When you rent cars at airport locations, it is typically a pretty smooth process. Renting from a neighborhood location is a bit different. First of all, I have to say the employees at this location were swell. Apologetic for the delays and lack of options and tried to "make it right." So this review is not based on bad customer service, it is because this location feels set up for a lackluster experience. I made a reservation and arranged for billing a week in advance. I believe I am their typical customer, since everyone I know who has used this location is either getting their car repaired at the adjoining body shop or having their car serviced at one of Wilsonville's car dealerships. So when I walked in on a Tuesday morning at the appointed time for pick-up, I was surprised my car wasn't ready. When I say wasn't ready, I mean no cars were at the location. Period. It seems that they dispatch cars to this location based on reservations, rather than have a selection available for rental. So I wouldn't plan on being spontaneous. My car was finally ready about 30 minutes after the scheduled time and there were no choices. The car was pretty beat up, so when we did the walk around, the agent and I basically circled dents, dings and scratches on every surface. The seats were also dirty and the tank was empty. Boy, did I feel special. They told me I could try and exchange the car when they had more available, but when I called to do so, the timing never really worked out. My work schedule and their availability were never in sync.

They are always honest about what I'm expected to pay for the service and never go the cheap route when it comes to replacing anything on my car or servicing it. I don't even live in Canby anymore and still bring my car to them because I know the job will always be done right and sometimes they will get it done sooner than expected. Also it's always nice walking into the shop and they remember you by name especially a place where most people feel overwhelmed taking their car in to get serviced for the first time... needless to say you should feel very confident getting work done here!

Without hesitation the clerk looked up the appropriate item numbers for me and explained all the different product tiers without me asking. Zero stars if i could…read more I cannot recommend this shop based on my experience. Things started off poorly when I arrived for an appointment that I had scheduled in advance and was told I didn't have one. After showing voicemail messages and phone records confirming the appointment, it was acknowledged that I did have one, but I was informed that several other vehicles would now be ahead of me. Over the next several months, with my approval, additional work was added beyond the original estimate. When I finally received the vehicle back, the bill was nearly three times higher than the original quote. Unfortunately, the vehicle immediately developed a severe oil leak from the valve cover area. I was instructed to bring it back, but no tow was offered or suggested despite the severity of the leak. I checked the oil level and attempted to drive it back to the shop. The engine failed and locked up just a couple of miles away, requiring me to have it towed in. After discussing the situation, we agreed that installing a rebuilt engine would be a fair resolution. I agreed to pay $500 for labor and another $500 to add wiring for the oil pressure and generator warning lights. Nearly a year later, I received a call that the vehicle was finally ready for pickup. However, it barely made it a couple of blocks before I discovered the brakes were dragging badly. This was especially frustrating because brake work had been part of the original repair request. The shop kept the vehicle for another couple of weeks before I was able to pick it up for a third time. At that point, I was informed that the newly installed engine would carry absolutely no warranty. After all the time, money, and frustration involved, I ultimately sold the vehicle just to recover some of my expenses. Throughout the entire process, the attitude and communication were overwhelmingly negative and only seemed to worsen over time. What's particularly disappointing is that I used this shop about 17 years ago and received excellent service. I later learned that the mechanic who performed that work has since passed away. Sadly, the quality of service I received this time was nothing like what I remembered. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere. I would never want someone else to go through what I experienced here.
