff happens, not the biggest deal. The gentleman that picked me up was very friendly. Until I go to sign the rental agreement where they conveniently scrolled past the total due for me to sign. Yup, my bad -- you should read everything you sign. Afterwards I realize I never saw the total and opened the email (still sitting in the parking lot) and realize that the total is More than 2x my initial quote. Um .. no. I went back in and kindly asked for an explanation for the difference ... the manager asked for the quote, looked at it and said "fine". No apology, no explanation ... nothing. This could have been an awesome experience but that was a sketchy move. read more

I have been going to this branch for years and years, and I have never had or seen a single problem. The staff is professional, extremely friendly, and very helpful. I have not met a single unfriendly person among them ever. Even when dealing with difficult customers, they have always done their very best to accommodate the customers' needs. I once had to leave town for a family emergency and extend my rental, and it was no problem. They were understanding and accommodating, and I didn't have to worry about that, too, at all. I have used many other Enterprise locations, but this one clearly stands out for excellent customer service. I'm so grateful this is my Enterprise branch. read more

Enterprise claims to recognize and honor National Car Rental status which is not correct, as an Executive member with National I should be upgraded to the next level of car for free, this is not the case at this location. I rent from this location frequently since it is closest to my home, yet my car rental company of preference is National, since they recognize and appreciate your loyalty. There was a recent manager change at this location, unfortunately not for the better, the previous manager appreciated regular customers and treated them accordingly. I also think the car should be full of gas when you pick it up, very difficult to return a car with 3/8ths tank of gas. read more

I rent for business trips frequently. But this review is for the pick-up truck I rented for a camping trip. The main reason for the 5 stars is the people at this rental location. The truck was fine and the price was right. I had a long bike ride home after dropping off the truck and the gal at the shop mentioned she could take me home. I wanted to ride, but she took me where I could ride home without so much traffic and cut out a few hills. They also didn't push unwanted insurance, etc. read more

I made a reservation for a car days in advance and each time once I got to the location to pick up the car, I was told that there was no car available.
