From the time I picked up the rental vehicle to the time I dropped off the vehicle. The staff were fantastic!! I was able to get a rental from this location even though every vehicle was rented I was told. I did have to up the size too SUV which was a bit larger then I was use to driving, it all worked out. The only down fall the SUV was a gas guzzler!! I still had fun driving it around all the same. Note: Take your time and take plenty of pictures of the inside and outside including windshield of the vehicle before driving off the lot also take a picture of the gas level. Make sure the staff are aware of any small damage no matter how small it is to the staff. Pictures are a thousand words that are time stamped. The lot for the customers is quite small it felt tight to park. Maybe because the vehicle I had was larger. LOL I do believe this is the only location downtown Calgary. It's fairly busy well at least when I showed up. All around good experience so far and will return if ever needing a rental. read more

Be very careful renting from the downtown Enterprise location on 9th ave sw. I had my car in for repairs and my insurance covered for a car rental. I had a small mitsubishi from july 21 to 26th. Pre inspection, no damages or anything. Post inspection - The 2 male attendants used their cheap device to check for hail damage or dents and said there might be hail damage on the roof! It never even rained in west calgary July 21-26th. You can google hail damage scam by Enterprise car rental and see reviews. I have to say its a great insurance scam! The customer cant do anything, unless you took video all around your car. Which I did not do because there was perfect weather in forecast. Maybe the attendants get bonuses for bringing in more revenue! read more

Completely heartless staff. There was no street parking available and my cat was dying in my arms so I parked my car in their lot to rush her to the vet beside them. After my cat had passed I came back to ask if I could leave my car there while I picked out an urn. I was told no and had to drive around and look for a new spot. The girl had to have her other coworker come out to make sure the headlights were out, as if I couldn't see them burnt out and the dash lights all on. They gave me a car and asked me to go take it to the shop to fix the headlights LOOOL. I've been a regular with enterprise for a couple years but find it to be progressively more difficult each time I'm returning. Not a bad place over all, would suggest a different location. Don't leave your car parked in their parking lot when you go away. I left mine and the window got smashed. They said it happens quite often and they felt sorry for me. The car wasn't very clean and was alerting that an oil change was due. Also, the tires needed air. I wish I had gotten them to come pick me up (like they used to advertise). Instead I'm out a couple hundred buck to get my window fixed. They felt sorry though, so that's nice. read more

Extremely unhelpful. I rented a car in March, and got a citation in the time I had the car. I understand that the citation was my fault and was more than willing to pay for it. So, I paid this citation and all fees associated with the rental car. However, enterprise still went ahead and sold the (already paid) debt to a third company. They also didn't notify me at all that this debt was sold or that they thought I didn't pay this ticket. I've phoned enterprise repeatedly about this and they've just given me the run around. Some of the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced! Employees kept giving me the wrong numbers to call and transferring me until the call dropped. They have confirmed that this was their mistake and done nothing to rectify the situation. I would be VERY WARY about renting from this company! If I could give this company less than 1 stars I would. read more

I interacted with different staff when picking up and dropping off the vehicle, but in both cases they were so friendly and nice it was almost creepy (without quite crossing that line, heh). Joked around, offered me donuts, shook my hand, thanked me for waiting and for doing business with them, etc. No issues with the rental. Everything was explained to me and everything worked out as it should. No fuss. read more

My wife and I were in a pinch after reserving with another location and missing our pick up time by 15 minutes (the other location closed at 12pm and we were stuck). We came to this location and were pretty desperate and despite the rental car shortage in the area, Sam worked everything out for us so we could get the larger SUV size that we really needed for our 3 week car camping trip. I returned a car I had rented via my insurance company here on a Sunday. I chose this location mostly because it was one of a few actually open on weekends for a whole day. I found the location a little tricky...its in a "blink and you'll miss it" kind of spot on and if you are on 9th Ave SW which is one way, you have to do some circling around to get back to it. There was next to no parking there either so I wasn't sure where to leave my rental and because the lot is so small, there wasn't really anywhere to leave it for a minute to ask. I can't imagine how chaotic it would be during the week when downtown is so busy. The employees were friendly although a little overwhelming. Three of them scrambled to help me when I arrived (it appeared there were about 6 working and there was nothing to do-they were all sitting in silence). It made it a little awkward and the fact they were all dressed in identical black suits made me wonder if I had stepped into a secret "Men in Black" hideout. This location is good if you live downtown or need flexible weekend service hours. read more

My truck was in an accident so my insurance set me up with Enterprise. Was given a reservation number and told to call the day before my truck went into the shop. As directed called and was picked up when they said they would. Back at their office they were quick to set me up and get me out the door. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! My truck went in for service at the dealership down the street. I was told by both enterprise and the dealership to bring the rental back to the dealership once the service was done. I left the vehicle at the dealership. 4 days later I got a call from Enterprise saying there was damage to the vehicle I rented. I did not damage this vehicle. I asked why they were calling me 4 days after I returned it. The enterprise rep said that they didn't pick the truck up until that day and that I'm still responsible for the truck regardless if I had returned it and someone else damaged it. I asked them to call the dealership to get the security footage, was told by the rep that they were too busy. Enterprise sent me an invoice for $2,000 for a vehicle I didn't damage. I spoke with the branch manager, she told me she would speak with the dealership. no phone call back. I phoned back 4 days later and was told I'm am to pay or I will be taken to collections. I asked how can I be responsible for something I returned and you are saying I still am responsible because your staff did not pick up the vehicle until 4 days later. was told they would open an investigation and someone from enterprise would contact me. I phoned back 3 days later to be told that they wont open an investigation and they will take me to collections. No one calls back. No one communicates. They just send invoices I'm not responsible for. read more

We were extremely disappointed with your company for two reasons. The first: we reserved a Nissa Versa "or similar" and we had to leave with a Kia Soul because the car we had reserved was supposedly no longer available, exactly as when we reserved (Volkswagen Jetta "or similar")) in September 2021, except that in September 2021 we managed to have a better car model. We did not appreciate the Kia Soul at all, which reminds us of a bumper car and which seemed very unsafe and uncomfortable to us. Second reason: we returned the car on Sunday afternoon a little before closing time, and it was very briefly inspected by your employee. Shortly after we realized that a backpack belonging to us had been left behind the car and we made several calls to customer service and other numbers found on the website to try to pick it up, the rental office having just closed. We received no help, from absolutely no one, except to be told that an email would be sent....on a Sunday afternoon, who is going to check their emails at Enterprise? Who??? The contents of this backpack were extremely important and we absolutely needed it the same day. But no one cared, and we had to go to the airport early the next morning. We had to show up before the office opened on Monday morning, hoping someone would be there. Fortunately, yes, someone had arrived and found the backpack which we recovered. In conclusion, no, we will never book a car with Enterprise again. Your customers do not seem very important to you, so we will go elsewhere. read more

I had a fantastic rental car experience with this location. All the employees are nice and helpful. It took maybe 10 minutes to get the car and I was on my way! When I returned it, they helped me get back to my hotel and I was done then within 20 minutes! We left our passports in the glove box and they promptly called me and my hotel to make sure we got them. They brought them to the hotel for us, so amazing! LOVE LOVE LOVE this Enterprise! read more

We have had enough. We rented a car from @Enterprise Rent-A-Car in SW Calgary, and they have overcharged us for the wrong car. We have contacted them 5 times in Calgary and at least 5 times home in Australia. They have still NOT credited back the money they owe us which is $579. We are growing very tired of their laziness to get this refunded and finalised. The authorisation number for Enterprise Rent-A-Car to verify is 892737. They are obviously not listening to us. If it is not resolved immediately, we will be taking legal action. There is no excuse..its been many months now and we are still out of pocket. Enterprise Rent-A-Car customer service is extremely poor and I would not recommend Enterprise Rent-A-Car to anyone wishing to rent an automobile. read more

I will never rent from this company ever again. The service was okay. However the second I had to put down a deposit as I didn't have a credit card. its now been almost 3 months and I've yet received the refund. I have spoken to a manager, he neglected to keep me updated or email back as he said he would. I spoke to another manager at the location, he had also reassured that I would be getting it back. However inquiring about the status about the refund he did not respond. I voiced my concerned about the quality of service. He apologized and said I would receive it in the next 5-10 business days. I have since emailed 3 different times to confirm the appropriate address and have not heard from them. Their level of service is rather despicable. They seem to only value and care about their customer's until they have your money/deposit and when there is an issue, they talk you around in circles not necessarily giving you correct information. Finally, they don't return your money. I would not use this business in the future and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

I have used this location a couple of times as I live close by. Their staff is friendly, respectful and do their job really really fast. I am normally in an out within 10 min. And if you haven't done so, please do take advantage of their free pick up and drop off service. Normally the car they pick u in is your eventual rental car, so it saves you time as well, and its very convenient, much better than leaving your car overnight for a few days in an unprotected parking lot in downtown Calgary. for the first time in my life i have rented a car from enterprise. it was a very bad experience. i made a reservation on your website rental agreement 125578 ref nr.55N73B at your calgary downtown location. when i came there everyone was smiling, trying to shake my hand and offering cookies. i thought that they were friendly but it turned out it was all fake. it took a long time before one employee walked me to the van at the parking lot. he had already ALL of my information from my online reservation. nevertheless he walked me to the van and then walked me back to the office for the 'paperwork'. i found that very weird and very backwards. i have rented from hertz, avis and alamo maybe a hundred times before and never had such a weird experience. it turned out that it should become much worse: finally after a long time i got the key to the van and when i checked the loading deck of the van i saw that it was full of sand, three or four bags of sand were still inside the van, half open with sand running out everywhere. the van was extremely dirty. i went back to the office and told them about the sand. when the guy who walked me to the van saw the sand all over the van he did not look much surprised. he asked me if i wanted to have the van cleaned. i asked him how long this would take. he said it would take only five minutes. i agreed but i was already kind of upset. why does enterprise rent dirty cars, i mean extremely dirty cars to customers? why does enterprise not check the cars BEFORE they are rented to a customer? i never had a dirty car from hertz, avis or alamo. those cars are always very clean. so they took the truck to the cleaning station. i did not trust my eyes. the cleaner was using a brush which they used in the 1970's in third world countries. i did not say anything, just stood besides the van and waited until he finished. i checked the van and found still lots of sand everywhere. i told him that this was not clean and even showed him the remaining sand. i recommended to use a strong vacuum cleaner, not a brush which looks like the one witches use in fairy tales to ride on them. the cleaner showed a very bad attitude. he was rolling his eyeballs on me. i went inside the office and asked the employee outside to show him how dirty the van still was. he agreed and ordered the cleaners to wash the sand off with pressure washers. it took another five minutes and i got a fairly clean van to drive off. all of the loading platform was wet. they did not dry it. i had to wait for half an hour before it was dry and i could load my belongings on it. i returned the van after a few hours after having done my transport. i refueled it generously. when i got the van the tank was less than half empty ( i took a photo). also that is very unusual and not honest. hertz, avis and alamo only gave me cars with a full tank. it is easy to refuel when the tank is full but when it is less than half empty the customer is inconvenienced because he has to calculate the mileage, he has to know the fuel consumption and then he can decide how much to refuel. very, very inconvenient for the customer! when i tried to return the van i stopped in front of the cleaning station. the guy cleaning the car told me in a very unfriendly tone that i could not park there. he was very rude. the office was full with people. all employees were busy and i had to wait again. finally an employee came to check on the van. he asked me to follow him inside the office. after he had done the electronic paperwork he asked me if i needed a print which i denied. i signed with my finger. i said thank you and have a nice day. he said nothing. this was by far the worst rental car experience in my life!! a horrible experience overall. read more

Never rent from this company. Approximately one month after I returned the car I had rented I received a $355.99 charge on my credit card. I was told the car was returned with a "cracked windshield" however this was not brought to my attention at time of return. I spoke with the manager at this location and was informed that 'there was nothing he could do to help me" The customer service is repulsive. I rented cars from Enterprise a few times in the States but never had such a great experience at this Enterprise rental location in Calgary. We rented a Ford Expedition Max for 10 days with a daily allowed 112 miles. The checkout was fine, my walk through was a breeze, the rental agent didn't try to sell the insurance/waiver when I declined. He also read the rental terms and conditions but I wasn't paying any attention, I was so excited and couldn't wait to start my vacation. The car ran fine and carried a total of 7 passengers. About way of our vacation, a family member discovered the rear ventilation fan was not working. The weather in Edmonton was cool enough and not having rear ventilation didn't damp our excitement to see the Canadian Rockies. I wrote to the Calgary rental branch and informed them of the ventilation problem, they advised to bring the car to a Edmonton branch for a quick check. Before we started our drive on the Icefield Parkway (aka route 93), I decided to bring the car to a Edmonton Enterprise location to check if there is anything they can do to fix the rear ventilation. It was a Saturday morning, there was only one agent, he was overwhelmed by calls and customers. We waited for half an hour and explained the rear ventilation malfunction. Since he was overwhelmed, he quickly looked at the computer terminal for car replacement and decided there was nothing he could help. I asked if he could take a quick check to see if I missed anything on activating the ventilation, he ignored my request. We really enjoyed our visit to the Canadian Rockies and drove an extra 1500 km on top of the allowed mileage. The sceneries were spectacular and didn't disappoint... :) On 8/19, I brought the car back to the Calgary branch. The rental car agent who served us was Jitest, and he asked how was our rental car experience with them. I mentioned the extra 1500 miles and minor inconvenience caused by the rear ventilation problem. He checked the car and confirmed there is a problem with the rear ventilation. Since we enjoyed our vacation so much, I was more than happy to pay the full bill. To our surprises, Jitest offered to waive the extra 1500 miles cost to make up the minor inconvenience. To make us totally happy, he also deducted a day from the 10 days and charged us a 9 days rental. I rented cars on many occasions, most of them are fine. This Calgary Enterprise rental set a extremely high standard for the rest. Great car rental experience does exist !!!! read more

Yikes!!!! We came here on holiday and were seriously overpriced. For one day we paid $97 for a tiny car that should of costed us $50 max. Charged us $35 in gas.....it's only .87cents per liter. The person (who's a local) there didn't know how long it took to get to local attractions. Over estimated time ......told us it would take 2hrs and a full tank to get to Banff but only took a quarter of a tank round trip. If you don't know.....don't mid inform people. read more

the down town enterprise (1036 9 Ave SW) is amazing. talk about the customer service! there was a glitch in the rental we had but it was completely fixed by andy the manager. he gives the "going far beyond what is expected" a whole new meaning. our rental coincided around a time that was very difficult for our family and andy made life that much easier and manageable for us. he was flexible and available and very kind. our rental was the one thing we did not have to worry or think about. thank you enterprise, staff and andy for an exceptional work ethic and customer service. i would give more stars if i could! read more
