I just dropped some friends off at Enterprise and the staff was extremely friendly and efficient. My friends were able to get an upgrade which was greatly appreciated due to the volume of luggage that they had. this is a very busy town at different times of the year and I'm sure they're overwhelmed at times so but under normal circumstances they can take care of your needs and wants when it comes to rent in a car. They her my first choice in Boone when it's time to rent a car or van. read more

Although I understand that there is some variability in vehicle availability, when the car has been reserved and the online checkin has been done and they call the night before to say that they don't have a vehicle, that is a problem. Especially when you have ridden to Boone on a bike from VA and need the car to get home. That is literally the entire concept of a reservation! read more

The worst experience. We came in to get a rental car due to a wreck. They were extremely busy. The girl went out to give us the car, she barely looked at the rental, took the mileage and away we went. Fast forward to us bringing it back. We brought it back, the same girl came out, said everything looks fine, got the mileage and away went we. Now fast forward to a month later and we got a bill saying that we owe over $800 for damages on the vehicle. That we caused roof damage and other damages. The girl of course barely looked at it either time, and we have no way to say that we didn't cause the damages, but the car was driven a total of 305 miles. That's it, in like 14 days. To work and back. We didn't cause the damages, she didn't document them prior to us leaving in the first place. Looks like enterprise needs to get some employees that know how to inspect a vehicle properly instead of saying everything looks fine. Will never do business there again! Probably the worst place in recent memory to rent a car. We have rented two SUV's here during the last month. The first we rented an explorer or similar. They did not have a vehicle of this class to rent so they showed us what was available. Most their cars were beat up and had over 50,000 miles. We ended up with a rough riding jeep wrangler that was very uncomfortable to drive. The second rental we reserved the same, an explorer or similar. Again they didn't have this class. They offered us a Jeep Wrangler and we said no as we needed something with more room and more comfort. They charged us an upgrade fee to get a worn out Tahoe with 51,000 miles. This should have been retired 20,000 miles ago. It was dirty and well worn. But the worst part is when we got to Raleigh we realized the registration expired two months prior. We did not have a legal registration sticker or legal registration! We returned the car less than one hour late and were charged $27 for an hour late return when the daily rental rate was $75. Avoid if possible. They will not honor anything from expedia. Even if they have cars on the lot they will not honor expedia's discount. This may leave you without a vehicle or you show you up without any other option but to pay their rate at over double what you reserved. I have never experienced such horrid service from any rental company. I am on vacation in my work truck. My fuel regulator was going bad, so I needed to drop my truck off at a shop and get a rental to go back up the mountain. My original rental was set for Boone, NC. I asked if it could be changed to Waynesville since I was dropping my work truck off for repairs just down the road. I was told it was no problem they checked the system and confirmed the change. I even called the Waynesville location myself to double check, and they confirmed it again. After driving two hours to Waynesville, I was told they had NO vehicle for me. Completely unacceptable. I was livid. I then had to drive my already messed-up work truck two hours back for nothing. It somehow got worse. I later tried to rent from the Boone location once I got my truck towed. They waited until the last minute to call and tell me they did not have the SUV I specifically requested and in fact, had no vehicle at all. I later found out the real reason: they did not want their SUV to go one way to another state, so they lied to me. I was told a regional manager would call me to address this situation. That never happened. No call. No follow up. No accountability. Both the Waynesville and Boone locations are the worst Enterprise locations I've ever dealt with disorganized, dishonest, and completely disrespectful of customers' time. I wouldn't want to face customers either if I ran locations this badly. Rent from ANY other company! read more

IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD! Sorry to write this review because I work in a service industry, but when you take funds nefariously from a customer, hang up on them when they call, and fail to correct it, it needs to be done. I rented a car for my son in-law, as we were in Boone, NC for my daughter's wedding and his car broke down. He has two young children and was stranded on a country road. The car was towed to the Subaru Dealership in Boone on the late afternoon of August 7th, and I arranged for a car rental for him from Enterprise the next day. I rented the car from this facility with him on Friday, August 8th and it was returned Saturday, August 9th. A simple one day rental. Because Enterprise would not offer a 2 mile drive to the dealership to pick up the car that was repaired, the Enterprise employee ok'ed us to the leave the rental at the Subaru Dealership in Boone and they would pick it up. Sure enough, it was picked up that morning, as when we returned to the dealership because we forgot the car seats, it was gone and were informed Enterprise picked it up. Then: Enterprise continued to charge ups for the car until August 13th. I received a $396 charge for a one day rental. I called both the 800 number and the store directly. On the morning of August 21st I spoke with someone at the Boone location 10:00am and gave them, my information and explained what happened. I asked to speak with the manager, was put me on hold and then she proceeded to hang up on me. SHE (NOR THE MANAGER) DID NOT CALL BACK, SHE DID NOT ACCEPT ANY MORE CALLS FROM ME. Enterprise Rental Boone NC made a decision to steal our money by faking the return date. As such, I live in Washington DC, and will be directly walking into the consumer fraud department of the Attorney General's office and file a complaint and open an investigation. DON'T FREQUENT THIS ESTABLISHMENT AS THEY WILL COMMIT FRAUD AND TAKE MONEY FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD. read more

TERRIBLE CAR, WORST SERVICE I rented a car from Enterprise in NC. My rental car got a flat tire near Boone, NC. The Ashe County Sheriff's department was kind enough to stop and change my tire for me. I called Enterprise and they asked me 1,000 questions and refused to connect me to the Boone, NC store. I drove my rental car on the spare tire to the Boone, NC location, and the person behind the desk was 0% helpful with a snotty, smug attitude. Although they had a parking lot full of cars, she told me "those are for other customers" and that I needed to drive the car myself around the corner to Mr. Tire and they will fix the tire and bill Enterprise. This place is the WORST. A reservation is absolutely meaningless, if you've made one, don't expect to get a vehicle. They will call you the day of your reservation and cancel out of the blue for no reason and will offer you no alternative arrangements. When you contact Enterprise corporate they will be apologetic and offer to "escalate" your situation which will result in nothing happening. Boone office said they didn't have their other office numbers or could transfer me to them. They told me to lookup the number and try. Fire the Manager Luke!! No personality and young woman said he cancelled it because it was a one way he needed the cars. Should not be my problem as my reservation was confirmed twice on the week that I booked it. Luke called at 6:50pm the night before and told me he cancelled my reservation. When I asked for his name he hung up on me! Ruined my whole trip with my daughter as trying to figure out how to get back home which is five hours away. Stopped by the Enterprise location to give the manager, which I found out his name and he tried to make it all about him that they are so busy he couldn't sit down once the day before. WHO CARES I'm stranded 5 hours from home. Don't send me you canned We value good customer service that you send to everyone because you don't. Had to take a shuttle from Boone to Charlotte airport to get a rental car as all dealers close at noon on Saturday and are closed on Sunday. I am going 2 hours in the wrong direction to just get a rental car. You only got 1 star as I could not give you zero. Plus my hotel stated this was a on going problem in Boone as he is a monopoly there and does not car about his reservations. My hotel stated they tell people to rent cars outside of Boone. Yeah great customer service, NOT!!! And look below you sent me the same "canned" message that you send EVERYONE. I feel sorry for all The "Chris" that work for your company. Get with the program. Yes Customer Service. Everyone read all the reviews of this Enterprise in Boone Nc and you will understand what the company does not. Did I also mentioned that I called customer service as soon as I heard of the cancellation and then again early Saturday morning and customer service is trained to say this is not normal and we will "escalate" and the Management will send another car to that location and call you back. Rent a car with no available cars. Got stuck in Boone due to car malfunction and has to be service for wklong. Made a reservation through Costco and booked for 14 days for the rental car. Got a call that they don't have a car for today but unsure if they will ha e any car Tom as well. Called and spoke to enterprise help center and was told a manager will call me back since I already made the reservation. We needed two rental vehicles, working through insurance, because both of our vehicles were in the shop. Local Manager Tyler could not have been more responsive, professional and accommodating in securing us two satisfactory vehicles and in a timely manner; from the initial inquiry to the final drop. His effort, no less, was during mountain high season and supply issues. We had to travel nearly 40 min to Boone because the other Enterprise location near the body shop in Wilkesboro made no effort to help on two separate calls -- simply citing 'sorry, no cars...don't know what or when to expect'. This facility is a training location as well as a very busy site due to the skiing and local universities. The kids are fun to work with and always go the extra mile. I use this Enterprise location about 10 -15 weeks a year for work and have had some excellent service. a few times there were some issues that needed a bit of attention, so please let the Assistant Manager or Manager know, to help better prepare their staff. in most cases this is the 1st real job these kids Have had. read more

These guys get a "atta boy" from me! I had a MVA and my car was totaled so I needed a car. These guys let me take a car and then effortlessly transferred the account over to a direct bill when the insurance called in take over the account. Then when I turned in the car in another city, early, there was a SNAFU and they handled it without a hitch and never asked anything of me! This was the one of the easiest parts of having a wreck! We normally grab a car from here for vacations as our car is older and the ac is long gone. Then we needed to haul a 9' 6" door so I called and got a 10 ft cargo van. The staff was most helpful with the selection of the van. I was unsure of when I would pick up the van and when I called to tell them I was on my way at 7:35 am, I was told my van was ready. Chris was most helpful and gave us all the info. I returned the van to Tucker after we had finished. The 200 bucks was released that day. read more

The staff is always so accommodating and they have great rates for 3 day rentals, however, unlike their competition ( Car Dealers ) in town, they don't give you a discount for longer rentals, the rates at enterprise double after the 3rd day while others give you a deeper discount the longer you rent....that makes me rent from others when I need a car longer. Also, you cant park your car at the rental agency, you have to be picked up or inconvenience someone to drop you off and pick you back up, this makes no sense. Many times I rent because my cars are older and it would be so easy just to drive myself to their business and park my car. read more

Truck was great. No complaints there. However, having up to 7 or 8 guys (to include gals) loitering in the back texting, talking about last nights hammer-time with chairs in full reclining (Cadillac) position was sad to see. Sad because I'm sure the owner (or whomever) would not allow this. It is intimidating to customers. For me, I can see past it and move on. I'm a management consultant and have seen far worse. Others may not return because of this environment. I see high praises being given out here on Yelp and that experience for others is great. As a local I've been there twice and each time I've had similar experience. This was at minimum a year apart. Needless to say, I almost expected "car rental place fail" or CRPF. In my best drug commercial voice: CRPF is a serious condition that affects millions of travelers each year. Right now, there is now cure and it is high contagious. Ha. Anyway, to add to all this, it was by far (as a former travelling professional) the worst check in procedure any organization has ever created. I'm not kidding. The staff was pretty good I will say. This is not their fault and I feel bad that they are forced into such an awkward position. Put it this way, one guy was actually using his personal cell phone while simultaneously entering my data into the system...which should have already been there. This was because what ever he needed he could not do on his terminal. If anything, allow a lot more time for your check-in and call ahead to make sure you have ALL the documentation they fail to let you know you need in the on-line reservation process. For the owner: Management needs to give the staff people a place to sit "out of view". My professional opinion. Keep having fun, but keep it professional and less intimidating for your future customers. These people are amazing! They clearly "get" customer service and really excel at it. They are friendly and personable, and the atmosphere among the workers makes it a fun and positive experience to deal with them. I love how Enterprise is really making it easy, with their offers to pick you up and drop you off, and their great selection and pricing. It's nice that their pricing includes unlimited mileage, or at least my agreement with them did. That makes them the most reasonably priced option compared with competitors. They drove a really long way to pick me up without any complaint. I ended up returning the vehicle 2 days early, and they immediately refunded me for the time, without being asked. I had also put a scratch on the car, and because I had taken out their insurance, all I had to do was sign a couple of papers. No deductible. That was awesome. I recently was hit by someone who was covered with Nationwide Insurance and the only positive thing I have to say about this whole ordeal was that they paid for me to have a rental car from Enterprise of Boone while my truck was being fixed. The folks at Enterprise of Boone took superb care of me from the moment I first called to the time they dropped me off to pick up my car. When I first called I had to request a pickup at Ashe County Ford. I work 3rd shift and get off at 7 am and I was going to drop my truck off when the Ford place opened at 8. Brittany with Enterprise quickly informed me that she would send someone to come pick me up as soon as they opened at 7:30. It's about a 45 minute drive from Boone to Ashe but the fellow arrived promptly at 8:15 so I knew that he had indeed left as soon as they opened. Everyone that I came in contact with was super friendly and knew what they were doing. I had to call and extend my reservation because the body shop took longer than originally intended and they handled that with absolutely no hassel. They put me in a wonderful car that I loved to drive! When I brought the car back I needed a ride back to Ashe and they requested I call about an hour before I arrived so they would be sure to have a driver there for me and sure enough as soon as I dropped my car off they were whisking me away back to Ashe. Enterprise of Boone is what made this whole ordeal bearable and I am forever appreciative of that. They will have my business again! Thank you guys! read more
