My car was being repaired and I needed a rental. I reserved a car at this location from their website and received a message saying the car was reserved (with a reservation number). When I arrived, they tell me they have no cars available because they have to honor reservations made the previous day. Clearly they overbooked. I ended up having to leave there without a car, and went to Budget car rental in Waterford - a much smoother experience. Wasted much of my day with Enterprise. Cannot recommend. read more

I have not slandered, but I think it's so hilarious that they're trying to hide the truth. **UPDATE 3/21/25: I was placed on the do not rent list because the manager at the Auburn Hills location said that I THREATENED him. No one called me to get my side of the story. Just put me on the list without some sort of investigation at least. Awww.... him mad that a woman spoke up for herself without yelling and using profanity so he had to lie on me! I will definitely keep you all posted. I attached the email I sent to their risk management department because I have no issue being transparent. I admitted bringing the vehicle late. But I will not tolerate someone lying on me! (Original review 3/19/25) So the manager at this location decided to wait until the day before my reservation to cancel it because I hung up on him a few days prior to avoid escalating the situation. Justin if I'm not mistaken left me a voicemail stating that he canceled my reservation and put me on a 90 day hold because I was late returning the vehicle and for hanging up on him. Not that I used profanity or that I even yelled at him. Simpleton actually said this on my voice mail. I take full responsibility for returning the vehicle late never did I deny or argue that. But the manager got mad because I checked him for calling my phone making sarcastic remarks about me returning the car late and where the car was. Mind you, I had already returned the car overnight. The manager didn't even take the time to see if the vehicle was returned before calling me being disrespectful about where the car was. Whole time he's looking at the car in the parking lot yelling at me on the phone. It's hilarious that he held a grudge for 3 days before canceling my reservation. If he was truly professional, he would have canceled my reservation and issued a 90 day cool off the same day it happened. read more

Marcellus was a gem! My husband and I both had unexpected car troubles simultaneously. We tried to rent a car from a location closer to home, but were called last minute to cancel on a Monday with 50 minutes before close. I called this location and Marcellus hooked us up! He stayed late to help us (amazing!), price matched, gave us an upgrade, compensated our uber to get the car, and was extremely pleasant and empathetic to our situation. I have never been so pleased with service at a rental car location. I would certainly rent from this location again because of how much Marcellus did. I hope Enterprise recognizes his customer service skills. read more

Extremely disappointed with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The customer service was terrible -- the staff was unprofessional, unhelpful, and acted like my time didn't matter at all. On top of that, the car I was given was dirty inside and clearly hadn't been properly cleaned before being rented out. For the price they charge, basic cleanliness and respectful service shouldn't be too much to ask. This was easily one of the worst rental experiences I've had, and I won't be coming back. I had a probelm with our jeep so I needed to rent a car. I made a reservation from enterprise rent a car in Auburn Hills michigan. The next day I received a phone call and was informed they only had two vehicles. I picked up the car it was an Audi A5 . This was the worst vehicle for me to drive because I had a cervical fusion on my neck and the car sits very low to the ground. It was giving me trouble just getting in and out of the vehicle. The trip to Indiania was not good by any means. Both of our backs were sore by the time we reached the destination. I would have paid 500 not to have driven this car to Indiania. I was thrilled to return this vehicle and I mentioned to the guest representative there she took 50 dollars of the bill. My wife and I will never forget the awful ride from Enterprise. If I could I would make this post with zero stars .This isn't first incident but my original post was too long . There's more to this story but not enough room. This is short version We've had the car since Nov and have spent over $2,000 and now it makes a loud grinding noise when it's put in reverse. I call up there and after 44 min on hold I finally get ahold of someone and I ask to speak to a manager I was informed one wasn't available she stepped out, the first thing I ask is, is it custom to have to wait 44 min to speak to someone I got instant attitude (I was already in a mood because me and my FIANCÉ had been fighting all day about everything so I started calling him roommate to be petty) as I was speaking to the lady I said my "Roommate " is bringing the car to exchange it, she said they don't have cars take it to the silver lake location. We took it to the M59 one. We stopped at the speedway across the street first when we came out a car was parked too close to ours and my FIANCÉ couldn't get in so I get it and drove it across the street. He (the manager)starts the process and says sorry I can't rent to you guys and I can't re-rent this car to you either, confused we asked why he said because it was logged that at 3:00 pm there was a unauthorized person driving the car. We said that was ridiculous because at 3:00 the car was parked in our driveway. I grab my fiancé's phone go out side (mind you, I start recording) I call the opdyke store and then the "manager" gets on the phone and proceeds to tell me that she was in the store earlier and the phone was on speaker she heard me say roommate and I'm unauthorized on the account because I am not his fiancé I am his roommate, I explain to her that we were fighting I was calling him that all day to piss him off, but any other time I've called that location (its been more than a few ) I've always referred to him as my fiancé , and that's because he is my fiancé . She's rude she's talking to me like I'm a child I'm explaining to her that she doesn't know what she's talking about . I'm telling her that we share a son and have been together over14 years. I said I don't care what you think you're wrong and the Reason for our fight in the damn dynamics of what we're going through right now is none of your business. I want to know why at 3o'clock it was put in the computer there was a unauthorized driver driving that car, all she can say is the camera seen you drive to that location (WE DIDNT GET THERE UNTIL 5:25 pm) I said that's at 5:35 at 3:00 the car was parked in our driveway she can't even give me a half ass answer. She can't tell me why now all of a sudden they don't have my license on file so I don't know how she was going to explain why that it was put in their computer not to rent to us or why a unauthorized use of the car was entered in @3pm when the car was in our drive. I even go back inside so the manager can again confirm what he just explained to us.about the Unauthorized use of the car beenat the store we were at again just to get it on record he once again says the same thing. So now I'm getting pissed but I don't loose my sh$&. Finally after going back and forth she says you have to prove you have the same address. I said that is easy we start to get out our licenses she then say" "you know what I'm not dealing with this , Ill let him deal with it what ever he wants to do is fine" and hung up in my face. (EVERYTHING IS RECORDED) . I call customer service (lol) the dm calls my FIANCÉ the next deal he is clueless and can't answer our questions about how is it possible that when I called at 2:45 no manager was there then all of a sudden she's not only there but my phone calls put on speaker so the whole store can hear and she knew another one at 3o'clock there was an unauthorized driver driving avehicle that was parked in our driveway all he can keep saying is well it was it recorded that she showed up at the store driving and since she's your roommate she can't be driving the car again we didn't shop until almost 530 at the other store so my fiancé said you can't even keep your story straight and hung up,they're threatening us with going to jail and reporting the car stolen if we don't bring , don't want to bring us home when we return the car. When asked how we were supposed to get home,her response was Not My Prolbem" don't have another way to my mother's funeral!!!!!! read more

update 9/1/16: I am very dissatisfied. Company does not follow-up on their promise... Something that was contingent to a "satisfied" review. Customer Service does whatever it can to get you to state that you are "satisfied" to keep their "ratings" high. I had a reservation for a Monday morning (My auto repair shop did it so to be honest I do not know if they reserved it last minute or not). But, I can only write as to my experience, which was highly disorganized and not professional. The Enterprise representative called me about 20 minutes before the appointment, inquiring if I was still going to need a rental. I left a message indicating that I was. Ok, that seemed somewhat last minute... When I dropped off my car on time, the representative wasn't there. When he did show up, he didn't even have the car rental! When we got to the Auburn Hills location, I had to wait even longer for them to clean the car! Enterprise has a calling center that tries to end the call indicating that you were satisfied with the rental. It seems to be part of corporate and not specifically related to this location, though. The representative promised me information via e-mail as how to redeem what they offered me. It did not arrive. The way Enterprise handles customer service is confusing. There is a toll-free number, which directs you to a local Enterprise location. They offered me a deal through their own location. It works for me, since I live in the area... but it is not infrequent that travelers rent cars in locales far from where they live. Maybe they are in need of a more centralized customer service! read more

Received a Enterprise-branded poster from my local auto shop for a special daily rate while our car was being worked on. Called this local Enterprise office to book a car using the special rate offered BY Enterprise to customers of this auto shop, and the representative was totally clueless! How can you offer AND ADVERTISE a special rate and have your service representatives be totally ignorant to the details? The worst part of this experience was that the representative put the burden on me, asking that I call the auto shop that referred us to this local Enterprise for a "code" because nothing was coming up in their system. I'm very disappointed that she didn't provide normal service by consulting a manager or offering us the rate anyway. There is nothing worse than asking about a special advertised by a business, and the representatives of that business being totally clueless about its existence and how to implement it. Here is some of the wording of the poster: "Does your customer need a rental car but does not have rental coverage on their insurance policy? Enterprise is here to help! We are offering great rates exclusive to your shop! Any intermediate or smaller vehicle will be offered to you at a rate of just XX.XX per day!! Please call your local office for details at XXX-XXX-XXX" Very disappointed in Enterprise and the training they give their employee's. I rented a car at the Enterprise office in Auburn Hills MI on 10.23.2015. The staff was very professional and personable . Not only did they give me excellent service; they went beyond the call of duty. I was having a technical problem with my cell phone and they assisted me in solving my technical issue. And with my COSTCO membership, I got a great rental car at a great rate. read more
